About the Salon Manager position


The Salon/Location Manager is responsible for and is key to the success of the salon. The Salon Manager will work closely with the CEO/Owner to define and implement Marketing Strategies, Manage and develop salon staff, and ensure smooth operations of the salon. These responsibilities in each of these areas will include:


Salon Management



  • Manage the recruiting, hiring, training, development and assessment of salon staff to assure a high-performing team with strong stylist retention.

  • Oversee salon staff development and training. Responsible for timely successful completion of all required courses based on the employee’s role.

  • Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to all staff, hold staff accountable for desired results. Work with owner to conduct staff performance & pay reviews on time and provide a balanced mix of positive and constructive feedback to the staff.

  • Ensure salons are adequately staffed to provide high quality customer service and maintain salon productivity and profitability. Establish employee schedules, time-off and other requests, consulting with the CEO/Owner as needed.

  • Run weekly huddles with the salon mangers to ensure goals, trends, training, marketing and any other communication is disseminated to the staff of each salon.

  • Working with the CEO/Owner, conduct quarterly coaching sessions with stylists and manage any necessary disciplinary counseling meetings,

  • Be overall responsible for maintaining a positive culture within each salon. Ensure that all staff members know and are honoring the core values of The Lash Lounge at all times and delivering outstanding service to our guests.


Customer Service & Marketing



  • Closely work with the CEO/Owner to develop and implement quarterly marketing strategy. Implement marketing and retention campaigns and promotions in the POS system.

  • Develop in marketing ideas based on salon trends and needs. Manage assigned marketing tasks such as social media posting, attending events, B2B cross-promoting, and others as required. Network with various focus groups, influencers and local community groups promoting The Lash Lounge salon.

  • Ensure the expected “white-glove” customer service experience is being provided by the salon staff members. Handle any customer related issues and work with individual stylists/front desk staff to implement a customer focused solution.

  • Be intimately involved in the client retention, feedback and loyalty program. Work with the CEO/Owner to create internal processes and ensure they are consistently followed at each salon.

  • Use marketing tools for The Lash Lounge to perform and ensure follow up and retention activities are performed by the staff. It is critical to make the client feel wanted.


Business Operations



  • Work with the Front Desk staff to ensure retail shelves, stylists’ carts, customer amenities stations etc. are adequately stocked. Responsible adequate supplies being available at all times by managing inventory counts, restocking, merchandising, and backbar control. Ensure staff is equipped with all required items they need to contribute to the overall success of the salon.

  • Work with Front Desk staff to ensure front desk coverage. Cover for front desk if & when needed.



  • Assist the CEO/Owner for financial and accounting matters including weekly bank deposits, bill payments, monthly credit card reconciliation, payroll and general salon accounting. Work with the CEO/Owner to prepare revenue and expense projections for the salon.

  • Stay up-to-date with Lash Lounge’s systems, processes and new roll-outs. Consistently follow all organization’s policies, practices and procedures.

  • Alert CEO/Owner and coordinate any repairs, maintenance and purchases needed for the salon.



  • Perform other special projects, work and activities as assigned.

  • Keeps salon owner aware of any issues that are going on in the salon and suggests productive solutions to resolve them in order to ensure smooth daily operation of the salon.


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Cosmetology License with 3 years of experience required.

  • Management experience in beauty industry and/or hospitality industry will be a significant plus.

  • Excellent customer service skills and background. Outgoing and very strong relationship-builder.

  • Active listening skills and strong verbal communication abilities

  • Has the Servant-Leader mindset and gains respect of the staff.

  • Provides support to the Sport Clips Management/Coaching Teams

Administrative Duties:



  • Schedules Team Members using the Hourly Load report and the Scheduling Tool at least one per month

  • Completes the store Weekly Sales Analysis (“WSA”) and stylists WSA and submits to the Team Leader

  • Plans for and conducts performance evaluations, coaching and counseling sessions

  • Controls cash, gift certificates and season tickets

  • Records and submits Team Member payroll

  • Maintains and ensures inventory is taken.

  • Performs Coordinator duties at the Reception desk, when necessary
