If this sounds like you, join the Summit Learning Teacher Residency! We are currently recruiting for our 2020-21 Cohort, which starts in July 2020.

 

TheSummit Learning Teacher Residency  is a one-year program based in the San Francisco Bay Area, during which you are immersed in Summit classrooms four days per week while also completing credentialing coursework leading to a California Single Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential.

In the Summit Learning Teacher Residency, you spend a year learning to:  


  • Engage students in deeper learning projects where they develop skills, apply content knowledge, and integrate the disciplines in authentic performances tasks

  • Empower students as self-directed learners, helping them develop the habits and skills that lead to academic, professional, and personal success

  • Nurture communities of learners by building meaningful relationships that allow students to grow and thrive

  • Connect instructional decisions and students actions to students’ long-term goals and aspirations

Residents in our program are paired with a Cooperating Teacher in a Summit Public Schools site throughout the Bay Area for a full  school year.  Residents gradually work up to independently teaching one class section for the second semester. Residents’ learning experiences and coursework mirror Summit’s personalized learning approach which include engaging in project-based curriculum that is competency-based, self-directed, and student-centered. Residents in our program receive a living stipend, and pay a tuition for the program. More information on the living stipend, tuition and available scholarships can be found "here"

The Summit Learning Teacher Residency offers:  


  • A comprehensive program that deeply integrates the credentialing coursework with the clinical experience

  • A student teaching placement that is deeply integrated in a Summit Learning school site in the Bay Area, CA for four full day each week for the length of the academic year

  • Learning experiences that allow residents to experience personalized learning themselves as students

A little bit about us and the position: At Knowledge Tree Children's Academy, we believe that every child is a born artist, scientist, inventor, constructor and explorer, and we are here to help them express and develop these interests. Daytime or Evening Naturalist: Part to full time (when available); Non-Exempt Position

Coloma Outdoor Discovery School (CODS) has been providing a variety of outdoor education programs since 1990. Our residential program offers public and private school students a 1-4 day experience in California Gold Rush History, Science, and Ropes Challenge Programs. Our campus is located on the banks of the South Fork of the American River in the town of Coloma, California. Our program has an excellent reputation for employing professional naturalists who are excellent role models, teachers, and well-educated individuals.

The daytime naturalist position is available seasonally—from January thru May, and September thru November—with the option to return the following season.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Educating, supervising, and empowering students enrolled in the any of our programs.

• Initiate learning in many formats: at meals, in the field, on the trail, and in large (75+ ) or small (12-16 students) groups.

• Commitment to personal development of teaching skills and background knowledge of subject areas.

• Promote positive communication among staff, students, teachers, and parent counselors.

• Model environmentally sustainable behavior and ethics.

• Regularly manage teaching supplies and equipment.

• Collaborate with other naturalists and organization leaders to continually upgrade academic and logistic aspects of program.

Must have H.S. Diploma or equivalent and posses and maintain valid California Drivers License. Must pass background investigation, medical evaluation, and Instructor Examination through Department of Motor Vehicles. Must also complete training course (offered through TVDS).

The Teacher, On-Site Substitute provides a high quality, personalized education program for students using the Aspire approach, in classrooms when the regular classroom teacher is not available. The On-Site Sub is works at one specific school site and is considered to be a “constant” in terms of the staff at their school site and fills in for any position at the school site that is needed on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Follows classroom systems/procedures established by regular classroom teacher, and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning

  2. Reinforces a culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students

  3. Implements lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with California State Standards, Aspire Instructional Guidelines, and teacher plans for substitutes

  4. Assesses students regularly in accordance with Aspire guidelines and teacher plans for substitutes and refines classroom activities to differentiate instruction for each student

  5. Collaborates with Aspire team members to improve own and others’ instructional practices; shares best practices

  6. Actively participates in professional development activities as requested by principals and RVP, including: training sessions and working with lead teacher, principal, instructional coaches

  7. Provides regular classroom teachers with timely information on classroom activities and student progress

  8. Tracks critical student information and maintains accurate student records, including attendance, in accordance with Aspire procedures

  9. Collaborates with regular classroom teachers, other team members and outside service providers to address learning challenges in accordance with individual student plans

  10. Schedule own coverage of regular classroom teachers’ classrooms, according to priorities set by RVP; track work schedule

Claire Lilienthal Learning Academy is an afterschool program serving youth in grades 3rd through 8th. The CLLA Specialist is responsible for creating a positive, supportive, and safe afterschool environment for the students enrolled in CLLA. Their main role will be providing direct service to CLLA participants, leading youth in recreational and enrichment activities and supporting youth with homework in an afterschool setting. The CLLA Specialist will be responsible for one of Five Focus Areas: Civic Engagement; College & Career Readiness; Nature Connection; Academic Success; and Holistic Health. The CLLA Specialist will curate lessons and activities for their focus area that are developmentally-appropriate, adhere to Youth Development principles and practices, and support the objectives of CLLA. The CLLA Specialist will also support their colleagues in preparing to implement lessons and activities. The CLLA Specialist will work closely with the CLLA Coordinator on lesson planning and implementation.

The top priority of the program is to teach the participants viable skills through using a youth development philosophy in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities. Since all employees working at a facility where minors are present are considered to have a supervisory or disciplinary relationship over minors, the CLLA Specialist will strive to be a positive role model to youth within the philosophy of YMCA standards and expectations.

