 McGrail Vineyards and Winery is a family owned Livermore Valley Winery that is looking for a passionate, hard working, detail oriented, flexible wine loving, customer service oriented person to join our tasting room team.  We are looking for someone Thursday-Monday. This can be a part-time or full time position. This opportunity is great for someone that loves WINE and customers!

We are hard-working, family-oriented, food and wine loving, loyal, fun loving folks with stunning wines and great views. We're a get it done, team work, all hands on deck kinda place.

We are looking for dynamic and meticulous team members that are passionate about wine and fabulous customer service! You must LOVE wine and LOVE building relationships.

What you'll be doing once our tasting room is able to open back up:

-Greet guests, make them feel welcome

-Ensure staff and guests are safe during this pandemic

-Present history of winery and focus of our brands

-Tasting: pouring wines with conversation; educational and current winery direction

-Promote Winery Clubs and Winery events

-Selling Wine

-Assist with functions necessary for a successful shift -- opening and closing duties, restocking of wines, non-wine items, food items, sanitizing between each guest, cleaning and organization of kitchen area and tasting room(s), glassware cleaning, drying and restocking, assist with periodic duties check restrooms, merchandising areas, setting up tables and chairs inside and out, check garbage inside and outside of building

While the tasting room is closed, we are looking to train someone and have someone assist with curbside pick ups.

Wine knowledge preferred. Excellent customer service, people and communication skills. Basic math, writing skills, and computer skills a must. Must speak English fluently. Team Player. Over 21 years old.

-Requires the ability to stand, for potentially long periods of time throughout the workday.

-Must be able to lift 42 lbs. (case of wine)

We are a boutique Wine & Spirits shop in a residential area in White Plains. Our focus is smaller producers and our team tastes and selects each wine that goes on our shelves. In addition, we provide high-touch customer service to every visitor to our store. That includes assisting customers one-on-one, introducing them to selections outside their typical comfort zone, and hosting organized regular tastings and events. Above all else, our mission is to place quality, thoughtfully-made wines in the hands of our customers.


 


We’re currently hiring for a position with our Retail Floor team. Candidates should have a passion for wine & spirits and enthusiasm for learning on the job. While we maintain an organized & well-kept Retail shop, our team is equally focused on growth through events, corporate sales, partnerships, & e-commerce. Team members should be prepared to work in a fast-paced organization that is constantly seeking out & testing new initiatives. As we continue to grow, team members will have additional opportunity to build on their skills & interests – whether that be in marketing, editorial, events, or corporate sales.


 


About You:



  • Passion for wine & spirits including tasting, talking about, and selling it.

  • Self-identify as a “wine nerd.” Learning the intricacies of wine fascinates you.

  • Excellent communication skills and a vibrant personality.

  • A resourceful and motivated self-starter, before you ask questions you google for answers.

  • Careful & organized, you excel at multi-tasking & keeping track of the smallest details.

  • Are reliable, on-time, and available certain evenings & weekends.

  • Experience in Wine, Food & Beverage, Restaurants and/or Hospitality

  • Have the ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting up to 40lbs, standing, squatting, & climbing.


About the Job:



  • Interact with customers & answer questions no matter how seemingly bizarre or minor.

  • Serve as the key contact for our Distributor Partners in regards to inventory & purchasing decisions.

  • Take ownership of the weekly purchasing process & seek out opportunities to improve our process.

  • Manage outgoing deliveries & fulfillment of customer requests.

  • Assist in the ongoing training our team, helping everyone further expand their knowledge.

  • Schedule & plan our regular events calendar including tastings, grand tastings, & educational events.

  • Brainstorm & implement new ideas to further improve our merchandising.

  • Take on additional projects in other areas, based on interests & need, including social media, event management, group sales, etc…

    Requirements:





  • High diploma or equivalent


  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and some holidays


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience with 1 year retail



  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable
