As part of our team, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You follow instructions, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are a self-starter who is responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance. We need a real fabricator who can come on-site and get to work.

The Welder is responsible for producing parts in a timely and efficient manner that meet or exceed customer expectations and specifications. We need Mig Welders and Fitters who can read blue prints.

Core Responsibilities:



  • To ensure materials meet customer specifications by setting up a job including determining the welding method to be used if it is not stated on the blue print.


  • To ensure parts are welded correctly by performing the first piece check and submitting it to quality assurance for inspection prior to completing the entire job.

  • To ensure efficient and timely processing of various job orders by organizing work to be performed according to complexity, method used, anticipated completion time, etc.

Requirements:


To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the employee must have one year of related experience, possess a mechanical background, be experienced in welding processes (Mig), possess good organizational skills, and be able to work independently. Certification is preferred. The employee must also be able to lift and maneuver heavy parts constantly.

                                                                       looking for experienced MIG welders/fabricators!!


 The company manufactures large, industrial air units. Candidate must take a weld test to check experience and quality of weld. Pay range is $15 to $18 to start. Candidate will be welding mostly Aluminum as well as some Stainless steel.


This is not a production welding position. There is fabrication involved, person must be able to read a tape measure down to the 1/16 and also have some experience reading blueprints. Facility is very nice and clean and there is plenty of opportunity for overtime which is mandatory if work load dictates it.


2nd shift hours are Monday thru Friday 5PM to 3:30AM and Saturday is 2:30PM to 10:45PM. Sundays are typically on a voluntary basis but is paid Double Time. 


Most of the time the work week consists of 58 hours weekly but currently the work week consists of 60 to 65 hours per week.  Candidate should have their own equipment and welding tools. Candidate should have clean background and be able to pass a drug screen. This is a great opportunity to grow with a great company and gain valuable experience in fabrication.

SUMMARY: Is capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements and proper fit up • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by engineer. • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions. • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes. • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures. • Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material. • Tacks assemblies together. • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. • Cleans or de-greases parts. • Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding. • Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area.


EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE): Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Forklift training certificate or the ability to receive it.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Be able to read and interpret blueprints. • Must be able to read a tape measure. • Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents. • Ability to use weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances. • Must be able to identify and measure material.

General Responsibilities:



  • Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.

  • Weld fabricated parts using MIG, TIG, and stick processes.

  • Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers.

  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.

  • Preheat workpieces to make them malleable, using hand torches or furnaces.

  • Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.

  • Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, rain gutters, or downspouts in supportive frameworks.

  • Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products.

  • Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, using shears, hammers, punches, or drills.

  • Select gauges or types of metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications.

  • Maneuver completed units into position for installation, and anchor the units.

  • Transport prefabricated parts to construction sites for assembly and installation.

A well established company in the Grand Blanc area is looking for experienced MIG welders/fabricators to work in their facility. The company manufactures large, industrial air units. Candidate must take a weld test to check experience and quality of weld. Pay range is $16 to $20 to start and pay will depend on how candidate does on the weld test. Candidate will be welding mostly Aluminum as well as some Stainless steel. This is not a production welding position. There is fabrication involved, person must be able to read a tape measure down to the 1/16 and also have some experience reading blueprints. Facility is very nice and clean and there is plenty of opportunity for overtime which is mandatory if work load dictates it. 1st shift hours are Monday thru Friday 6AM to 4:30PM and Saturday is 6AM to 2:15PM. Sundays are typically on a voluntary basis but is paid Double Time.  Most of the time the work week consists of 58 hours weekly but currently the work week consists of 60 to 65 hours per week.  Candidate should have their own equipment and welding tools.
