Sr. Software Developer

Location:Princeton, NJ

Length 6-12 months contract

The candidates will perform in a server-side developer role or may also work on client side, and will also be responsible for writing requirements/ technical specifications/use cases. The candidates are expected to demonstrate expertise in web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Apache, AJAX and Rest, and have experience with XML and XPATH, in using multiple programming/scripting languages, developing automated test cases using the JUNIT Framework, and in cross browser development. The candidates are expected to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals. GBG is a consortium of entities and institutes, in the fields of molecular biology, medicinal chemistry and biotechnology. Our mission is to improve the patient’s quality of life by linking basic science and the development of diagnostic and pre-clinical treatments. We provide clinical laboratory services through a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing. The laboratory specializes in state of the art; automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious diseases. Our GBG members are also engaged in research and development of complex genetic tests, screening for potential drugs and drug targets, clinical trials and other research and academic collaborations.


The Genesis Biotechnology Group has an opening for a team-oriented Senior Software Developer responsible for supporting MDL and Venenum’s database applications. The ideal candidate must be a self starter, proficient in VB.Net with ASP.NET, C# and database programming. The successful candidate must be able to multitask on several software development and maintenance projects at a time.


Responsibilities:


· Work in all phases of the SDLC


· Develop and Maintain MySQL/Oracle database applications


· Assist in the technical design and architecture of enterprise systems


· Designing and developing asp.net applications


· Develop and Execute unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing and documentation


· Assist in performing Database Administration Functions


· Develop mobile applications for iOS and droid


Requirements:


· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.


· 5+ years of software development experience.


· Strong skills in ASP.Net and VB.Net web application development.


· Experience on enterprise level MySQL & Oracle relational databases.


· Strong skills in writing stored procedures and triggers.


· Must be familiar with database backup methodologies, query optimization, and database tuning.


· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.


· Experience with Crystal Reports and/or business objects.


· Working knowledge of all phases of the SDLC.


· Health care, Automation and robotics experience a plus.


· ChemAxon or Activity Base experience a plus.


· Must be a team player.


· Work closely with business analysts and technical team members to understand business and technical requirements.

  • Apply Business Intelligence, Analytics and Big Data techniques to turn data into information

  • Develop a deep understanding of the database, data model and relationships
