  3. Retrieve linens/skirting required for designated functions and transport such to function area.

  4. Inspect the scheduled function area/room for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set up; rectify any deficiencies with respective departments.

  5. Meet with the Chef and Banquet Manager to review scheduled group menu and equipment requirements. Ensure agreement of delivery times, amounts and special arrangements. Communicate service needs throughout the function.

  6. Prepare station assignments for Banquet Servers according to group requirements and Hotel standards.

  7. Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees.

  8. Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.

  9. Assign stations and side work to Servers in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.

  10. Conduct pre‐function meeting with Servers and review all information pertinent to set‐up and service of group.

  11. Inspect table set‐ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.

  12. Check bar set‐ups for cleanliness, organization and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; resolve any problems.

  13. Check buffet tables/receptions/coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and layout; ensure agreement with function order and departmental standards; resolve any problems.

  14. Ensure replenishment of items as specified on event orders and requested by group contact.

  15. Set out name cards, escort cards in accordance with group requirements.

  16. Organize head table assembly and assist in groups entrance into the function area.

  17. Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to function, make introduction and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable.

  18. Greet guests upon arrival at function and assist in seating as required by group.

  19. Direct Servers on timing of service throughout function.

  20. Communicate additional meal requirements and special requests to the Kitchen.

  21. Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.

  22. Assist Banquet staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.

  23. Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with service staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

  24. Total all charges for the group function, prepare check and present to group contact for payment. Adhere to all cashiering procedures/policies.

  25. Ensure that unused food is returned to the Kitchen, that designated condiments are broken down and properly stored (butters, cream, dressings, etc.) and that all Banquet supplies are returned to designated storage areas.

  26. Direct the final breakdown of function room and clean up. Ensure all department standards are met.

  27. Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff sign out.

  28. Conduct training of staff as assigned.

  29. Provide feedback on staff performance to Manager. Report disciplinary problems to Manager and participate in the counseling of employees.

  30. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

  31. Respond to all pages by beeper promptly.

  32. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.

  33. Document pertinent information in department log book.

  34. Complete all paperwork and closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.

  35. Review status of assignments and any follow‐up action with Manager and/or on‐coming Supervisor.

Supervision/Activities

*Supervises all staff at the site

This position requires travel to offices and meetings throughout the Bay Area. Occasional statewide travel to sites throughout California may be required. DUTIES

Solicit all intake information from applicants, provide information regarding GGRC services, and refer qualified clients to Assessment Team or other community resources (when indicated). Provide general information and referrals regarding resources and services to clients and callers. Explain GGRC procedures and policies, including legislation and due process rights. Ensure the required timeframes, policies and procedures are met.

Input intake information and notes into system. Confirm client’s ‘first time’ status in Regional Center system. Maintain database of calls and documentation of applicant’s inquiries. Complete and maintain all required forms and reports according to regulations and procedures. Complete monthly statistics.

Determine place of residence in accordance with guidelines. Review and determine appropriateness of applications for service. Maintain information and referral services. Assist in determining referrals for outreach services. Provide administrative support to unit as needed. Participate in special projects and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate Degree from an accredited college of social welfare or related human services field required. Bachelor's degree is preferred;

• 1+ year client interaction and evaluation experience;

• Work experience with developmentally disabled;

• Experience in the field of Early Childhood Development desired;

• Case Management experience preferred;

• Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Able to speak clearly and be understood by native Spanish speakers and to understand relevant spoken/written dialects, as appropriate;

• Good interview skills and able to assess individual needs and input detailed notes into system while interviewing;

Overview

Fulltime teachers are needed for a high-quality bilingual preschool/kindergarten rooms and infant-toddler rooms.

Qualifications: 


  •  12 units of early childhood education preferably, infant-toddler units and a bachelor’s degree.

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and high school graduates, preferably college graduates, with a desire for career growth. 


  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. now, but we will support the future visa applications of talented and motivated individuals.

We have a special need for candidates with bachelor’s degrees, ECE units, and the ability to speak Chinese or Spanish in addition to fluent English. The compensation system offers additional rewards for education and exceptional abilities, talents, and experience.

Business Overview

The centers’ hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The centers offer five-day-per-week, full-time learning and care program for infants, toddlers, twos, and preschoolers (ages 0-6). Operating year-round on a business calendar to accommodate working parents who want a learning focus in a loving environment for their children.

Licensed by the State of California, the centers are located in Central Park Plaza in North San Jose (Montague Expressway & Zanker Road) adjacent to Greer Park in Palo Alto. Only blocks from excellent freeways and public transit, the centers are convenient to residents, employees working nearby, and commuters.

The learning program is a fusion of the HeadsUp! approach and the Montessori curriculum. Both employ structured early learning activities and materials. Both emphasize individual choice and responsibility. The infant-toddler and twos programs consist of HeadsUp! learning games and traditional activities led by center staff members who are trained to encourage learning through play. The preschool program is headed by certified Montessori teachers who combine classic Montessori activities with creative play, including art, music, and imaginative play. Early Learning Institute, the HeadsUp! parent organization also operates a private elementary school in Pleasanton and a preschool and private elementary school in Palo Alto.

  3. Assist with fundraising and public advocacy campaigns  

Communications Support

A company carpool is available for those who live in the Berkeley area and commute to San Ramon.

Working at BATC


  • Pay is $26/hr and up, DOE

Qualifications

Tutors must to be able to take initiative and work independently. At the same time, we expect tutors to collaborate with each other in order to develop and/or expand curricula. English tutors must be able to teach all levels of English through AP, and have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary and idiom, as well as the ability to write and correct essays. Flexibility is key, as we often ask our English tutors to help students with History or other Humanities related subjects. Prior tutoring experience is preferred and a bachelor’s degree, or ongoing study towards a degree, is required. Experience tutoring History (World, US, Euro) and Government is highly desirable. Experience tutoring SAT, ACT, and SAT II is also highly desirable. All candidates will be given an assessment test in their subject prior to interviewing.
