General Summary

Your primary mission in this position would be to empower our current staff to perform to the best of their abilities and reach their maximum potential. Essentially you'd be a coach to them. You would lead our team of 9 walkers and engage with our 150+ clients while working directly with the owner and business manager to ensure the company runs smoothly. You’d be a part of our management triad. It is our primary focus to find someone with the skills for this position who believes in that line.

 

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Walk with each member of the staff in consistent rotations.

WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION, JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • 1+ years management or asst management experience with progressively more responsibility managing multi-person teams.

  • High School Graduate or GED, Bachelors preferred.

  • 1+ years owning or handling dogs.

  • Must live in San Francisco, no Bay Bridge commuters.

  • Must own a SUV/van/wagon/truck with bed-cover. No exception, unless you buy one.

  • Must be able to pet sit in your home.

Pet Care Technicians – Daycare, Bathing and Sanitation Tech


Responsible for delivering on our core promises, cleanliness and compassionate care. This position spends the most time directly in contact with our furry friends. Someone in this position not only must love dogs, they must also be willing to "get down and dirty". Cleaning accommodations, giving dog baths and managing doggie daycare are all part of the daily routine. You must excel at communication and observation skills, as well as possess a keen eye for detail. Previous experience is preferred but not required, we will train the right applicant. Some weekend and holiday hours are required.



  • Oversees and assumes responsibility for care of dogs in daycare

  • Provide the playtime for dogs when such a service is requested

  • Take dogs outside for elimination breaks

  • Bathe all dogs that are here two nights or more and upon request

  • Maintain the building in a clean and neat manner through continuous spot cleaning

1. Dog Management



    • Interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in playgroup.

    • Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup.

    • Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management.

    • Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.

    • Use proper dog introduction procedures.

    • Use appropriate praise and dog correction methods.

    • Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management.

    • Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns.

    • For all dogs in playgroup, report any unusual behavior, or eliminations and injuries to management immediately.

    • Maintain playroom as instructed per the posted checklist.

    • Ensure that all staff that relieve you for break or shift change know all dogs in group, the special needs dog status and any unusual behaviors or concerns you have been managing during your shift.

    • Keep a working 2 way radio at all times when managing dogs. Request back-up coverage prior to leaving the playgroup floor.

    • Complete dog incident reports timely when required. If you are not sure whether a report is required check with management.


2. Cleaning Duties



    • Complete general cleaning duties as posted or assigned

    • Scoop dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed

    • Mop up accidents immediately

    • Dust mopping/wet mopping floors as assigned.

    • Removing trash from containers

    • Disinfect playgroup area


    • Changing/Laundering sheets

    • Cleaning water bowls, kongs, and other toys


3. Office Duties



    • Greeting customers and bringing dogs into playroom

    • Handling payments

    • Tracking dog attendance as needed

    • Answering phones as needed

    • Other general office duties as needed
