    Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a Experinced Structural Designer for bridge and infrastructure projects in the KIE - Englewood, CO office. We are looking for the ideal candidate to perform a variety of design and detailing tasks related to concrete and steel bridges, construction methods, and design reviews for conceptual and final designs. The Structural Designer should have at least 4 years' experience in bridge plans production, be highly technically competent, and familiar with current tools/programs/software and CADD production practices.

    This role will be based out of Kiewit's Englewood, CO (South Denver area) office. 
     
    Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  •     Working with engineering team to develop preliminary and final design bridge plans and details.

  •     Detailing of structural elements, including concrete reinforcement and steel connections.

  •     Using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software to develop bridge plans.

  •     Participating in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.

  •     Producing reinforcement barlists, engineering reports, models, exhibits, etc.

  •     Assisting Designers and Engineers with QA/QC reviews of drawing packages.

  •     Leading a design project and providing guidance to others.

  •     Assessing project schedule and estimating resource requirements; communicate progress with task lead.

  •     Setting up project workspaces and drawing templates.

  •     Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Kiewit and/or project-specific standards and Quality Management plans.

    Qualifications:



  •     4-10 years' experience in CAD production of bridge designs and plan sets.

  •     3+ years' project leadership experience a plus but not required.

  •     Associate Degree or better preferred.

  •     General knowledge of engineering principles and structural materials.

  •     Ability to understand construction documents and design standards.

  •     Strong background in bridge design, construction methods and prestressing/post-tensioning.

  •     Familiar with bridge construction procedures and staging plans.

  •     Must be highly proficient with MicroStation or AutoCAD; both preferred.

  •     Basic skills in Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam and ProjectWise.  Advanced ProjectWise experience preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1) Possess a BS in Civil/Structural with a minimum of 2 plus years of experience in performing structural analysis/design of various building or non-building structures including non-structural components. Candidates with MS degree in Structural Discipline is preferred. Candidates with PE licenses are preferred but if not then must be on track to attain professional registration as soon as qualified.


    2) Possesses knowledge of following building codes and standards: CBC, IBC, ASCE 7 with emphasis on Ch 13 Design of Non Structural Components, ACI 318 with emphasis on Ch 17 Design of Concrete anchors, AISI, NDS, AISC Steel provisions


    3) Possesses knowledge of following Computer Softwares: RISA-3D, Enercalc, STAAD, MS-OFFICE, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Solidworks, Anchor Design softwares


    4) Ability to work in team environment with multiple projects. Shows ingenuity in completing tasks. Cooperates in working with others and accepting duties.     Structural Design Engineer


    We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer for a major client of ours in Huntington Beach, CA! Bachelor degree and 3 years of experience minimum.


     


    Responsible to:



    1. - perform structural design calculations

    2. - engineering calculations, design guidelines

    3. - specifications, estimate projects, enter product orders

    4. - perform structural calculations, and engineering design

    5. - release projects to manufacturing for fabrication

    6. - providing assistance to manufacturing, sales and customer service

    7. - occasional project site visits, new product development, and product testing.


     


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



    • Efficient in AutoCAD and to be able to turn full project drawing sets

    • Assist in estimating projects for sales teams from start to finish. From doing take-offs to running structural analysis, getting outside quotes, hardware, freight and installation quotes.

    • Design new products and custom parts, involve with new product development and engineering initiatives.

    • Assist in manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, manuals, documentation, or testing activities of rack systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, or customer requirements.

    • Support project design and production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within established budget.

    • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for design to market speed, lean product development, value engineering, and innovative designs.

    • Visit job sites for measurements, inspections, installer walk-thru, and assist with sales calls.

    • Knowledge of Excel, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, RISA, SAP2000, or Visual Analysis is preferred

    • Perform other miscellaneous engineering duties as required and assigned by management.
