Pilgrim Parking is seeking part-time weekend Valet Parking Attendants to work at our valet service operations and garages located in the Boston area.


JOB SUMMARY


Drive, park and retrieve customer cars in a safe and courteous manner and assist customers in and out of their vehicle. Valet Attendants play a crucial role in making sure all customers are given a professional, courteous and timely valet service.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Be on time for every scheduled work day

  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in complete uniform before and during scheduled shift

  • Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings

  • Inform customers of valet rate

  • Opening and closing doors for customers, assisting customers with carrying their belongings to and from their cars, and providing directions or other helpful information about the local area.

  • Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility or Senior Manager.

  • Have a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the lot to be able to provide customer directions to customers to various locations in the area, if needed.

  • Respond to customer questions in a prompt and courteous manner.

  • Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices.

  • Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Supervisor, Facility or Senior Manager.

  • Report any unknown, observed or suspected violation of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the supervisors.

  • Respond to customer questions in a prompt and courteous manner

  • Assist Supervisors and Managers with additional duties, as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS



  • Have a valid state driver’s license

  • Be able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles

  • Be able to pass a driving test on a manual transmission vehicle

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Be able to pass a criminal background check

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education/Experience Required: Less than High School education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior valet driving experience preferred.


License Requirement: The employee will be required to have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record. Should be able to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift).


Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends and overnights may be required.


Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company.


Customer Service Skills: Ability to effectively respond positively to customer problems or complaints.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of US currency.


Appearance: Employees will be required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete Pilgrim Parking uniform at all times.

Summary


As a Valet Driver, you are responsible for providing a personal vehicle parking and retrieval service for guests while offering excellent customer service. Stand in front of the location, obtain keys from drivers, help with any items or luggage and then drive the car to a parking lot, or parking space near the establishment. When the car owner is ready for the vehicle to be returned, valets run to retrieve the car and help them get in their car.

JOB SUMMARY

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests or patients in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The Guest Service Associate is responsible for driving, parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner and assisting guests in and out of their vehicle during arrival and departure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service


  • Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all customer, co-workers, and clients

  • Acknowledges and greets customer within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor

  • Uses guest last names during interactions

  • Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location

  • Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette

  • Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks

  • Runs at top speed to park and retrieve vehicles and drives slowly and cautiously

  • Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed (when applicable)

  • Opens all vehicle and property doors for guests

  • Assists customers with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries

  • Provides customers with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area

  • Delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested

  • Transport guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location (when applicable)

  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival

Systems and Standards


  • Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Account Manager

  • Treats guests and associates with courtesy, respect and dignity

  • Follows all appearance standards as set forth by Towne Park, including complete approved pressed uniform
  • Follows all attendance standards as set forth by Towne Park, as required by the scheduling which may vary according to the needs of the location
  • Executes all terms and conditions as set forth in the Towne Park Associate Handbook and other policies and procedures
  • Maintains clean, neat work environment including all surrounding areas of ramp, valet desk, wheel chairs, parking area, bell carts, bell closet, trash receptacles and ash urns

  • Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle

  • Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed

Safety and Risk Management


  • Follows site specific safety and security procedures

  • Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by Towne Park, including safe lifting techniques

  • Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys

  • Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system

  • Reports all accidents and incidents observed on shift to Guest Service Coordinator or Account Manager immediately

  • Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner

  • Immediately secures all keys on belt clip or in a locked key box

  • Reports all potential hazards and safety concerns to Account Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Ability to read and write standard English language

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

  • Ability to write simple correspondence

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization


  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money

  • Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems

  • Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed

QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR one (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable

  • Perform parallel parking

  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record

  • For insurance purposes, must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

  • Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park

  • If providing shuttle services, may be subject to additional requirements

  • Shifts range from 7:00am to 11:00pm, seven days per week

  • Greet guests with a smile and a positive attitude

  • Provide valet service by safely driving, parking, retrieving ensuring vehicle safety at all times for customers and guests.

  • Communicate in a polite, upbeat and friendly manner with customer and guests at all times.

  • Assist guests and customers willingly and in a friendly manner with their bags as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and well organized work environment for guests and customers at all times. Some light housekeeping duties are required.

  • Maintain PCI’s uniformed high standards of appearance and grooming at all times. 

  • Learn and comply with all safety and operating standards of vehicle and passenger safety.

  • Report all incidents and accidents and unsafe situations to the manager or supervisor immediately.

  • Drive customers/guests vehicle at a posted or safe speed.  Never misuse, change or take any items from the customers/guests vehicle, except to adjust drivers seat to operate vehicle in a safe manner.


Requirements:



  • All Valet drivers must be at least 21 years of age in order to meet the requirements of our insurance company.

  • Valid and current Georgia drivers’ license.

  • Good driving record and pass a background check.

  • Ability to drive stick (manual shift) vehicle is strongly preferred.

  • Superb customer service and communication skills. .

  • Ability to sit, stand at a designated station for extended periods of time, ability to run, bend, stoop, reach grasp, kneel, crouch, twist, push/pull items, devices, etc. during the course of scheduled working hours.

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs to position or move customer bags as needed.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Minimum Requirements: All Valet Attendants are required to:* Be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle to the satisfaction of management* Have your own transportation (driving experience)


  • Have experience working in customer service


  • Be over the age of 18 (due to laws about operating heavy machinery)


  • Must have either a high school diploma or GED


  • Must speak fluent English to communicate effectively with customers


  • License(s) required The general Valet Attendant position requires a valid Class D license to operate a motor vehicle. This license must have been held for at least one year prior to applying.


  • A driving record will be required at the time of application, and it must be approved for the applicant to be considered for a position. The Class D license must be kept in good standing for the duration of employment.Physical demands* Standing at least 8 hours a day* Running up to 200 yards, 50 times a day or more* Entering and exiting customers vehicles 75 or more times daily* Lifting wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, baggage, gifts, etc. (in and out of customers vehicles)* Communicate effectively with customers and coworkersWork environment Outdoors for the duration of the shift. Inclement weather (hot, cold, precipitation, etc) will have a significant impact on the employees work environment. Shifts will not be cancelled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts, and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions.

We are seeking both full time and part time staff. Applicants with a background in customer service, hospitality, retail, transportation, and security often make a good fit for this position. We can accommodate day and night shift hours and are flexible with schedules where possible.
