 We are Super Sports Stars, the premier children’s sports organization in the nation. We are seeking FUN, energetic, early-childhood teachers and coaches to join our Soccer and/or Multi-Sports program! All training and equipment provided.

SOCCER STARS incorporates a fun, educational curriculum that teaches soccer fundamentals to all skill levels.

AMAZING ATHLETES is the premier, sports-based enrichment and P.E program in the country and teaches nutrition, muscle identification 10+ sport activities, including motor development skills.

Coaches will be provided with necessary Personal Protective Equipment and Training to safely run classes with COVID-19 restrictions put in place.

Schedule:

We are seeking a weekend coach to be available to teach sports classes for our weekday afternoon sessions (2-6pm) *morning (9-12pm) and weekend options also available. Classes range from 30-45 minutes (plus 15 minutes setup/breakdown.) You will teach the basic fundamentals of 10 different sports following each week's Amazing Athletes or Soccer Stars curricula.

Salary:

Coaches can earn up to $40 per 45min-60min session.

Day-to-day Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Assist/Teach an energetic and motivating class, connect and challenge each child, and help them to accomplish motor development goals and inspire a love of movement and healthy habits in an organized, structured, and fun manner.

  • Provide individual and group attention to children.

  • Show up on time to class, physically and mentally prepared (includes commuting time).

Requirements


  • Able and willing to travel to get to class locations

  • Prior experience working with children preferred. Experience working with Pre-School Age Children (preschool teachers, camp counselor, elementary education substitute teacher, coach, etc.)

  • Background in fitness (any: athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, martial arts, exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, etc.) preferred.

  • Must be fun, energetic, patient, and attentive

Coach youth ages 6-18 primarily in the after-school space from 12-4 pm. 

Deliver and reinforce SSUSA Curriculum at our youth program sites·

 Complete SSUSA Coach Training & Accreditation process which includes but is not limited to the following trainings: 


  • Orientation to SSUSA our mission, model & impact

  • Introduction to SSUSA Youth Program Methodology 

  • Trauma Informed Coaches Training & Commitment to Child Safety Policy, Online Training in Sports Based Youth Development

Organize, schedule and coordinate social and educational community based activities· Actively recruit volunteers, including parent participation in mentoring activities.

Qualifications

The Strength & Conditioning Coach administers a comprehensive fitness and readiness program for Marin Catholic athletes. This program is part of an Injury Prevention Program for Marin Catholic athletes.

The Strength & Conditioning Coach has direct or indirect responsibility for the following areas: 


  • Meet and Discuss with Head Coaches the teams’ training philosophy. 

  • Planning and Design of all training sessions for 28 athletic teams. 

  • Scheduling the weekly, monthly and yearly training schedules for the teams.

  • Integrate training philosophy, exercise selection and exercise execution in teaching students how to manage their fitness. 

  • Run team training sessions before and after school, as well as during the summer. 

  • Keep track of session attendance for all 28 teams, reporting attendance to all Head Coaches.

  • Design and Implement testing procedures.

  • Record and Track all testing administered to athletes, enabling them to review year to year progress.

  • Meet with Athletic Trainer for athlete injury updates and rehabilitation protocols

  • Oversee the Strength and Conditioning yearly budget.

  • Select equipment to be purchased for the Weight Room.

  • Design or make changes to Weight Room layout.

  • Keep Weight Room clean, sanitary and organized.

  • Stay up to date with current training, education and research.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology, preferred

  • Applicable National Strength & Conditioning Association Certification, preferred 

  • Previous experience with high school students, desired

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing, preferred

  • Desire to share his/her faith journey

  • Student focused and lifelong learner

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, student and staff

  • Maintains best professional practices in communicating with peers, students and parents

 This is a year-round position, full -time, part-time and on-call available, with varying seasonal, flexible, scheduled work hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • In charge of coaching at designated neighborhood program sites 4-5 days a week, including some weekends and evenings. (50% of the role will be coaching but hours can be flexible depending on program and game times)

Programming & Partnerships & Events:


  • Support in the recruiting, hiring and managing processes of SSUSA Support Coaches

  • Support with new program partner outreach and communication 

  • Focus on developing and overseeing high impact program types - Community Club & Homeless World Cup - setting and achieving engagement and impact metrics

  • Support SSUSA Club Affiliate Partners to optimize impact in the community

  • Support SSUSA SF Street League - available to be onsite one day per weekend while programs are running  to check in with coaches, parents and the community needs.

  • Support with design and delivery of culture-building program events such as SSUSA Street League Competitions & Street Soccer Festival Events to celebrate accomplishment of SSUSA Participants & their families

  • Support with the production and logistics for SSUSA Bay Area Cup, once per year 

Social Services/Monitoring & Evaluation:


  • Support coordination of SSUSA Social Services (Off-the-Field Curriculum, Exposure Outings, Homework Help, Job Skills Training, Parental Engagement, Referrals)

  • Ensure maintenance and documentation of all participant records, including electronic entry into Salesforce Database, ensuring all participant records are complete, accurate and up to date  

Communications:


  • Work with SF PM to submit newsletter stories when requested

  • Submit program highlights and event write-ups to SSUSA Leadership Team for internal and external communications 

  • GED or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience at a non profit or in fundraising, management, public administration, public health, community development preferred.

  • Strong management skills including managing complex, multifaceted programs resulting in measurable successes and growth.

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues.

Specialty instructors must have a valid certification with a minimum of 80 hours of training and /or teaching experience within their field or be certified by YMCA standards.Upon hire, must complete Intro to the Ys Cause & Culture, Y's Way to Service & Engagement, and I Hear You: Service with CARE. Within 90 days of hire, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required. Within 90 days of hire, Foundations of Listen First, Orientation to Healthy Living, Principles of Member Health and Wellness, Wellness Center at the Y or Group Exercise at the Y trainings required.
