We are seeking a responsible, capable Program Coordinator/Teacher for our family support services in the Richmond district of San Francisco. He/She will be responsible for supervising the Learning Place – after-school program and coordinating various support groups for the program. In working with the supervisor, the coordinator will provide a safe, nurturing environment for families and their children to develop opportunities of learning, life skills and support for these Asian immigrant families.

Hours:

• 2 PM to 6 PM (20 hours) per week

Essential Duties:

• Supervise and assist the children in completing their homework and supplementary work

• Engage children in class activities, including arts & crafts, group projects, outdoor activities, etc.

• Communicate with the families regarding the children’s progress.

• Plan, prepare and implement the after-school curriculum and fieldtrip activities

• Set class rules and disciplines, maintaining a respectful, healthy learning environment for the children

High School Mathematics Teacher – Part-Time

This is an hourly, part-time position.

Summary:

San Francisco Waldorf High School seeks a part time math instructor with a deep knowledge of mathematics. We seek teachers with a passion for mathematics, a sense of humor and the belief that all students can understand algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities include:

This position teaches two math tracks (3 class periods + prep per week per track for a total of 6 teaching hours) for the remainder of this academic year (2019-2020). The classes could be Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, or Precalculus, depending on schedule and qualifications.

Do you love working with youth, teaching sports and wellness, and designing your own curriculums? As a Youth Sports Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll lead your own FUN weekly after school program at one of our Bay Area partner elementary schools. We offer enrichment programs in tennis, basketball, yoga, soccer, and more! If interested and your schedule permits, you may coach different sports multiple days of the week. Programs begin in January 2020 and last through May with programs occurring once/week. Time commitment is 1-8 hrs per week, depending on how many programs you coach. We provide all necessary training, equipment, and support. We're hiring for both head and assistant coaches. Coach Responsibilities


  • Manage or assist a class of 6-12 students along with an assistant 

  • Attend an orientation training in person in August and pick up sports equipment from ANTS

  • Teach the FUNdamentals of your sport through a cohesive and game-filled lesson plan 

  • Interact positively with parents, teachers, and school staff

  • Ensure a safe and reliable program by conducting roll call and signing in/out students before and after class

  • Set up before and clean up after your program 

  • Transport all equipment to/from class each week

Locations 

Our partner schools are located across Oakland, San Francisco, Walnut Creek and Orinda. We will work with you to ensure your program is in a desirable location based on your area.

Schedule

Classes generally take place once/week on the same day each week. Classes take places between the hours of 2pm - 4:30pm, so you must be available to coach in the afternoons on your program day. Classes last for one hour, with ~30 minutes of paid set-up and take-down time. Some of our programs offer back-to-back classes for different age groups. Requirements


  • Transportation: Coaches must have reliable transportation to get to their various coaching sites. You may be required to bring equipment to & from class so a vehicle is very helpful.

  • Responsible & professional: Arrive on time to each practice and keep accurate attendance. Interact with parents and school staff positively. 

  • Communication: Have strong communication skills. It is required for coaches to communicate with ANTS, parents, and site staff through email and phone.

  • Enthusiastic & fun: ANTS coaches should always be positive role models for our students. We expect that you share our deep beliefs in the larger themes we are promoting: sportsmanship, wellness, and respect. Help make ANTS Sports the highlight of our blossoming athletes' day!

  • Patience: Be a patient person who understands young children & the need to develop at their own pace.

Job Summary: This position reports directly to the Program Director and acts as an IL Generalist at the Tri-Valley branch office located at 3311 Pacific Ave, Livermore, CA 94550

We help people with disabilities achieve their independent living goals.

Supervised by: This position is under the supervision of the Program Director.

Positions Supervised: None.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Facilitate identification and development of independent living (IL) goals with each consumer. Provide opportunity for consumer to develop an Independent Living Plan (ILP).

  2. Provide individual and group peer support while teaching IL skills to enable persons with disabilities and their families to develop their own support systems and to decrease isolation and increase/maintain a positive self-image.

  3. Teach specific IL skills that focus on enabling consumers to develop assertive communication skills and problem solving abilities that allow the consumer to exercise self-advocacy effectively.

  4. Input all required consumer data (all Intake, notes and indirect services information) into the CRIL’s consumer database. Reports are generated monthly.

  5. Teach problem solving and other appropriate IL skills training to facilitate successful goal achievement by consumers.

  6. Model skills and advocate for the rights, equal treatment, and appropriate policies that effect persons with disabilities.

OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES:


  1. Work with consumers will be generated predominantly through in-person office visits, home visits and other community-based activities.

  2. Report to Program Director on work accomplished in the Tri-Valley area.

  3. Must have reliable transportation to independently travel freely in the Tri-Valley area or other parts of Alameda County.

  4. Deliver all needed core services (e.g., housing, personal assistance referral, information and referral, peer support, independent skills training, individual/systems advocacy, basic assistive technology and advocacy and support the encouragement of financial independence).

  5. Refer to other CRIL staff or community agencies for additional services or follow-up, such as Assistive Technology I & R, Employment Services, Personal Counseling, etc.

MINIMUM EXPECTATIONS:


  1. Develop local resources, network with other service providers, and outreach to the community.

  2. Travel required in the Tri-Valley area and other parts of Alameda County as needed.

  3. Complete and accurately maintain consumer records and statistics on time.

  4. Supervise all volunteers and interns assigned to the Coordinator position.

  5. Attend local community meetings, CRIL staff meetings, workshops, trainings and represent the interests of CRIL in a professional manner to improve the quality of services and/or information to consumers.

  6. Coordinate and communicate on a regular basis with other CRIL staff to insure that consumer service needs are being met. Consult with and cross-train other CRIL IL Coordinators in area of specific duties.

  7. Ability to manage own work load and juggle multiple tasks in a self-directed manner.

  8. Execute other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. BA degree in education, psychology, social service or allied health field or AA with 2 years experience in counseling & IL skills training of persons with disabilities.

  2. Demonstrated ability to teach and model the independent living philosophy with consumers and to incorporate it into everyday job performance.

  3. Familiarity with different disability groups and disability issues and/or life experience with disability necessary.

  4. Ability to exercise professional conduct in all facets of work.

  5. Intermediate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, database entry).

  6. Reliable transportation and good driving record. Must maintain minimum insurance coverage as required by state law.

  7. Good written and oral communication skills.

  8. Personal experience with disability preferred.

  9. Conversational in Spanish or Asian language or ASL preferred.
