POSITION CONCEPT


The instructor should be knowledgeable in his/her subject area, be an effective classroom manager, and follow the philosophy and rules of the College in conducting classes. The faculty member must possess a conferred graduate degree in field, or a graduate degree with 18 semester credits in field from a regionally accredited university for any State Common Course numbered class assignment. The educational requirements may vary for specialty fields that are not common course designated. Both practical and instructional experience is preferred. The instructor must have the ability to relate well to the students and other faculty members, the ability to keep calm during trying circumstances and have the ability to maintain a professional attitude in the classroom. Maintaining the highest standards of compliance is expected.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


It is the responsibility of the faculty to:



  • Conduct the class in a professional manner, creating an effective learning environment for all students

  • Know the policies in the Student and Faculty Handbooks

  • Be prepared with all material before class begins

  • Know the departmental policies involved in reporting/ repairing / maintaining equipment and see that these policies are carried through

  • Notify students in writing at midterm if they have below a “C” average

  • Be sure that students evaluate him/her at the end of the quarter, and that the evaluations are submitted to the Registrar without being viewed by the faculty member

  • Submit information on graduating students when requested

  • Assist the Financial Aid office when asked to send students to that office or sign proof of attendance.

  • Keep accurate, written records on attendance, tests and work submitted by the students.

  • Accurately record attendance on official rosters; submit rosters after every class meeting

  • Attempt to contact absentee students after each class meeting.

  • Submit Daily Absence sheets to the Registrar after each class meeting.

  • Accurately record grades and grade breakdowns on official grade reports

  • Make sure the classrooms are in good order at the end of the hour or day. This includes erasing boards, turning off equipment, straightening chairs and tables, locking doors, turning off lights.

  • Obtain the course syllabus prior to the start of the quarter; submit to the Dept Chair or Director of Education for approval if changes are requested.

  • Distribute the course syllabus on the first meeting of class; review with students; follow the course syllabus for the duration of the course.

  • Attend Faculty meeting and In-Service programs at least once per quarter; actively pursue professional development opportunities; report all activities in Annual Faculty Dev Plan.

  • Perform any other duties as requested by the President.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR VETERINARIAN



  • Doctor of Veterinary Science.

  • 3 years of teaching experience

  • 3 years of occupational experience

  • Must have minimum of 3 years of management experience


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR VETERINARIAN TECHNICIAN



  • Associate degree from a AVMA accredited program

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician

  • Experience in post-secondary education field preferred

SNIP Clinic Veterinarian Assistant

Summary of Purpose: Responsible for assisting veterinarians and assistants with handling, surgical and anesthetic procedures ensuring daily and high level care of all surgical patients.

Duties (Essential Functions):
•Gather information from clients during intake including brief animal health history.
•Assists Veterinary Surgeons with conducting physical examinations of animals to determine surgical fitness; reports health concerns to attending veterinarian.
•Cleans, prepares, and sterilizes instruments and medical supplies for Veterinarian’s use.
•Prepares animals for sterilization surgery; assists Veterinarian in surgery as needed.
•Restrains monitors and maintains patients during induction, intubation, and anesthesia.
•Observes animals post surgery to detect any abnormal behavior or symptoms and promptly reports them to Veterinarian.
•Stays current in knowledge of emergency drugs and protocol.
•Provides in-person and telephone client services, education and answer questions.
•Actively promotes spay and neuter initiatives.

  • Evaluate owned animals brought in for examination. Perform physical exams, diagnostics, therapeutics and determine an appropriate treatment plan.

  • Formulate, oversee, present, implement, review and update a humane euthanasia program.

  • Examine and oversee treatment of injured or sick animals; provide accurate and precise instructions to the clinic technicians. This includes evaluation, treatment plan and alteration of kitten nursery animals, isolation animals, adoptable animals and protective custody animals; as well as stray and surrendered animals.


Solid Support Staff:



  • Highly leveraged facility with a Clinical Manager and an Administrative Manager along with two room technicians, two CSR’s, and three inpatient/surgical technicians (in addition to kennel support staff used as needed for restraint procedures).

  • Technicians are trained to perform necessary procedures (catheter placements, surgical induction and intubation, radiographs, sample collections, etc.) so DVMs can focus on diagnosing and prescribing treatments.

  • Technicians scale/polish teeth while DVMs evaluate and extract.

  • Surgical scrub-in nurse available as requested in addition to technician monitoring anesthesia.

  • Compensation:

TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter is looking for a vet tech or vet tech assistant with at least one year of job experience to work at our animal shelter. Availability is required through the week, on weekends, and some holidays.


This position requires a highly motivated, animal-loving individual who can multi-task, work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision, and who can maintain focus in a stressful environment with many interruptions. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to effectively handle dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and temperament, as well as remaining calm in a medical emergency (i.e., dog bite, seizure, open incision). Medical terminology and computer proficiency are required in order to utilize Petpoint software. Candidate must have the capacity to pay close attention to detail and follow medical instructions to ensure the health and well-being of the animals. Additionally, excellent communication skills and an appropriate level of professionalism are required in working with a variety of contacts, including TAPS employees, veterinarians/veterinarian staff, foster families and volunteers.


Applicants must have experience or be willing to be trained to administer sub-q fluids, and conduct blood draws.

Requirements:
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.


Additional Licensing:
  • A State Controlled Substance (SCS) License may be required by the state in which you intend to work. If you do not already hold an SCS, Banfield encourages you to obtain this license after your start date as the practice may reimburse this cost.
  • Once an associate has obtained their SCS, Banfield will apply and pay for your DEA License.
  • New associates will be required to take their state USDA Accreditation class by the time they reach the 12-week mark from their hire date.

Now that we have your attention, we are looking for a 4th veterinary associate to join our small animal/ exotic (50/50) animal practice in Southern California. We are a high quality-low volume progressive practice that focuses on medicine and surgery using the latest technology. We are full-service hospitals, with all the staff and equipment needed to provide outstanding patient care including digital and digital dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house lab, extensive surgical capabilities and monitoring equipment. We have a very caring, and supportive staff of technicians, assistants and client service representatives. Our hospital has been committed to the community by supporting WAGS Pet Adoption, All of our docs work at WAGS for the experience with surgeries, unique cases, and skill obtainment. Dr Greenberg is the founder of WAGS giving young veterinarians a great opportunity to learn surgeries like amputations, eye enucleation, mammary gland removal, and so many more. The experience is essential in the veterinary world.


Additionally, there are many opportunities to bond with your clients while providing excellent veterinary care.
