We are a family owned and operated mid-sized food manufacturing facility in Santa Clara California looking for a Quality Control Technician.

Position will involve assisting the Quality Manager with day to day activities relating to food safety and quality, record tracking including but not limited to inspection verifications, and ensuring GMP compliance. The QC Technician will perform QC checks, assist with documentation, and support compliance needs.

Responsibilities include (Other duties may be assigned):

· Responsible for verification of monitoring of Preventative Controls and CCPs.

· Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process

· Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.

· Works with the QA team to collect environmental samples.

· Responsible for monitoring the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.

· Ensures employees are following all Food Safety, GMP, and worker safety practices.

· Participates in educating employees on food safety and SQF standards.

· Collect product samples for Product Development, lab retains and the laboratory when directed.

· Perform inspections and participate in internal audits.

This position will be in the production area a good portion of the production day, ensuring that production crew adhere to the GMP’s, SOP’s, set procedures and newly adapted changes as needed for production quality control. Will also ensure that the implementation of corrective action by the production associates is done correctly.

Qualifications and Experience

· Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in food science, biology or relevant science a plus

· HACCP certification and experience (required)

· PCQI certification or experience (preferred)

· Computer skills: MS Office (required)

· Quality Control: at least 1 year (required)

· Experience with inspection of food safety systems, meticulous attention to detail

· Experience with data recording and tracking

Experience with:

- Good Manufacturing Practices

This role requires interactions with customers, quality peers, Product managers, site operations, manufacturing engineers and R&D and requires a highly organized, motivated and driven individual, with strong interpersonal, communication skills and a collaborative/ customer focused mindset.

Specific responsibilities include:


  • Lead Cross functional reviews to monitor and ensure that all cases raised by customers are resolved in a timely manner, to align with the customer complaint responsiveness requirements.


  • Review and participate in Root Cause Analysis to support robust investigations, prevent reoccurrence of issues and drive mitigations.


  • Lead, support and review Quality Risk Analysis as part of the complaint process.


  • Mentor/coach and hold accountable others that have critical roles in the case/complaint management to ensure cross functional engagement and alignment to support robust investigations and customer complaint responsiveness requirements.


  • Interface directly with customers and internal groups to resolve customer complaint Investigations and drive robust root cause analysis.


  • Review and approve documentation supporting investigations such as verification protocols/reports, Risk assessments, technical reports etc.


  • Author investigation & technical summary reports, customer memos and CAPA summary reports


  • Identify, develop and review CAPAs, ensuring robust effectiveness checks.


  • Review and approve appropriate criteria for closure of complaints


  • Own and communicate process KPIs during Quality Management Reviews and monthly management report-outs


  • Continuously work to improve the process and ensure alignment to the needs of the customers

Qualifications/Requirements:

Are you a Lead Quality Assurance Automation Engineer or Senior QA Automation Engineer with a keen understanding of .NET test automation tools for desktop software? Are you a QA Lead or Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with experience managing/leading a team in .NET test automation for desktop software? Are you a QA Lead or Lead Automation Engineer with experience in .NET, automation, and leadership? If you’re a Senior QA Engineer with strong .NET automation testing for desktop software (and ideally Saas as well) who really understands the business impact of QA, this Lead QA Automation Engineer role could be a great fit! This Pittsburgh-based software company is a well-established player in the health tech space, providing a leading software platform for their industry. They are going through great growth are looking to bring on a Lead QA Automation Engineer to update their testing protocols. You Will: Create and implement automation frameworks and scripts, test strategies, and defect reports desktop software, some SaaS as well Collaborate with the Dev team to address bug reports and recreate user issues Bring existing automated and manual tests up to date Fully document testing procedures to guarantee standards compliance and accuracy Work on special projects at the request of the VP of Technology Utilize Agile sprint planning Directly lead the QA team, including coaching, productivity monitoring, meetings, and training (you'll report into QA Manager) You Will Need: Desktop software QA Automation experience a MUST! SaaS is a plus skill Sharp skills in automated testing frameworks like Selenium A Bachelor’s (or better) in Computer Science or a related field Experience as a Lead Engineer/Tester, desire to help mentor others Strong SQL, Web Technologies, .NET, and scripting skills Solid understanding of the SDLC, Agile experience Good problem solving and organizational skills HUGE plus if you’ve built automation frameworks HUGE plus if you have held a Software Engineer role in the past You Will Get: Competitive Compensation + strong benefits Opportunity to define the testing process Excellent work/life balance Strong growth potential If you’re a QA Lead with great automation experience who really “gets” QA, please apply today!
