Looking for a technician that can work on Japanese Motorcycles mainly, but we also work on Harley Davidson Triumph and BMW. In this position, you will be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing all machinery and vehicles. Your duties will include monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and assembling machinery.


To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills.


Motorcycle Technician Responsibilities:


Mount, balance, change or check condition or pressure of tires.



  • Inspect vehicles to determine overall condition.


  • Adjust vehicle components according to specifications.



Listen to engines, examine vehicle frames, or confer with customers to determine the nature and extent of malfunction or damage.



  • Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.


  • Confer with customers or users to assess problems.



Replace defective parts, using hand tools, arbor presses, flexible power presses, or power tools.



  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.


  • Repair non-engine components.



Repair or adjust motorcycle subassemblies, such as forks, transmissions, brakes, or drive chains, according to specifications.


  • Adjust vehicle components according to specifications.


Repair or replace other parts, such as headlights, horns, handlebar controls, gasoline or oil tanks, starters, or mufflers.


  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.


Dismantle engines and repair or replace defective parts, such as magnetos, carburetors, or generators.



  • Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.


  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.


  • Repair defective engines or engine components.



Connect test panels to engines and measure generator output, ignition timing, or other engine performance indicators.


  • Measure equipment outputs.


Disassemble subassembly units and examine the condition, movement, or alignment of parts, visually or using gauges.


  • Disassemble equipment to inspect for deficiencies.


Remove cylinder heads and grind valves to scrape off carbon and replace defective valves, pistons, cylinders, or rings, using hand and power tools.



  • Grind parts to required dimensions.


  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.



Reassemble frames and reinstall engines after repairs.



  • Reassemble equipment after repair.


  • Install vehicle parts or accessories.



Reassemble and test subassembly units.

Technician - Job Requirements:



  • Qualified candidates must have experience with personal watercraft including diagnostics, engine teardown and reassembly, as well as jet pump and wear ring removal and rebuilds.

Service Department Operations:

  • Honda Pro and/or Cat Master Certifications a definite plus.

  • Must have cycle endorsement and transportation.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Motoplex West Chester, West Chester, PA has immediate openings for experienced technicians. We are a full service Powersports dealership working with all brands, but more specifically our Signature Brands; Aprilia, Moto Guzzi Motorcycles, Vespa and Piaggio scooters.


REQUIREMENTS:


• Ensure exceptional customer service experience.


• Complete complex repairs within timelines specified by the


manufacturer and dealership.


• Perform routine maintenance and assembly of new units.


• Computer skills.


• Attend periodic training in remote locations as well as on site.


• Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment.
