We are looking for tour guides to help us share Colorado with others. You should be confident, mature, open-minded and have a great sense of humor. Solid organizational skills, great communication, and problem solving skills are required. Natural leaders and a team players that are flexible, curious, and great listeners. Have a love for Colorado, the outdoors, and you are a people person. You are reliable, intuitive and know how to act under pressure and high stress situations. Responsibilities



  • Lead a diverse range of half and full day tours (hiking and sightseeing). Most of the time will be spent working alone with clients.

  • Give interpretive commentary about the specific areas, including history, geology, general ecology, and current happenings.

  • Safely transport clients in upscale passenger vans

  • Meet/exceed industry standard protocol when managing clients in various outdoor and urban environments.

  • Provide professional appearance and conduct with all clients, colleagues, and partner organizations.

  • Submit required paperwork after each tour


Qualifications Required



  • Comfortable driving 14-passenger vans in all conditions (city streets under heavy traffic/mountain roads).

  • Resident of Colorado

  • Good story teller

  • College degree or equivalent life experience

  • Responsible, independent, creative-thinking, self-starting, charismatic individual

  • Team player

  • Able to connect with individuals from various backgrounds, physical fitness, age groups and cultures.

  • Clean driving record

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs/18 kg.


Must Pass:



  • DOT physical (minor physical)

  • Background Check


Qualifications Desired



  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an educator and/or interpretive guide.

  • Experience working in customer service, hospitality.

  • Experience in leadership development, team building, and/or group facilitation.

  • Knowledge of naturalist specialties which may include: anthropology, birding, botany, geology, or glaciology.

We are looking for outgoing, entertaining scholars to join our team as Off-Road Jeep Tour Guides. As the #1 ranked TripAdvisor outdoor activity in Scottsdale, we only take on the best of the best to be our tour guides. Our tour guides are required to be subject matter experts on Sonoran desert flora & fauna (we have study materials available), in addition to being able to entertain guests from all over the world. We currently have two slots available and we will award them to the most impressive applicants who are able to best adhere to our high standards of excellence.


Application process: After we receive your application, we will send you an email further explaining the application process and the requirements for your statement of interest. After we receive your complete statement of interest, we will send you study materials with information that you will need to learn and teach us during your in-person interview. If you pass the in-person interview, we will send you to our off-road certification course. Upon successful completion of the off-road certification course, you will enter your probationary period as an Off-Road Tour Guide.

Scheduling: Weekends and holidays (Except Thanksgiving and Christmas) are required. 

Salary: Tour guides are paid per tour completed. Starting salaries range from $18-$25 an hour, depending on the length of the given tour. Tour guides keep all individual gratuity, which ranges from $20-$100 each tour. We also offer monthly performance-based bonuses on top of salary and gratuity.


Requirements: All candidates must have at least 2 years of off-road driving experience before applying for this position. All candidates must have at least 10 years of general driving experience. All candidates must have a valid driver's license. All candidates must have a clean driving record. All candidates must speak English fluently. All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States of America. All candidates must be willing to commute to our business location in North Scottsdale, Arizona.

Lake Travis Zipline Adventures is seeking FUN, ADVENTUROUS, OUTGOING and SAFETY ORIENTED... ZIPLINE TOUR GUIDES! Our Season runs March 1st - November 30th. We are currently hiring for our 2019 season. Must be physically fit, confident at speaking and entertaining the public. Training provided. Applicants required to work weekends and holidays throughout our season. Leadership qualities a must!
