We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to become part of our team at Louisiana Internal Medicine & Pediatric Associates (LIMPA), the practice of Drs. Kenyatta Shamlin and Tasha Shamlin. You will perform vital administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. Candidates should have at least one (1) year of experience in this role.


Responsibilities:



  • Take and record vital signs

  • Update health maintenance records

  • Prepare treatment and examination rooms for patients

  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures

  • Take lab specimens and change wound dressings

  • Perform and order point of care routine lab tests

  • Sterilize equipment

  • Administer medications and document all tasks performed, i.e., Immunizations, injections

  • Update and maintain electronic medical records

  • Enter prescriptions and telephone refills to pharmacies as ordered


 


Qualifications:



  • One (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification
