Hanna Boys Center is a private nonprofit which provides a therapeutic, residential school program to underserved adolescent boys.   The Archbishop Hanna Teacher is responsible for planning instruction and/or making adaptations to the general curriculum to enable students to benefit from their education. The teacher is expected to communicate with parents and cottage staff in regard to student accommodations and modifications and be must be able to report to and participate on multidisciplinary evaluation teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Respect the Center’s faith, education and caring Catholic values.

· Will serve as part of the high school teaching staff  

· Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.  

· Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with at risk-youth 

· Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. 

· School day duty hours are between 8:00 – 3:30. Until 4:30 one day weekly   

Qualifications: 

· B.A. or greater in content area. Experience preferred, but not required. Successful student teaching experience required. State teaching certificate, or ability to be certified by the start of the 2019-20 school year.   

· Experience working with at risk-youth. 

· Training or endorsements in Reading and Math highly desirable.  

· Ability to work supportively with other staff to achieve common goals. 

· Ability and knowledge to create and teach a sequential reading program.

REQUIREMENTS: Must pass a criminal background check and physical, including a drug and TB test. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to be covered under our insurance. Ability to be certified in CPR/First Aid, community water safety and crisis intervention. We are a large preschool with 5 separate classrooms; infants through Transitional Kindergarten. We have approximately 20 teachers on staff and are looking to hire two Subs-On-Site. Agreed upon hours are guaranteed even if no teachers are absent. When not substituting in the classroom, SOS works in the office to assist with simple administrative tasks (or has the option to take the time off). We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable with changing diapers for infants and to playing with our preschoolers, though SOS is rarely lead teacher. This position would appeal to someone who likes to be on the floor with the kids and have less responsibility with running the classroom. Schedules: Monday through Friday 9:00-5:30 and Monday through Friday 7:30-4:00.

 Clinical Supervisor for a small non-profit year-round Special Education School and Medi-Cal Mental Health Clinic.

Program Description:La Cheim's school programs provides both special education and mental health services to adolescent and latency age children. All students have an IEP issued from a neighboring public school district. Students receive educational and therapeutic clinical services in small, self-contained classrooms. Each classroom's treatment team consists of a special education teacher, clinician, mental health resources specialist, and classroom assistant. Additionally highly trained Psychiatrists, RNs, and NPs assist each treatment team in developing a quality, thorough, treatment plans for each child.

Each classroom's therapeutic milieu provides individual and group therapy for the participating students. Classroom's student sizes are small, averaging between 5 to 7 students. Overall campus student census ranges from 12 to 18 students. This allows our treatment plans to be very specific for each student's individualized clinical and educational treatment needs.

Our school provides year-round educational and mental health services. Family therapy is a key component to successful client treatment. A child cannot be successfully served unless their family, extended family, and other outside care givers are involved.

La Cheim has a very dedicated treatment team. Staff turnover is quite low; most employees have been with La Cheim well over 15 years. This can be attributed to a positive sense of professional comradery, quality service provision, satisfaction and a very friendly working environment. • Oversee the completing Medi-Cal charting. Overseeing the clinician's Medi-Cal charting for accuracy and timeliness. Ensuring MD's, NP's and RN's, charting is complete and submitted in a timely manner.

• Ensuring all clinical notes have effective interventions to ensure each clients' clinical goals are best met.

•Ensure all employees successfully complete the maximum number of quality billable notes each month.

• Responsible for the entire Program's Mental Health/ Medi-Cal services including ensuring all records and files are kept in 'Audit Ready' condition, physical facility meets Medi-Cal standards, and client charts go to mandated county mental health reviews and audits.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed MFT or MSW and be certified by the Board to supervise interns.

• Valid California Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.

• Current TB Test and clear criminal live scan clearances including DOJ & FBI.

Description: The Archbishop Hanna Teacher is responsible for planning instruction and/or making adaptations to the general curriculum to enable students to benefit from their education. The teacher is expected to communicate with parents and cottage staff in regard to student accommodations and modifications and be must be able to report to and participate on multidisciplinary evaluation teams.


 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


· Respect the Center’s faith, education and caring Catholic values.


· School day duty hours are between 8:00 – 3:30. Until 4:30 one day weekly.


· Will serve as part of the high school teaching staff


· Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.


· Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with at risk-youth


· Function as member of student assistance teams.


· Regularly update electronic grades and ensure all relevant parties have access to assignments and associated scales.


· Design and implement behavioral programs.


· Establish and enforce rules and procedures to manage student behavior in the classroom.


· Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.


 


Qualifications:


· B.A. or greater in content area. Experience preferred, but not required. Successful student teaching experience required. State teaching certificate, or ability to be certified by the start of the 2019-20 school year.


· Experience working with at risk-youth.


· Training or endorsements in Reading and Math highly desirable.


· Ability to work supportively with other staff to achieve common goals.


· Ability and knowledge to create and teach a sequential reading program.


 


Comments:


· Must clear background check for a Community Care Licensed facility, including physical, tb and drug test.


· Must have the ability to be insured under our policy.


· Able to be certified in Crisis Intervention, CPR, First Aid.


· Sit, stand and walk for required periods of time.


· Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and/or controls.


· Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 20 lbs., occasionally.

Spectrum Center Schools is a division of Chancelight Behavioral Health and Education, which provides behavioral health and special and alternative education to students nationwide.


Classroom Instructional Aides provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students and additional support to the core classroom staff. Work with student(s) to implement their Individualized Education Programs (IEP) utilizing group and individual instruction in the classroom and community. The duties include but are not limited to training students in the following domains: community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.


Position Details:



  • Implements curriculum (including all on-site and community-based instruction) and behavioral intervention strategies consistent with the letter and intent of the IEP/ITP (Individual Transition Plan)/PBIP (Positive Behavior Intervention Plan) to meet each student’s goals and objectives.

  • Performs job coaching duties as assigned, by assisting in the training of students, on campus or at community job sites in appropriate work behavior and specific employment skills.

  • Completes accurate and timely documentation on student’s behavior as outlined by school procedures; reports observations to relevant staff and makes recommendations based on observations.

  • Assists in preparation of other behavioral reports and daily activities log as required. Maintains confidentiality of student information and records at all times.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and apply concepts of basic math. Working knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test (AA or 60 college credits in lieu of test).

  • Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development

  • Knowledge of CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid (preferred but not required)

  • Minimum of 6 completed units of early childhood education or 2 completed units of early childhood education each semester following initial employment and continuation in an educational program until fully qualified or 24 early childhood semester units in preschool teaching

  • 6 months experience in a licensed preschool with children ages 2-5

  • Passionate, dedicated, can be flexible, reliable, responsible and accountable
