THE POSITION

Substitute Preschool Teacher, under supervision of the Preschool Director, is responsible for developing, organizing and teaching preschool age children for Pleasant Hill Recreation Preschool during the school year and teaching camps during the summer.

The position offered is temporarily from now until 3/30/2020 Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8:00am-12:00pm. This position is with children 18-36 month old. Upon completion of temporary assignment floater/sub hours may be available as needed. This position requires, classroom management skills, patience, good communication skills, and the ability to multitask. Substitute Preschool Teacher must also remain professional at all times and be able to handle conflict well. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have natural leadership abilities.

Example of Duties:

 Create, plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with a play based, process oriented approach.

 Maintain a clean and organized classroom.

 Change diapers and assist in potty training children.

 Communicate with parents regarding the needs of students.

 Work as a team with a co-teacher.

 Ensure all safety policies are followed to ensure a safe

environment for participants.

 Administer preschool classes and summer camps.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Education

Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units, preferred.

2) Experience

Minimum two years preschool teaching experience, preferred.

Background in teaching or parks and recreation is desirable.

3) Licenses, Certificates and Special Requirements:

Valid California Class C Driver's License with a good driving record and

Certificate of current Automobile insurance. First Aid, CPR and AED

certification is required, but may be obtained during the probationary

period.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift

and carry 40 pounds, kneel, squat, bend and sit on the floor. Must be

able to speak clearly and hear in a loud environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Part Time Riding Instructors work as part of a collaborative, supportive and professional team to offer riding lessons, horsemanship classes and seasonal camps to students and campers at Sienna Ranch. Sienna Ranch uses a Pony Club-influenced approach to balanced seat and safety, and deeply values a Natural Horsemanship approach to forming connections between students and horses, horse training and horse care.

 

SCHEDULE SUMMARY Non-exempt. Permanent. Part-time. Year-round. School Year Schedule (approx Sept-May): 12-16 hours per week, Monday, Thursday, Friday schedule with option to add hours on weekends. Optional Summer Schedule (approx June-August): Monday-Friday, 25-40 hours per week (w/ one optional week off)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Teach group horsemanship classes, summer camps and holiday camps

Communicate with other riding instructors and Animal Care and Education Manager to coordinate facility use and horse use

Coordinate with Sienna Ranch Business Manager to report absences, schedule makeups, report incidents

Assist with special events and leading pony rides, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

At least 2 years experience teaching safe and engaging beginner-intermediate horseback riding lessons. Pony Club experience looked upon favorably within the past 5 years.

Ability to patiently and positively mentor youth from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and experiences

Willing to work outside in all weather

Able to maintain clean, organized workspaces

Ability to patiently and professionally communicate with parents, staff, volunteers, students and apprentices

Definition:

Under supervision of the Center Director, perform work of relative difficulty in teaching, managing and nurturing a group of children.

Duties:

Clinical Supervisor for a small non-profit year-round Special Education School and Medi-Cal Mental Health Clinic.

Program Description:

La Cheim's school programs provides both special education and mental health services to adolescent and latency age children. All students have an IEP issued from a neighboring public school district. Students receive educational and therapeutic clinical services in small, self-contained classrooms. Each classroom's treatment team consists of a special education teacher, clinician, mental health resources specialist, and classroom assistant. Additionally highly trained Psychiatrists, RNs, and NPs assist each treatment team in developing a quality, thorough, treatment plans for each child.

Each classroom's therapeutic milieu provides individual and group therapy for the participating students. Classroom's student sizes are small, averaging between 5 to 7 students. Overall campus student census ranges from 12 to 18 students. This allows our treatment plans to be very specific for each student's individualized clinical and educational treatment needs.

Our school provides year-round educational and mental health services. Family therapy is a key component to successful client treatment. A child cannot be successfully served unless their family, extended family, and other outside care givers are involved.

La Cheim has a very dedicated treatment team. Staff turnover is quite low; most employees have been with La Cheim well over 15 years. This can be attributed to a positive sense of professional comradery, quality service provision, satisfaction and a very friendly working environment. Position Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed MFT or MSW and be certified by the Board to supervise interns.

• Valid California Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.

• Current TB Test and clear criminal live scan clearances including DOJ & FBI.

• Past experience working with adolescents within a therapeutic milieu. (Preferred)

• Possess excellent administrative skills provided in an appropriate compassionate manner, yet be clear, firm, and direct.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to write and implement Behavior Treatment Plan

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Teach group horsemanship classes, summer camps and holiday camps

  • Communicate with other riding instructors and Animal Care and Education Manager to coordinate facility use and horse use

  • Coordinate with Sienna Ranch Business Manager to report absences, schedule makeups, report incidents

  • Assist with special events and leading pony rides, as needed

REQUIREMENTS


  • At least 2 years experience teaching safe and engaging beginner-intermediate horseback riding lessons. Pony Club experience looked upon favorably within the past 5 years.

  • Ability to patiently and positively mentor youth from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and experiences

  • Willing to work outside in all weather

  • Able to maintain clean, organized workspaces

  • Ability to patiently and professionally communicate with parents, staff, volunteers, students and apprentices

  • Committed to being an active part of a solution-oriented, self-motivated, cooperative, professional community atmosphere

  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision and to independently hold yourself accountable to a high level of professionalism

  • Able to check and respond to email communications within 24 business hours

  • Current First Aid and CPR for Adult and Child certifications, and clear TB test results (or ability to acquire before first day or work), and ability to pass FBI/DOJ background check for working with children COMPENSATION

Gone for Good is a secure document destruction and eWaste recycling business owned and operated by UCP of the North Bay that also provides a variety of recreation opportunities including camps and outdoor adventure activities. UCP of the North Bay operates programs serving adults with developmental disabilities in Solano, Napa, and Sonoma Counties. Program Leaders may also work as needed at WineBev Services, 500 Technology Way, Napa, CA 94558 because of the geographical proximity of the two programs. WineBev Services primarily packages wine and provides work crews for wine industry and hospitality industry related businesses in the community.   QUALIFICATIONS Program Leaders must have a high school degree, general education diploma, or certificate of completion. Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in employment, education, and recreation programs is preferred, but not necessary. 

Program Leaders must: Possess a valid California Drivers License and have a good driving record.

Pass Department of Justice and FBI criminal background fingerprint clearance.

Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Program Leaders must be able to drive a passenger van to transport employees with developmental disabilities. Napa Valley Support Services is currently seeking a support staff for a newly created program: Community Engagement Service Professional.Overall Responsibilities: Support individuals with developmental disabilities and assist with the development of Community Engagement (CE) opportunities including but not limited to: community classes, service clubs, volunteerism and customized employment.Community Responsibilities:


  • Plan weekly activities with individuals in community awareness/engagement classes.

  • Promote good public relations both for NVSS and individuals in community classes.

  • Responsible for quality control and flow of work on community job sites.

  • Conduct a pre trip safety inspection of all NVSS vehicles.

  • Be aware of safety procedures and location of safety manual.

  • Immediately inform management staff if an unsafe situation occurs or is observed.

  • Document special incidents on the proper forms as outlined in Special Incident Report, SIR procedures.

  • Immediately inform management when client health issues arise.
