Scoot partner schools still have a need for virtual subs to support their online teaching and learning whilst schools stay closed for in-person instruction. You’ll need to:



  • Take a recent TB Risk Assessment & Live Scan (We’ll cover the cost of this!)

  • Have a 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit OR CA Teaching Credential


***Please note that we won’t be asking you to complete a live scan and/or TB test until we have clarity around when schools will re-open. You won’t incur any costs until we know you can use them to start working.

You’ll get paid:

Scoot pays the highest rates among substitute providers in Los Angeles! Your daily pay rate varies based on your credentials and the assignment.

We’re proud to pay subs the following rates for day-to-day assignments:



  • CA credentialed teachers= $160-190

  • 30 Day Permit teachers= $150-180

  • Support Roles (Teaching Assistant, 1-to-1 aide etc) = $125-145 a day

Job Description


We are seeking a Preschool Teacher to join our organization to plan and present age appropriate activities for children ages 2-4 years old.


Responsibilities:



  • Supervision of a class of children ages 2-4 years old.

  • Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote development in social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creative growth.

  • Create a fun and safe learning environment based on the Centers philosophy

  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime and according to Centers High/Scope Philosophy

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff.

  • Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress

  • Assess children's development, create portfolios and document behavior

  • Maintain the health and safety of all students

  • Assist in preparation and clean up of snacks

  • Help children with personal care routines including washing hands, toileting and toilet training, diapering and keeping children clean and dry.


Qualifications:



  • Good Understanding of child development and how young children learn and grow, & best practices.

  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility and teaching in a play based program.

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild-Moderate) or (Moderate-Severe)

  • Eligible to obtain Education Specialist Internship Credential (Mild-Moderate) or (Moderate-Severe)

  • BA with a completed CBEST (Eligible for teacher in training program)

  • English Language and Autism Authorizations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, in addition to a variety of educational software programs

  • Knowledge of Special Education Program guidelines

  • Excellent reading and writing Skills

  • Organizational skills
