Review food program and kids diets monthly. We drop off food and meals for the week for our families. We weekly assist parents and nurses with questions and help plan meals. We are doing telemedicine and home visits. Parents feed the children.


Our staff could use your expertise to plan menus and think of great family meal ideas, help hand out meals and food daily.


Provide explanations for food and nutrition issues with the child's sickness and allergies.


Establish proper meal plans for the patient in accordance with their preference and health.


Evaluate the health and diet needs of patients per Doctor Orders


Calculate patient nutritional requirements per illness and medication restrains.


Analyze nutritional contact of food with the menu plan in compliance with NJ regulations


Educate other healthcare professionals in center about food and nutrition.


Conduct dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research with the menu.

Responsibilities:



  • Help us continue our long history of providing safe, healthy, delicious food for pets.

  • Formulate AAFCO/States compliant high quality, nutritious recipes.

  • Ensure company standards and product requirements are met in each of our recipes.

  • Maintain company knowledge of technical and scientific developments.

  • Ensure required documentation and records are maintained to substantiate product label compliance standards, feeding guidelines, statements of nutritional adequacy, and advertising and promotional claims.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance Teams to ensure ingredients meet the necessary nutritional requirements.

  • Assist Consumer Service Team in providing qualified, professional responses to consumer feedback.

  • Approx. 10% travel required.


Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree in Animal Nutrition or Animal Science (or a related field).

  • Extensive knowledge of dog and cat nutrition and related sciences.

  • Experience in pet food recipe creation (dry, wet, treats and canned).

  • Working knowledge of dry food manufacturing processes and operations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Primarily self-managed, self-motivated team player.

A part-time Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist is needed for pre-op and post-op consultation for bariatric patients. You will be contacting patients prior to surgery and after the surgery to go over any pre-op/post-op diet questions by phone, email, SMS, and Facebook.


Answer questions from scheduled bariatric patients and post-bariatric patients on various topics including diet, habits, exercise, and more. Other responsibilities include helping develop guidelines & diets, write articles, do educational webinars, and managing our bariatric vitamin outreach as well as our social media support group in regards to nutrition.


- Ad-Hoc Skills a Must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication REQUIRED.
- Experience with weight loss surgery patients.
- Familiarity with social media.
- Ability to work in a Team Environment.
- Ability to solve patient problems and promote our bariatric specific vitamins.
- Work with Patient Coordinators to help patients achieve their success (on a patient by patient basis).

Provides supplement recommendations based off lab work and biofeedback tests as well as make further recommendations, as needed.


Essential Functions:


Main duties



  • Reviews patient chart before appointment (diagnosis, complaints, labs, and prior recommendations; looks for any medication contradictions)


  • Reviews patient lab work before appointments and makes notations


  • Reviews lab work with patients and makes recommendations based on results


  • Notes recommendation for nurse practitioner


  • Conducts phone consultations with patients to review lab work, if needed


  • Provides EDS services to patient


  • Recommends other services provided by the practice


  • Recommends supplements to patients


  • Educates patients on dosage


  • Documents and charts recommendations and symptoms through EHR system


  • Covers EDS Assistant responsibilities if no EDS Assistant is staffed or on site



 


If EDS Assistant position is not filled:



  • Attends EDS services and procedures and obtains needed supplements from inventory room


  • Prepares supplements


  • Restocks new inventory


  • Puts away supplements that customers didn’t purchase


  • Prepares shots for practice providers


  • Pulls charts and lab work for practice providers


  • Fills out service and recommendations from practice provider on Superbill


  • Fills out travel card to describe patient’s visit


  • Transitions patient to next service



 


Job Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma, required