Candidates must be available to work Monday – Friday 25-28 hours per week (program starts at 1:40 and ends at 6:00; scheduled weekly hours include time for planning, preparation, and staff meetings). Scheduled hours may vary slightly in accordance with the SFUSD calendar and program needs.

Minimum Qualifications

● Minimum 18 years old

● An AA degree or higher or Official transcripts reflecting 48 college units and a high school diploma/equivalent or ● Completion of CBEST and a high school diploma/equivalent or Completion of CODESP and a high school diploma/equivalent.

● At least 6 months of experience running recreational, enrichment, or academic activities with groups of youth, and knowledge of a variety of classroom and behavior management techniques.

● Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate

program activities.

● Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

● CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of

hire date.

Position Description   

The after-school program, known as The Neighborhood, is open to Presidio Hill School students (TK-8th grade) from dismissal (between 2:45 and 3:30pm - staggered dismissal time) until 6pm. We seek to create a safe and fun space where the students can spend their afternoons engaged in free play, social growth, academic time, and enrichment opportunities (such as cooking, arts & crafts, group games, etc). We’re seeking someone to join a team of 4, a director and three teachers, who make up the after-school staff. General work hours would be approximately 2:30-6pm primarily with grades 3-8. In addition, there are some mandatory all day camp and evening childcare responsibilities in which you will be scheduled for longer shifts (generally 10-6pm). 

Primary Responsibilities  

~Supervise students in grades TK-8 in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.

~Develop positive relationships with the students and serve as a role model.

~Demonstrate a commitment to multicultural education and guidelines.

During the Neighborhood Program:  

~Assist grades 3-8 with homework during daily academic time. 

~Plan fun games, activities and projects that encompass the arts, science, cooking and recreation.  

~Help prepare and cleanup snack and activities.  

~Report to the After-School Enrichment Program (AEP) Director. The AEP Director may assign additional duties.   

During Camp Weeks/ All Day Childcare Days 

~Plan and lead fun games, activities and projects that encompass the arts, science, cooking, and recreation for grades TK-5. 

~Supervise students on daily field trips to local parks and museums.  

~Ensure all students are safe, being included and having fun!

ABOUT US

The mission of Tiny Techs Club is to encourage creativity in science and technology in children at the elementary and middle school levels using our unique curriculum in Robotics. We use LEGO’s, software, and fun themes to teach children fundamentals in mechanics, building, programming and problem solving.

We are based in the Bay Area, California and have expanded our team to Denver and Portland!


  • Hours are dependent on employee availability, but currently average a fluctuating 15 hours a week with flexibility to your needs.

  • Paid training is provided on a continuous basis.

  • Classes are 2 hours long and generally begin between 1:30 and 3:30 depending on the school.

  • Additional work duties, outside of the classroom, can be done remotely (from home) and include maintaining teaching equipment and preparing for classes. All work hours are tracked and logged by employees.

The JCC East Bay is a welcoming, inspiring home for people of all ages and life stages. Our award-winning preschool and highly regarded afterschool programs are known for their exciting curricula and dynamic staff. The afterschool program serves over 600 children at two public schools in Oakland, and at our /CC sites in Oakland and Berkeley. Our day camp, Camp Tzofim, is a popular choice for East Bay kids and parents during the summer, and we have a large, active delegation to the national JCC Maccabi Games every year.

Position Summary

The Afterschool Teacher participates in all functions of the Afterschool programs. Teachers prepare & direct weekly enrichment classes based on personal passions & skills. JCC East Bay welcomes qualified participants of all backgrounds and identities.

  • Supervise children, including strong attention to health, safety & planning, preparation & implementation of developmentally appropriate programs for children-grades K-5.

Description

Under the supervision of the Program Director, and in collaboration with another Early Childhood Clinical Supervisor, this position has the primary responsibility for providing supervision of both licensed and unlicensed mental health clinicians . The clinicians will primarily be working in the Early Childhood and Prevention program (0-5). Mental health services include: trauma-informed care, developmentally appropriate/sensitive assessments; development of a family centered treatment plan; providing developmentally appropriate mental health treatment; coordination of care with child welfare workers, parents, foster parents, medical home, and other collaterals; maintaining a written record of treatment, including initial assessments and treatment plans. Supervision responsibilities include: direct oversight of mental health clinicians’ work; reviewing clinicians’ notes, assessments and treatment plans to ensure compliance with MediCal requirements; providing guidance and assistance with the treatment of clients; weekly individual and group supervision.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited school preferred (LCSW from accredited school of social work, strongly desired)

Expertise in Birth-5/ Early Childhood model, required

Certification and ability to supervise in Child Parent Psychotherapy model preferred

Must be licensed with BBS and eligible to supervise

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Understanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of trauma and community-based mental health.

Schedule : Monday through Friday, full-time OR part-time considered, beginning ASAP

The Hearts Leap Schools are currently accepting resumes for Early Childhood teaching positions at our programs in Oakland and Berkeley!

Hearts Leap provides highly sought-after preschool programs that utilize Emergent Curriculum based on child-directed, Reggio-inspired and developmentally appropriate practices. We incorporate respectful and relationship-based practices that foster young children’s innate desire to explore and learn about their world. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of care to children ages two to five.

  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field 

  • 2+ years of experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children

  • Excellent references
