We seek a team player with a minimum of two years management experience in a full service, high volume restaurant facility, who has demonstrated excellent organization, follow through and team leadership. We offer competitive pay, bonus and a benefits package, including growth opportunities.

To be eligible to work in our airport locations, candidate must pass a U.S. government, 10 year criminal background check and TSA security threat assessment.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • PEOPLE MANAGEMENT! Supervise a staff of approximately 30 including servers, bartenders, hosts and bussers

  • Provide coaching and positive leadership and support to staff, fostering a real TEAM environment

  • Guest relations and heavy hands-on floor presence

  • Train new hires as well as conduct continuous training for current employees

  • Understand and enforce provisions of our IIPP and ensure all safe work practices are followed at all times

  • Foster company philosophies and guest first service culture.

  • Ensure quality and availability of products being ordered, stocked and sold.

  • Ensure only correct and consistent products are served to guests

  • Maintain and conduct inventory

  • Ensure superior cleanliness of restaurant and adherence to food safety and sanitation guideline

  • Administrative duties including employee documentation, cash counts and daily logs

  • Understand, follow and enforce company policies, procedures, steps of service, union contract provisions, morale initiatives etc.

  • This position reports directly the General Manager

Skills we are most interested in:

Must be able to effectively manage people, time, tasks, paperwork, products, safety and sanitation.

Managing our staff effectively requires knowledge of our company handbook as well as the union contract. Management style should be proactive, positive and mentoring. While discipline and policy enforcement come with the territory, the most successful managers are always fair and consistent with discipline and coach staff performance positively to avoid the need for discipline. Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times.

Strong candidates will also have good written communication skills for administrative tasks and a healthy amount of regular documentation needs. Experience with union employees a plus. Aloha experience a plus.

  6. Prepare station assignments for Banquet Servers according to group requirements and Hotel standards.

  7. Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees.

  8. Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.

  9. Assign stations and side work to Servers in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.

  10. Conduct pre‐function meeting with Servers and review all information pertinent to set‐up and service of group.

  11. Inspect table set‐ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.

  12. Check bar set‐ups for cleanliness, organization and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; resolve any problems.

  13. Check buffet tables/receptions/coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and layout; ensure agreement with function order and departmental standards; resolve any problems.

  14. Ensure replenishment of items as specified on event orders and requested by group contact.

  15. Set out name cards, escort cards in accordance with group requirements.

  16. Organize head table assembly and assist in groups entrance into the function area.

  17. Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to function, make introduction and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable.

  18. Greet guests upon arrival at function and assist in seating as required by group.

  19. Direct Servers on timing of service throughout function.

  20. Communicate additional meal requirements and special requests to the Kitchen.

  21. Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.

  22. Assist Banquet staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.

  23. Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with service staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

  24. Total all charges for the group function, prepare check and present to group contact for payment. Adhere to all cashiering procedures/policies.

  25. Ensure that unused food is returned to the Kitchen, that designated condiments are broken down and properly stored (butters, cream, dressings, etc.) and that all Banquet supplies are returned to designated storage areas.

  26. Direct the final breakdown of function room and clean up. Ensure all department standards are met.

  27. Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff sign out.

  28. Conduct training of staff as assigned.

  29. Provide feedback on staff performance to Manager. Report disciplinary problems to Manager and participate in the counseling of employees.

  30. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

  31. Respond to all pages by beeper promptly.

  32. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.

  33. Document pertinent information in department log book.

  34. Complete all paperwork and closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.

  35. Review status of assignments and any follow‐up action with Manager and/or on‐coming Supervisor.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To provide the service of food and/or beverage to include order taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage items in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  1. Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness. Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.


  2. Greet the guest in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness.


  3. Record the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy utilizing the guest’s name as much as possible.


  4. Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.


  5. Retrieve order from kitchen, confirm its accuracy, lift and deliver to guest along with appropriate condiments. Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.


  6. Interact with guest.


  7. Maintain a positive attitude throughout shift.


  8. Work as a team player and assist co-workers as needed.


  9. Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.


  10. Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specials of the day.


  11. Present check to guests promptly.


  12. Collect payment for check, always thank guest and invite them to return.


  13. Clear, clean, and set tables.


  14. Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking service areas.


  15. Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.


  16. Maintain self-banking procedures.


  17. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  1. Ability to maintain standards for service, steps of service and all departmental standards.


  2. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

  4. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, communicate with guests to explain and record orders.
