Speech & Language Pathologist Full-Time Position Available

Wings Learning Center is a school specifically created to address the educational and therapeutic needs of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Qualified professionals work collaboratively, sharing their knowledge in an effort to address each students’ needs across all disciplines. The WLC staff is a knowledgeable group, all working within their field of expertise. Job Summary:

The Speech and Language Pathologist provides speech and language therapy services to students at Wings. The Speech and Language Pathologist works as part of a transdisciplinary team to provide an educational and therapeutic program to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The position responsibilities include: assessing and evaluating students, planning/scheduling of all individual and group sessions, creating individualized speech and language materials, working with students with an AAC device, and regularly collaborating with the team. The person in this position will also work as part of the Individual Education Plan team and develop goals and objectives and make appropriate speech and language recommendations.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) from ASHA

• AAC Specialist Certification

Responsible in conducting necessary evaluation, treatment, assessment, follow-up and reevaluation. Position Requirements:


  • Have successfully completed an approved Speech Therapy program and provide copy of valid Speech Language Pathologist license.

  • At least one year of experience working as a Speech Therapist in healthcare.

  • Valid Drivers license and Insurance.

  • Be able to travel to do patient care.

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

  • Must submit to and have negative results in a drug and alcohol screen.

  • Provide proof of a recent TB test with positive reactors.

  • Provide a copy of a health exam.

  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States.

Performance Standards:


  • Compliant with all applicable federal, state, local and Medicare laws and regulations.

  • Review referral and patients clinical record (when available) to determine the need for speech therapy services.

  • Conduct initial evaluation, assessment, follow-up and reevaluation of patients with speech, hearing or language disorders and establish a plan of treatment.

  • Providing rehabilitative services for speech, hearing and language disorders.

  • As a SLP, provide instructions and coordinate with other health care team, patient and family members with the home rehabilitation program as well as providing written instructions when applicable to ensure continuum of care.

  • Participate and assist in the development, implementation, review and revision of the plan of treatment as a member of the home health team, documenting clinical and progress notes, summaries, and other documentation.

  • Maintain a healthy and professional partnership with the patient and market our service from within and out of the community.

  • Be a resource and support person for the patient, family, and aides in regards to care and services provided.

  • Makes supervisory visits to the patient no less than two weeks to ensure proper care and services were given.

  • Maintain proper documentation and completion of appropriate records in a timely manner.

  • Participate in case conference, meetings, In Services and training programs as required to ensure professional growth.
