Please note, applicants must be at least 21 years old and make a commitment of service for a minimum of 6 months. A background check and references checks are required to secure employment, and our walkers travel between stops by car or bike. S'wooft employs all walkers as W2 employees.



• Dog walkers must be comfortable performing new client consultations, including a meet and greet of new clients and their pets, gathering detailed information about their needs and special requests, and collecting necessary completed paperwork.

• Walkers must be willing to take on all types of assignments within the standard M-F 10am-4pm walking hours, as well as evenings/weekends/vacation care as their schedule permits. This could include daily dog walks or cat care, each for a range of breeds and temperaments.

• Walkers ensure the safety of the dogs and those (humans and dogs) around them, as well as maintain home security when entering/exiting. They are also expected to reinforce any trainings or walking behaviors as outlined during new client consultations or meet and greets. 

• Even when it is raining or snowing, dogs need to go out! Walkers must be willing to drive/walk in inclement weather.

• Walkers will be required to check in with the office staff and software systems to confirm that everything has been completed to client specifications.

• Walkers must be comfortable holding keys to clients' homes and take responsibility to not lose keys or get locked out.

• Walkers must be comfortable using a smartphone and using each of three apps used for the job. Orientation for each app will be provided during training.

• Due to the bonding that occurs between a sitter and animal, we require at least a 6 month commitment.


Dog walkers are paid by direct on a bi-weekly basis with monthly income ranging about $650-1400+ depending on client needs and walker availability. We will discuss exact route and expected income based on your needs and qualifications.  All walkers are W2 employees and start at $13.50/hr, moving up to $14.50/hr with one year of tenure. In addition, they enjoy the following benefits:

Job Description

SBTC is seeking experience Field Support Technicians. Qualified candidates should be capable of working in multiple environments (on site with clients) under minimal supervision or direction.

Job Summary:

The Field Support Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing many different types of technology related issues in schools and other nonprofits supported by SBTC. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users with computer software, hardware or system problems.

  • Typical hardware and software to be worked on may include interactive boards (Smart, Promethean, other), document cameras, Apple and Android tablets, Windows and Apple desktops and laptops, printers, etc that may commonly be found in schools and office environments.

  • Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on client's premises.

  • Answer questions and resolve problems via telephone, e-mail, and web-based ticketing system.

  • Help manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.

  • Escalates to and assists network team in troubleshooting server, switch, and wireless issues.

  • Maintains documentation of all site equipment.

  • Maintain a very high degree of professionalism throughout all client and coworker interactions, in-person and written.

  • Bear in mind always that the trust and "feeling of support" from users is as important as the technical skill, and that customer service is thus as important as technology know-how.

  • Escalate tasks according to SBTC guidelines for networking, web, cabling, and other projects.


  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal interaction skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Several years in a technical field is preferred, to demonstrate a technical and engineering mindset

  • Customer service experience and qualifications are strongly encouraged

  • A+ and Network+ certifications are not required.  However, as a point of reference, if you cannot sit down and pass an A+ test immediately, you may not have enough technical knowledge to perform these duties.  We don't require a document, but the knowledge equivalent is definitely appropriate

  • Your own reliable transportation.  You will be assigned to a few sites that you will spend all day at, but there is no guarantee that a site is near a train or bus line.  This is a requirement for this position, period.

Organizational Background  Founded in late 2007, Chicago Run is a nonprofit organization that provides innovative running and fitness programs for children and youth in schools, community centers, and affordable housing communities. Our mission is to promote the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs. We currently reach over 18,000 youth annually, from Pre-K through high school and beyond, in 36 distinct neighborhoods. Through our high-quality, enriching physical activity programs, we aim to enhance the health and wellbeing of Chicago’s youth while developing critical skills for healthy development. We focus programming in under-resourced communities that disproportionately experience health disparities and lack the resources to foster healthy child development. We recently launched a Chicago Run 2.0 strategic growth plan and are embarking on an exciting path to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and build a more robust evidence base.   

