We're a New Orleans inspired casual dining cafe-style restaurant near the Ashby BART Station. We need a person for both front and back-of-house (everybody does both). We need a cashier, wait person, busser aka bus person, server, runner, prep cook AND dishwasher. Everyone here does everything. Essentially, we want a jack of all trades, master of some kind of person. It would help to have had management experience but it’s not required. What is required is to send a resume. Don't just swing by to chat with us. We will contact folks to come in for interviews.

Availability: We are open 7 days a week, AM and PM. Must be available to work some weekend shifts, evenings, etc.

Experience: Y'all MUST have service experience of some type. Managerial experience strongly preferred. Fast track to manager for motivated individual.

Don't Stress Out: Gots to be able to multi-task with a level head. Things get stressful. You need to deal with your stuff and make sure everyone else is too and supporting one another to boot.

Down With Other Humans: Gotta be able to get along with all types of folk. This is a must. Our staff and customers cross all lines of race, orientation, and ideology. It's grotesque that this is an issue, but: if you can't take orders from a woman please don't waste our time by applying. Most of the management is female. Also, no racists or fascists, thanks.

Service skills: Knowing how to interact with the public and be patient with them is critical. Our joint is unusual and we have to be proactive with making people feel comfortable and explaining our wacky jazz. We're mostly cynical curmudgeons, but everyone has to be able to exude sunshine and lollipops despite their potential existential disillusionment.

Clean Driving Record: We have extra hours and extra money for someone who can drive to offsite catering and do setups.

As previously mentioned: everybody does everything. You're gonna help customers, plate entrees, wash dishes, dice vegetables, mop floors, bake corn bread, dice plates, mop entrees, bake customers, and wash corn bread. Everything. (Except the main cooking, that is.) Pay is $15-17 an hour plus a piece of the tip jar to start.

SEND A RESUME, for Cthulhu's sake.

Job Description

Now hiring salaried leaders at all levels in the DFW area!

Career need a jump start? Tired of the corporate rat race, where the decision-makers are far removed from the front lines?

If you want to work in a true family-oriented culture, where the owners are Operators(not accountants and lawyers) and actually know your name, and where you'll have a REAL opportunity to grow your career, look no further. Whether you have one year of restaurant experience, or 20 years, we may be your perfect fit.

Let’s get one thing straight. A “manager” at your current job is probably one of the main reasons you’re looking for another job. A “manager” is that guy who is the “them” when your co-workers at your current job say “It’s us vs. them”. A “manager” is someone who sits behind a desk and tells people what to do and when to do it.

With our Client, you aren’t a “manager”, you’re a “Coach”. A “Coach” is that guy who spent an hour after every Little League baseball practice teaching you how to throw a curveball. Your seventh grade teacher that tutored you after school teaching you algebra, even though you knew she had her own kids to go home to…she was a “Coach”. A “Coach” stays at the restaurant until 6:00am helping an employee get through a bad breakup with her boyfriend.

So what makes this such a great & unique opportunity? Well, first of all you get to work for a company that was named 4th Fastest Growing Company in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal, so there is plenty of room for advancement.

We are consistently recognized as the best sports bar and chicken wing restaurant in the cities we are located. In fact, in January of 2012, USA Today named us one of the “Top 10 Wing Restaurants” in America. Later that year, ESPN named us one of the Top 5 Sports Bars in North America.
And we plan on opening even more
Our goal is to spread across Texas, Louisiana and beyond. We believe that no other restaurant in America has the same combination of homemade food and a great atmosphere for watching sports. We think that every sports and wing fan deserves a chance to enjoy our unique restaurant. We hope you agree!

We are an equal opportunity employer.
We are an equal opportunity employer. Applicants are considered for positions without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, citizenship status, military service, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local laws.
We will verify all of your references.
In addition to your supervisors, we want to talk with your co-workers and anyone who may have worked for you in your past positions. If we cannot check your references, we cannot consider you for employment, so be sure you have valid names and phone numbers. It does not matter if they still work for your old company or not. In fact, we often get better information from people who have taken other jobs. Please be sure that all references know to expect a call from us and has your permission to talk with us. It will require some work on your part, but then, it takes a little extra effort to succeed in this business!
We will verify all information you give us.
Any false or misleading statements will disqualify you from consideration, no matter how talented you may be. Please understand that we are not as concerned with what you tell us, as we are that you give the truth. Honesty is always the best policy…especially if you hope to become part of our team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years salaried leadership experience in a Casual Dining or Sports Bar concept

  • Energetic, positive attitude, with a "can-do" mindset

  • Willing to work restaurant hours, including nights, weekends and Holidays

  • Must be a hands-on leader willing to work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team- no "back-office" Managers

To be considered for this opportunity, please send us your resume(in STRICT confidence). If your experience is a potential match, we will contact you within 2 business days.
