  • Responsible for building all menu items to prescribed recipes and with prescribed procedures. This will include building Coffees, Blends, Raw Juices, Acai Bowls, Shots, and all other food offerings.

  • Responsible for building all menu items, as listed above, to companies quality standards, including but not limited to using recipes correctly, following proper portion control guidelines, serving beverages which have been properly blended, serving beverages which have correct consistently, and serving beverages in a presentable and clean fashion.

  • Dress Code

  • The smoothie bar team attire is black pants, skirts, capris, or knee-length shorts with a shirt to be provided by Desoto Athletic Club. Please keep in mind that a fair amount of lifting and bending are required and when wearing dresses and skirts, they should be of appropriate length. Jeans are allowed on Fridays, weekends, and working holidays and must be free from holes and excessive wear. A name tag will be provided and is considered part of the uniform. Girls with hair long enough must have it in a ponytail or effectively restrained. Those with shorter hair must have it effectively restrained to prevent the contamination of food or food contact surfaces. This is also considered to be part of dress code.

  • Responsibilities

  • Making the member feel comfortable through excellent customer service and knowledge of products and services offered through Desoto Athletic Club is the top priority of all employees. Learn names, faces, and “favorite smoothies” to provide the best experience for the member.

  • Acknowledge all members as they pass the smoothie bar whether they are ordering or not.

  • Thorough knowledge of products and ingredients is required in order to make smoothies as requested by the member, whether from the menu or by special order.

  • Place and Keep inventory stocked. Being aware if any product is running low before scheduled shipment arrives.

  • Make samples and distribute to members, explaining which smoothie it is and why they will benefit from it.

  • Keep work area clean and sanitized at all times.

  • All State Health Department food safety procedures and regulations must be followed. A booklet of these regulations will be provided to each employee during the training process. All managers and employees will be expected to be aware of these regulations and will be randomly tested on procedural knowledge.  

  • A department checklist is provided for each scheduled shift. It is expected that all of the duties on this checklist are completed or carried out and are to be followed by an evaluation by department supervisor or MOD to determine accuracy and acceptability.

  • Managers and employees must be dependable and punctual. If it is foreseen that any employee will be late arriving for a scheduled shift, it is the responsibility of the employee to notify the person to be relieved and direct supervisor or the manager on duty (MOD) of the expected arrival time. If an employee cannot work a scheduled shift due to illness or injury, a doctor's note must be provided. Otherwise, all scheduled shifts are the responsibility of the employee. Unless hired for specific shifts, all employees are expected to be flexible with scheduling and to be willing to cover shifts that may not be scheduled.

  • Must be proficient ABC’s Data Trak POS system and reconciliation reports with few or no errors. After a sufficient training period, any misapplication of charges to a member's account is the responsibility of the employee and appropriate action will be taken against the employee. These actions can include verbal and/or written reprimand up to termination, depending on the severity of the offense.

  • It is the responsibility of all managers and employees to know, understand and endorse all departments' products, services and promotions.

  • All managers and employees will be expected to attend scheduled staff meetings. These will be listed on the monthly schedule that will be provided to you by your department supervisor. A valid explanation or doctor's note must be provided if an employee is to be excused from any scheduled meeting. All employees must turn in signed copies of all meeting notes provided. There may also be mandatory training sessions for any or all departments when computer programming is changed or updated.

  • Departmental goals are set forth each month by upper management. Based on the department goal, individual goals are set for each employee based on the number of overall hours scheduled for the month and the number of hours each employee is scheduled. These goals may fluctuate as assigned shifts may sometimes have substitutes. It is the employee's responsibility to enter shift totals into the chart provided and to keep up with his/her personal goal as the month progresses. Three (3) consecutive months without reaching goal will result in probation or termination.

  • Notes about an employee's behavior, job performance, etc will be recorded at random in employee's file. Notes may be positive or negative or from any management source.

  • Bi-annual evaluations will be conducted by the department manager and/or supervisor.

  • Acknowledgment of the Desoto Athletic Club’s Policies and Procedures manual on file.

COMMUNAL COFFEE started with the desire to provide excellent craft coffee in a well-designed, welcoming environment that fosters community. We’re craftspeople who take pride in the product we produce and are excited to serve everyone who comes through our doors. 


Right now, we’re hiring a part time to full time Baristas at our South Park & North Park locations. 


Our North Park location is our flagship shop. It has full espresso bar, kitchen, wine & beer menu and retail / floral offerings. It is a hybrid of counter / table service. This position would include cashiering, barista and server duties. 


Our South Park location is a vintage Shasta trailer that has been converted into a full service coffee bar. It functions as a mobile unit, although it stays in one place. There is outside seating only. Must have a valid driver’s license to work at this location. 


We’re looking for someone who loves craft coffee, who thrives in a collaborative team environment, and who will work to ensure every customer feels welcomed. Responsibilities include:



  • Deliver the best experience to every customer, with a friendly and community-oriented attitude. 

  • Prepare and serve beverages and food items consistently.

  • Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work, and special tasks.

  • Maintain a clean and inviting environment for customers and team members.

  • Be able and willing to work early morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts.

  • Support your team in keeping the cafe clean and running smoothly.

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least one year experience in customer service and/or hospitality.

  • Job requires long hours on your feet.

  • Repeated motions with hands and wrists (i.e. tamping, pulling shots, steaming milk).

Responsibilities:


  • Arrives in proper uniform and adheres to all grooming standards.


  • Acts as the front line customer service representative, smiling, greeting customers, ringing their order in a fast, hospitable manner and creating a lasting impression.
