  Volunteers help greet visitors to the Haas-Lilienthal House. Responsibilities include handling admission and gift shop sales, providing tourist information, and showing historical/orientation films when necessary. Volunteers can choose between weekly shifts on Wednesdays (12:00 PM-3:00 PM), Saturdays, (12:00PM-3:00 PM). There are two shifts to choose from on Sundays, a morning shift (11:00 AM-2:00 PM) or afternoon shift (2:00 PM- 5:00 PM). Volunteers will receive training and are asked to commit to two shifts per month for at least a year

Hours

Position Summary:

The Host coordinates dining room activities to assure quality service is provided to guests.

Escort customers to tables and provides menus.

Manage the door; maintain wait list, as appropriate; inform customers of approximate wait time and where they can wait for a table; inform customers when their table is prepared.

Manage customer complaints and dissatisfaction in a prompt and professional manner; determine necessary adjustments; inform manager of complaint and resolution.

Anticipate customers’ needs by constantly scanning the room.

Respond properly in any dining room emergency or safety situation.

Monitor dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness.

Inspect menus and lists to ensure their condition and appearance.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
