We are looking to hire baristas for our newest location in SF (Daily Driver) on  2535 3rd St., to prepare and serve beautiful coffee to the people; and we need your help to do it. We are currently hiring for both part-time hourly positions and will report to our Cafe Manager. Daily Driver hours are the following: Wednesday - Monday 7 AM - 3 PM, closed on Tuesdays. In the role of Barista, your responsibilities would include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have strong customer service skills, enjoy interacting with diverse groups of people, be dependable, reliable, and have a strong interest in coffee. You should also be able to work various shifts, including weekends. Note: This position’s compensation includes $16.00/hr + tips

Ultimately, you will ensure we provide an excellent experience for our guests.

Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Greeting customers as they enter, strong customer service skills is a must

  • Answering customers questions regarding the drink menu and ingredients

  • Educating customers on our drink menu and making recommendations based on their preferences 

  • Upselling special items and capturing customer order details correctly

  • Prepare beverages following recipes

  • Keep the bar area stocked and clean

  • Ensure brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs

  • Comply with health and safety regulations

  • Maintains a level of calm and patience when faced with stressful situations

  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

 

Qualifications:


  • 1+ years of barista experience

  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations - Food Handler / ServeSafe certified preferred

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment

  • Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic

  • Excellent customer service skills - external and internal 

  • Excellent communication skills with both team and customers

In the role of Production team member you will work with cross-functional teams such as Roasting and Customer Relations to ensure coffee is delivered to the proper destination. Interest or prior experience in coffee is great, but not required. This is a full-time, hourly position working on the Production team, based at Red Bay headquarters in the Fruitvale district in Oakland, and will report directly to our Production Manager. There may also be some driving associated with this position. The ideal individual will enjoy being part of a team, possess strong communication skills, and have previous manufacturing or warehouse experience. Our goal is to bring beautiful coffee to the people; we need your to help to do it. Being dependable, reliable, flexible, and managing time efficiently is highly important in this role.

Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Prepares roasted coffee for shipment to retail and wholesale customers

  • Prepares freight shipments for grocery customers

  • Communicates with customer relations and roasting teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently and accurately

  • Ensures all orders are packaged in a timely manner to meet shipping deadlines

  • Prints and applies labels to coffee bags for upcoming production needs

  • Support team members as needed to keep production running smoothly

  • Keeps warehouse equipment in good operating order and maintains cleanliness

  • Completes a through cleaning of bins, tables, and general warehouse area and machines

  • Accurately and efficiently blends, grinds, packs, and heat-seals coffee bags

  • Cold Brew coffee production and packaging as needed

Qualifications:


  • Experience working in fast-paced environment ( ideally production, warehouse, or manufacturing)

  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time (this is a physical job)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Can maintain a calm demeanor for the team during peak periods of high volume or unusual circumstances.

  • Genuine passion or genuine interest for coffee a plus.

  • Flexibility to work various types of shifts as needed - including weekends and holidays as needed

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, to perform and assist in performing a variety of duties, routine and special, in preparation, cooking and serving a variety of foods, including USDA approved school lunch operations. EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION FOR BARGAINING UNIT CLASSIFICATIONS

The following employment information is a summary and is not intended to be all-inclusive. For specific details, see the Agreement between Chico Unified School District and the Chico Chapter #110, CSEA.

Vacation Credit shall be accrued 1 day/month for 0 4 full years of service. Beyond 4 years refer to agreement. Each employee who is in a paid status less than 1/2 of the workdays in any month shall accrue 1/2 of a full month's vacation credit. Each employee in a paid status for 1/2 or more of the workdays in any month shall accrue a full month's vacation credit.

Holidays Employees in a paid status the day before or after the holiday are entitled to holiday pay.

Health and Welfare Benefits-- Full-time employees of the District receive up to $1,170/month to be applied towards a health plan for themselves and dependents. Part-time employees are eligible with the cost pro-rated based upon hours worked. The District pays $119 toward the cost of the dental, and $15 toward the cost of the vision plan for employees (and dependents) that work 6 hours or more per day. Any employee working less than 6 hours may elect dental and/or vision coverage at his/her cost. A term life insurance plan is also provided by the District to full-time employees and is available for part-time employees. Part-time employees may have these costs pro-rated based upon hours worked. Dependents may be covered with term insurance at employee expense. Income protection insurance is paid by the District for all bargaining unit positions.

Sick Leave One day of sick leave is earned for each month worked, with unlimited accumulation.

Probationary Period All employees must serve a probationary period of six months in any classification for which they are hired, or which they transfer or promote into.

Retirement All employees assigned 4 or more hours/day must join Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) for which a deduction is made from their salary.

Social Security All classified employees are covered by Social Security and must contribute to the Social Security system.

Credit Unions There are credit unions available for membership by all classified employees.

Baker & Commons opened in May 2018 and is already a favorite in the neighborhood.  We are serving high quality food in a fast paced environment.  There are opportunities to cross train as a barista, cashier and line cook so that everyone can help out when needed.

We are preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner from behind our front counter. We make everything from scratch and our baked goods are made in house.

Our breakfast menu includes poached eggs, avocado toast and waffles and other breakfast specials.  We serve sandwiches, salads and soup at lunch and dinner.

Food discounts of 20% on your days off and 100% discount on your working days.  Schedule can be flexible with some day shifts and some night shifts but you must be able to work Wednesday nights and Sunday nights.  We are open from 7am-9pm.  Shifts are 8.5 hours long with a half hour unpaid lunch break.

SUMMARY: The Special Events Assistant performs tasks associated with a variety of special events at Sam’s Café and occasionally off campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Hosts special events such as hall rentals and catered events by acting as a liaison between Sam’s Café and the special event customer.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, answering any customer questions, moving tables/chairs/food set-up as requested, and resolving any concerns or problems to the customer’s satisfaction when possible.)

· Explains and enforces the rules and regulations as needed.

· Interacts with security guards and other special event resource providers so that the customer is pleased with the services provided to the fullest extent possible.

· After the customer and guests leave the property, securely locks and sets the intruder alarm for Sam’s Café as well as locking the entrance gate(s) as needed. This responsibility most likely would be accomplished following a night event

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Makes certain Sam’s Café Banquet Hall is clean, presentable and fully stocked with necessary products (bathroom disposables, etc.)

· Follows safety policy and procedures, including having a full working knowledge of Sam’s Café Banquet Hall fire alarm system

Legally driving for at least 3 years in the United States

Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates is a cutting edge chocolate shop going on our 11th year in business with a boutique in Sacramento and San Francisco. Our product line includes chocolates, macarons, ice cream (sandwiches and pints), hot chocolates, confections and more. We pride ourselves on the relationships we’ve built with local California farmers who grow beautiful ingredients that inspire our menu.

We are hiring a full-time Retail Sales Associate for our San Francisco Boutique. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic, positive, detail oriented, hardworking, and dependable with a knack for making each of our customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Retail/Restaurant/Bakery/Barista experience of at least one or all are required. We strive to create a positive work environment where our employees are encouraged to grow not only in their profession, but as individuals as well.

Retail Sales Associate Job Responsibilities:

Personally, uphold and cultivate our established standards of excellence and customer service.

Barista, you will learn how to make espresso and hot chocolate drinks.

Taste, understand, know our products,and share this knowledge with our guests.

Accurate cash handling

Proper food handling

Retail Sales Associate Requirements:

Flexible schedule; you will need to work weekends.

Dependable and punctual

Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management and guests.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to six hours in length.

Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.

Must have good information retention and recall.
