Ideal candidates have a strong work ethic, are hospitality minded, always put forth their best effort, excellent communication skills, follow directions and guidance from supervisory and management team, able to work well with others and adhere to safety and sanitation regulations, possess a sense of urgency, pay attention to the "little things", and are able to function in a high volume, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.   


  • Assist in all functions of serving including but not limited to order taking, basic food prep, furniture set up, table setting, buffet setting, serving, bussing, clean-up of food items, re-setting, room maintenance, and other serving-related procedures. 

  • Serve guests as needed including dishing plates, pouring coffee, delivering plates, directing movement, etc. 

  • Prepare basic food items: pouring sauces, dipping ice cream, serving dessert, and pouring drinks and other general tasks as assigned. 

  • Enter order information into POS computer program for tracking of resident meals. 

  • Clean up preparation area, serving area, tables, place settings etc. 

  • Wash dishes and equipment used in catered events. 

  • Maintain organization of dining room related items such as food display items, linens, tableware and furniture. 

  • Organize and put away all items used for dining room operations. 


  • Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow instructions in English in order to interpret and explain the menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests. 

  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution with fine dining preferred; willing to train.  

  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.  


  • Work indoors; must be able to stand/walk up to 100% of the work day. 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently

  • Must be able to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 30 lbs. independently

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the work day.