Position Summary In collaboration with Up2Us Sports, Chicago Run seeks an Up2Us Coach to work alongside the Chicago Run Program Team to support growth and development of our programming in sites across the city of Chicago. This is a part-time AmeriCorps service position ending on July 31, 2020. Within that year of service, the member will perform a minimum of 900 hours of community service, receive a living allowance of $7,770. After the coach’s term completion, the coach will receive an education award of $2,960, forbearance of educational loans, health care options, and training and support. The Up2Us Coach will be responsible for managing relationships, routine communication, and directly delivering programs at  the schools and site partners. This position will be integral to the success of Chicago Run programming.   

Responsibilities   The Up2Us Coach is responsible for the day-to-day Chicago Runners program at cohort A-C school sites and A-C Running Mates sites. In addition, the Coach will:   

Program Implementation (70%)

  • Lead running and physical activity sessions with elementary school students in the Chicago Runners program during the school day

  • Lead or co-lead after-school running practices with Running Mates team(s)

  • Assist with Chicago Run Alumni Team, LACE Up!

  • Attend Chicago Run related events in which student-athletes participate

  • Conduct weekly site visits to participating Chicago Run schools/sites

  • Provide documentation of weekly site visits at each school and offer recommendations based on observations to teachers and students

  • Conduct physical activity-related trainings for parents, teachers and other site staff to meet the unique needs of each school/site

  • Maintain regular communication with school Site Coordinators, Principals, and other staff via email, phone, and in person

  • Help identify and troubleshoot any issues with program delivery

  • Provide weekly reports regarding status of programs and relationships with schools/sites

  • Aid in the development and enhancement of the over-all health and wellness environment at schools/sites and implement innovative physical activity and nutrition-based projects

  • Make exercise FUN for students and staff!   

Program Logistics (20%) 

  • Help teachers and students with uploading participants on database, updating school information, and monitoring progress of schools and classes 

  • Manage Chicago Run Virtual Marathon Database as part of the Chicago Runners program with the students’ marathon routes and mileage 

  • Ensure delivery of incentives to schools (t-shirts, lanyards, water bottles, and awards); informs students about the importance of the incentives and goal-setting 

  • Preform program evaluations (PACER, surveys, etc.) and ensure participants have uniforms, snacks and supplies as part of Running Mates program   

Event Support (10%) 

  • Assist with the organization of school kick-off events; 

  • Provide support and coordinate logistics for Fun Run celebratory events with students and teachers; 

  • Facilitate program trainings for school personnel and students; 

  • Provide support at all Running Mates team-building events and races throughout the season 

  • Supports the Program Team and broader staff as needed on additional tasks and projects   

Additionally, the AmeriCorps Up2Us Coach will: 

  • Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport, using lessons learned at Up2Us Sports’ best in class training events;  

  • Perform data collection activities such as directed by your Up2Us Sports Program Manager;  

  • Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served.    

  • Attendance at the Up2Us Coach orientation 

  • Completion of bi-weekly timesheets 

  • Attendance at a day of service project(s) 

  • Attend/participate in Up2Us Sports trainings, meetings, and special initiatives 

  • Attend Coach Training Institute (9/6/19-9/10/19) 


  • An ideal candidate will be 18 years of age or older, a US      citizen legally allowed to work in the US, and have a minimum 3 years-experience playing or coaching a sport. Candidates must have a High School diploma, GED, or its equivalent

  • Demonstrates a passion for Chicago Run’s mission and advancing adolescent health and wellness

  • Has familiarity and interest in working with youth programs, great enthusiasm for working in Chicago Public Schools and be comfortable working with diverse populations

  • Must have a car and be willing to travel to schools throughout the city as part of his/her daily schedule. Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 lbs

  • Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented

  • Has experience with basic software programs, including Microsoft Office

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses flexibility

  • Has strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships and communicate with a diverse array of stakeholders

Working Conditions  

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This is a half-time position, and the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends and dedicates a year of part-time service for this position
