The Animator + Junior Editor is an integral part of the Storytelling Studio at Allison Partners. As the production engine for one the fastest growing integrated communications firms in the world, members of the Storytelling Studio are responsible for developing compelling content for leading brands in the consumer, tech, food, hospitality and non-profit sectors. The Animator + Junior Editor plays an integral role in the entire production process including concepting, design, production, post-production and delivery. This role is specifically focused on creating content that is deployed on social media, employing established best practices and creating new approaches that produce shares and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Expert in: creative concepting, design, animation and motion graphics, title sequence design, lower third design, transitions, interstitials, compositing and sound design

  • Proficient In: live-action editing and color correction

  • Deep understanding of social media, including content best practices, emerging trends, platform formats and posting requirements

  • Skilled and conscious of art creation that aligns with a client's brand identity

  • Illustrate elements from scratch and compile elements from stock assets.

  • Work directly with a team of creative directors, producers, editors, and other artists to create a cohesive piece

  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

Qualifications


  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office a must

  • Candidates should have a minimum 3 years of design and animation experience

  • Experience working across multiple projects at the same time and meeting hard deadlines

  • Must have excellent design, typography and layout skills - attention to detail is critical

  • A love of design, motion graphics and storytelling

  • Strong concept development and creative collaboration skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as this position requires working closely with Designers, Editors, Creative Directors, Writer/Producers and Strategists

• Operate 40” sheetfed offset press as required for production of various printed materials, primarily direct mail, according to job specifications and production schedule


• Set-up printing presses by loading stock; mounting and setting printing plates and cylinders; adjusting pressures and tensions; and setting computer controls


• Maintain printing quality by continuously checking production run, comparing proof copies, measuring ink density and adjusting ink distribution

As a Flexo Board Operator you will…



  • Check to ensure all required materials are at press side.

  • Determine sequence of printing sleeves, and anilox rolls.

    • Note: Steps 1 and 2 should be completed during the job you are currently printing.


  • Operate Martin Automatic unwind and rewind system

  • Proper set-up and clean-up of chambered doctor blade units.

  • Make machine adjustments as required to maintain a quality product.

  • Make Color correction to formulas and dispense ink using the Nova Flow unit.

  • Check and monitor solid color reproduction using the spectrodensitometer.

  • Power down and lock out machine to safely clear jam-ups or paper breaks.

  • Maintain continuous checks to ensure product quality and accuracy.

  • Report product labor data for work center as required and report all material and rejected material.

  • Check that all guards and safety devices are in place and functioning before operating the machine.

  • Check and replace doctor blades, end seals, hoses and any other wear parts on the machine as required by color coded calendar.

  • Recognize machine problems and communicate with maintenance as necessary.

Must have experience in this field to be considered. Candidate must know how to set up and operate machine.

We have 2nd and 3rd shifts available.

Job Description:

1) Sets up and operates flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film, paper, and nonabsorbent stock for use in making products, such as plastic, paper, or waxed paper bags, and paper drinking cups: Reads job order and mounts specified rubber plate and printing dies on cylinder, installs cylinder on shaft, and secures assembly in bed of press.

2) Fills dye fonts with prescribed inks or dyes.

3) Moves levers to engage dye rolls, adjusting position of cylinder to print two or more colors without overlapping or smearing previously printed area.

4) Inserts shaft through core of paper or plastic roll and secures roll on press in feed position.

5) Splices end of roll to trailer sheet remaining in press, using tape, and turns handwheel to regulate roll tension and feed as directed.

6) Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of printing plate as necessary.

7) Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.

8) Cleans rubber plate, cylinder, and dye fonts, using solvent, and lubricates press as needed, using grease gun.

9) May mix inks or dyes to produce desired colors.

10) May operate press equipped with laminator attachment to print and laminate polyethylene or cellophane sheeting.

11) May operate press that prints, cuts, and folds paper stock to make paper napkins.
