Position Summary:


Merchandisers will be responsible for traveling to a range of stores. You will be working individually or in a team environment. - Interpret, understand, execute, and match store schematic (plan-o-gram) to physical sections in stores.

- Clean and remove/replace shelving


- Place all price tags neatly and accurately generate any missing price tags


- Distinguish between, organize, separate, and box up diverse types of product


- Walk all the categories that were worked with store management and obtain management's approval on daily sign-off sheet.


- Complete surveys on topics: POS, schematic integrity, equipment needs, new item distribution, mapping, etc.


- Capture and log daily/weekly workload data and corresponding photos at store level, utilizing company technology and software.


- Responsible for navigating company websites and software to perform daily data syncs.


- Responsible for reporting shift status and hours each day.


- Performs other duties as required and assigned.


 


Education and/or Experience and Requirements:


- Previous grocery, retail, management, or merchandising experience preferred (will train the right person)


- Planogram experience preferred but will train the right person


- High School Diploma


- Must be able to use a computer, smartphone and other technology.


- Good physical dexterity (ability to kneel, stand, reach, crawl, lift, twist, bend, etc. for at least 8 hours daily)

Position Summary:


Merchandisers will be responsible for traveling to a range of stores. You will be working individually or in a team environment. You as a merchandiser will be responsible for servicing stores, re-merchandising products/entire sections, and performing other miscellaneous merchandising activities. Performs other duties as required and assigned by the stores or SAS Retail Services.


 


If the work location is more than an hour away from your home location, a hotel room will be booked for you the day prior to starting work. Compensation for travel may be allotted depending on distance of residence from assigned stores.


 


 


 


What will I be doing?


As a Merchandiser, you will help ensure customer satisfaction by:


- Communicating with Your Manager daily via phone, email, and text on issues that pertain to their specific position and assignments.


- Be responsible for resetting entire sections daily in Grocery, General Merchandise, HBC, Deli, Fresh & Frozen Foods and Racking systems; totaling numerous feet.


- Interpret, understand, execute, and match store schematic (plan-o-gram) to physical sections in stores.


- Communicate daily with store personnel and management to discuss work requirements, schedule, and work completed.


- Clean and remove/replace shelving


- Place all price tags neatly and accurately generate any missing price tags


- Distinguish between, organize, separate, and box up diverse types of product


- Walk all the categories that were worked with store management and obtain management's approval on daily sign-off sheet.


- Complete surveys on topics: POS, schematic integrity, equipment needs, new item distribution, mapping, etc.


- Capture and log daily/weekly workload data and corresponding photos at store level, utilizing company technology and software.


- Responsible for navigating company websites and software to perform daily data syncs.


- Responsible for reporting shift status and hours each day.


- Performs other duties as required and assigned.


 


Education and/or Experience and Requirements:


- Previous grocery, retail, management, or merchandising experience preferred (will train the right person)


- Planogram experience preferred but will train the right person


- High School Diploma


- Must be able to use a computer, smartphone and other technology.


- Good physical dexterity (ability to kneel, stand, reach, crawl, lift, twist, bend, etc. for at least 8 hours daily)

- Ability to read a store schematic and be attentive to detail


- Ability to communicate effectively with clients


- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds

As Director of eCommerce Merchandising you will be responsible for defining the brand and eCommerce Merchandising strategies across categories and platforms that are consistent with brand and business goals and delivers a world-class customer experience.  A successful eCommerce Merchandising leader will combine an understanding of visual merchandising and what drives e-commerce sales, an interest in the custom photo product sector, and a passion for user experience to improve the onsite merchandising strategy. You will lead a team that will build an unparalleled shopping experience by Collaborating with marketing and creative services teams to tell key merchandising stories end to end, and work with site and development team to ensure we deliver these stories against the consumer experience. 


 


As an expert on how our customers shop, this leader will advocate for the needs of our customers and serve as the go-to person for insights and strategic direction related to site traffic and merchandising performance, leveraging data and driving to improve eCommerce KPIs such as project starts/finishes, add to cart and overall conversion.

The ideal candidate is an innovative, enthusiastic, and customer-focused leader with proven experience driving digital revenue who has great judgment and creative problem-solving skills. This person will have demonstrated skill with technical tools and processes through website management, digital marketing, advanced data analysis or other relevant experience. They will be passionate, organized, and comfortable managing a team of eCommerce Merchandising managers who will work on multiple cross-functional projects at once. 


 


 Responsibilities:



  • Drive day to day optimization and digital revenue responsibilities across categories. Analyze weekly and daily performance, provide insights and drive day to day optimization across all platforms.

  • Define the long-term merchandising strategies across platforms and identify areas to improve site conversion.  

  • Contribute to the flawless execution of visual merchandising strategies.  

  • Utilize reporting (conversion, funnel, etc.) data analytics that provide decision support to business and merchandising strategies to drive growth. 

  • Adjust the site strategy based on assessment of the competitive landscape (site merchandising strategies of key competitors and best-in-class online retailers) and emerging online trends.

  • Work closely with the Product and eCommerce Merchandising teams on developing the visual merchandising strategy. 


 


Qualifications



  • Deep knowledge of eCommerce best practices; strong merchandising “eye”. Proven ability to link knowledge of branding and target customers to key eCommerce elements in order to drive the business.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for digital revenue and optimization.

  • Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable working with large data sets and making data-driven decisions. Experience with web analytics strongly preferred.

  • Senior presence, able to clearly and consistently work side-by-side across functions and departments and synthesize multiple points of view into a coherent action plan.

  • Superb communication skills, clear and concise in both written and verbal communication.

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record with 8+ years of experience in merchandising, marketing or eCommerce for top-tier consumer brands. MBA a plus!

Purpose Statement

Promotes and ensures the efficient and effective merchandising and inventory management operations of the store. Ensures all merchandise is accurately received, priced, stocked and backroom is maintained per Petco operational standards. Key Accountabilities

The incumbent must be able to consistently perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.


  • Ensures the health, proper handling and welfare of all animals according to policies and procedures, including completion of hourly animal check list and wellness cards.


  • Adheres to Veterinary Protocol for all sick animals.


  • Ensures 100% pricing accuracy, including verifying all pricing labels are posted and are accurate with regard to correct price and current offer date.


  • Facilitates the unloading and stocking of merchandise according to operational guidelines and OSE standards.


  • Ensures that the store is well-stocked and inventory counts are accurate.

  5. Collaborates with store Partners to ensure an exceptional guest experience for all Omni-channel initiatives, to include but not limited to Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery

  • Conducts and oversees hourly animal health checks to ensure the health and safety of all animals in the store.

Work Environment

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although merchandise receiving, merchandise carry-outs, or stock balancing will require leaving the store briefly. This position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs utilizing material handling equipment. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers, pets, and store personnel. Follow all safety precautions and procedures.

Education and Experience

Minimum high school diploma (its equivalency i.e. GED) or the equivalent work experience. 5 years experience in a retail setting as an inventory leader, department leader, team lead or sales partner is preferred. Experience supervising partners, or demonstrating an aptitude for training, motivation and sales techniques, and analytical abilities is preferred.
