BASIC STEPS LEARNING CENTER would like to train a teacher assistant for 3-4 weeks to become a Lead PreK TEACHER. Our lead, experienced teachers will guide the teacher assistant on how to effectively manage a classroom. Teacher Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (a) monitoring the young (3-5 years old) children's behaviors in the classroom and during playtime, (b) getting classroom materials ready for the class, (c) giving children snacks and taking them to the bathroom and (d) doing some cleaning at the school.

Schedule (Flexible) -- 8:15am to 12:30pm (Mon - Fri)

Qualifications:


  1. Must be currently enrolled in a college program or already has obtained a AA/BA degree in education or related field

  2. Comfortable assisting a large classroom of 20-24 young children

  3. Not afraid of children crying, changing/cleaning them, and assisting them in the bathroom

  4. Is motivated to help improve the learning programs/curriculum

  5. Responsible, Punctual, Reliable and Flexible

  6. Has a reliable vehicle

  7. Have some experience with children (for example, babysitting, volunteering, playing, etc.)

  8. Preferred qualifications: Have basic piano skills

Compensation: $14-15/hr DOE + Education

Age groups: (6 weeks to 5 years old)


A teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally they responsible to work together with all teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty and have a love for teaching young children.


Responsibilities:



  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment for all children in your care.

  • Planning, documenting and implementing curriculum (depending on position)

  • Advance children's physical and intellectual competence.

  • Support each child's social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.

  • Establish positive and effective family relations.

  • Daily electronic and verbal communication with parents.

  • Ensure an effective program, responsive to children's needs.

  • Maintain professional commitment.


Qualifications:


  • Meet state requirements for childcare center teacher including but not limited to: STARS basic certificate, DCYF trainings, cleared background check through merit, Negative TB, MMR immunization, CPR/FA/BBP, Severe Allergy Training Certificate, Food Handlers Permit, etc.

Preferred qualifications:



  • Stackable certificate, Associates degree, Bachelors degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related field.

  • Candidate currently taking or interested in talking ECE courses (Not a mandatory pre-requirement)

Green Lake Preschool housed in the Green Lake Church of Seventh-day Adventists across from beautiful Green Lake is looking for a child-centered, kind and gentle individual who loves to work with young children ages 1-2. We have been providing top quality childcare to the Green Lake community for more than thirty years and exists as a separate nonprofit from the church. This teacher will be a member of the fantastic Green Lake Preschool team that includes 3 classrooms and will partner in their classroom with an experienced lead teacher and 2nd assistant teacher. Green Lake Preschool is NAEYC accredited and has a maximum student enrollment of 12 students with three teachers. The scheduled hours for this position are 9 am – 6 pm.
