We are a family owned and operated mid-sized food manufacturing facility in Santa Clara California looking for a Quality Control Technician.

Position will involve assisting the Quality Manager with day to day activities relating to food safety and quality, record tracking including but not limited to inspection verifications, and ensuring GMP compliance. The QC Technician will perform QC checks, assist with documentation, and support compliance needs.

Responsibilities include (Other duties may be assigned):

· Responsible for verification of monitoring of Preventative Controls and CCPs.

· Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process

· Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.

· Works with the QA team to collect environmental samples.

· Responsible for monitoring the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.

· Ensures employees are following all Food Safety, GMP, and worker safety practices.

· Participates in educating employees on food safety and SQF standards.

· Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory when directed.

· Perform inspections and participate in internal audits.

This position will be in the production area a good portion of the production day, ensuring that production crew adhere to the GMP’s, SOP’s, set procedures and newly adapted changes as needed for production quality control. Will also ensure that the implementation of corrective action by the production associates is done correctly.

Qualifications and Experience

· Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in food science, biology or relevant science a plus

· HACCP certification and experience (required)

· PCQI certification or experience (preferred)

· Computer skills: MS Office (required)

· Quality Control: at least 1 year (required)

· Experience with inspection of food safety systems, meticulous attention to detail

· Experience with data recording and tracking

Experience with:

- Good Manufacturing Practices

- Product Quality Control

- Internal Audits

· Experience with Food Manufacturing industry required

· Spanish speaking strongly preferred

Supplier Quality Engineer


Implements Stratosphere Quality’s quality containment processes; works with customers and their suppliers to identify root cause issues and implements appropriate corrective actions. Develops and drives action plan improvements in fast paced manufacturing environments. Provides regular support in teaching, educating and influencing the organization in overall quality containment expertise.


The person in this role will provide pre-production support by working with engineering to confirm BOM and part design revision level, confirm with supplier planning and timing, review all parts ahead of submission/use, and follow up any issues in obtaining the correct level and quantity of parts in addition to these essential functions:



  • Responsible for assisting customers and suppliers in the development of quality control plans and/or quality improvement plans

  • Drives resolution of supplier issues causing production of non-conforming product

  • Implements Automotive OEM Quality Systems in the supply chain

  • Develops quality system improvements

  • Assists in developing and training quality engineering teams

  • Conducts periodic audits & assessments of suppliers to aid in the corrective action process

  • Assisting in the evaluation of supplier product and/or processes, including inspection and testing per controlled documents

  • Assists in the evaluation and processing of supplier non-conforming product

  • Develops, plans, implements and monitors a standardized organizational approach to automotive containment processes and practices

  • Develops and maintains standard organization containment process documents such as SOPs and Work Instructions

  • Performs organizational audit activities to ensure consistent and effective compliance to containment methods, ISO 9000 system and company procedures

  • Develops relationships with internal customers to drive continuous improvement

  • Identifies best methods of job set up, inspection processes and containment management ensuring best practices are implemented, understood and applied at all levels

  • Ensures all safety and location policies are followed


Knowledge of standard automotive APQP protocols is essential in this role, in addition to the following requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business preferred or 7+ years’ experience within automotive quality or equivalent experience

  • Experience with the launch of automotive product or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge of OEM/Tier 1 automotive quality containment processes such as; GP-12, CS1, CS2, SSC, etc.

  • In depth knowledge of various quality system tools and methodologies such as APQP, FEMAs, PPAP, 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Gage R&R, Capability Studies

  • Strong knowledge of inspection and containment preferred

  • Six Sigma knowledge preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working in ISO/TS systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

This is advanced level technical and managerial work, supervising both design and construction engineers on a Design Build (DB) of highway and bridges construction project. Potential candidates will function as a manager over areas of structure and roadway construction inspection, materials sampling, inspection, testing, and review of design parameters. Candidate must have the ability to develop quality assurance program and implementation. This position will involve a wide range of decision making and use of Engineering judgment and will include providing work direction to others. Potential candidate will report to a senior project manager.


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in highway construction. Considerable knowledge of design of highway and bridge construction, including geometry, alignment, cross sections etc., and skills in the use of office equipment such computers and applicable software such as eBuilder. Ability to read, interpret and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures; ability to take notes and prepare or review reports; good communicative ability; and supervisory ability to coordinate the activities of lower level employees and instruct them in proper work methods.


 


Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: The PQAM shall be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia and have at least ten (10) years of recent experience in the design or quality management of major urban freeway projects. Graduation from a university with a degree in civil engineering or from a four-year college with a degree in civil engineering technology and ten years of progressive transportation management technical experience will be preferred. This position functions as a member of the product manufacturing team as clients us the products in their Chip Fabrication Plants. You will work with the Manufacturing teams of the client to understand current issues or concerns in regard to quality and product performance. Through interactive exchange and discussion your colleagues in the product manufacturing team will ensure quality objectives are met. Core Duties:



  • Prepares internal and external documents.

  • Interface to customer for quality related items and customer audits.

  • Some leadership experience is highly desired


REQUIRED SKILLS:



  • Knowledge of statistical techniques such as Statistical Process Control for manufacturing process improvement and JMP application for data analysis.

  • Knowledge of and experience with QC tools used for problem solving; 5 Whys and Ishikawa/Fishbone diagram

  • Knowledge of measurement precision / capability analysis techniques such as gauge R&R.

  • Able to maintain ISO documents and record control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


· Prepare quality plans for new parts and processes and complete part process qualifications following PPAP formats.


· Conduct and support investigations of manufacturing nonconformity and recommend, develop, and implement effective corrective actions.


· Provide technical assistance and advice to all functional areas regarding quality system requirements and procedures.


· Verify that established quality and production processes are being followed to provide defect free components and help administer corrective action when it is found that the processes are not being followed.
