Hummingbird Music School is hiring music teachers for group classes and private lessons. Piano, Rock Band, Ukulele, Guitar, and Vocal Classes are held at elementary and middle schools in San Carlos, Redwood City and Menlo Park, Monday-Friday between 1:00-4:00pm. Each class is 45 minutes weekly. Teacher to student ratio is ~1:8. Hummingbird Music School provides all equipment.

Private Lessons are scheduled primarily in the afternoons (between 3:00-8:00pm) at students' homes in San Carlos, Redwood City and Menlo Park. There is typically very little driving between lessons.

Arts For All, Inc. (AFA) is seeking piano instructors to teach students ages 4+. Classes are one hour long. Teachers need to be comfortable teaching a variety of ages, motivation levels, income and education levels. Class size is usually 3-5 students using keyboards. The instructor will be teaching beginning level students and most instructors use the Alfred Method for instruction. Instructors need to have experience in teaching piano and approximately 3-5 years of their own piano education. Opportunities to substitute for other piano instructors may be provided. As our program grows, there may also be other opportunities to teach.  The pay is $11/hour with one additional hour each teaching day designated for class prep.

AFA classes run on a semester schedule, with the current Summer semester running from June 4- July 28. AFA offers classes from five different locations throughout the Greater Omaha area.     B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    1. Teach music instrument and music theory


    2. Demonstrate a passion for working with Children in a learning environment


    3. Collaborate as a team player


    4. Assist with the Kids Music Program and Summer Program when needed. Assist with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment and recreational setting,


    5. Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities


    6. Assist the Director of Group Leader in the planning, teaching of lessons, homework support, and activities.


    7. Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging children to follow rules.


    8. Assist in general set up and clean up of program area and with the closing/opening of the facility

    The School of Rock Madison is a fast paced work environment that requires our employees to be very outgoing and to work well with kids aging from 5-18.     Summary: The School of Rock Music Instructor teaches students from all ends of the spectrum, working on music from The Stones to Zappa to Bruno Mars. The Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and insures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.


     


    In support of that goal, each instructor is responsible for all music and education-related elements within the lessons. The instructor creates a dynamic lesson experience to insure their students are challenged and inspired. The instructor embodies Rock N' Roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student lesson experience possible. We teach five core areas at the School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Our instructors have multi-instrumental capabilities.
