The Pure Storage Marketing Operations team is looking for a Sr. Manager, Data Strategist responsible for defining the strategy for, and ensuring the execution of, initiatives related to data quality, data unification and data access. You will be reporting to the Director of Marketing Technology and Data Strategy and strategically focused on the governance and management of data and how it can be leveraged to drive more effective marketing.

You will work with key partners in Marketing (Operations, Data Science and Digital) and across the company in IT, Sales and Channel. This is a hands-on role and a successful candidate must be able to work within a matrixed organization and work well independently. What You Will Be Doing
  • Define the strategic agenda for marketing data management at Pure
  • Prioritize initiatives and maintain a roadmap for data management improvements
  • Define the data acquisition strategy to ensure that desired levels of breadth and quality are achieved
  • Work with key teams (e.g. Data Science, Sales Ops, IT) to maintain alignment with the company master data management strategy
  • Establish ongoing coordination with all business teams to ensure visibility into changes to data and architecture
  • Create/drive/partner to develop Tableau dashboards that provide a view of marketing performance and enable the teams with actionable insights
  • Create the measurement plan for data management, including database readiness metrics and metrics that capture the impact of database readiness on downstream marketing processes
  • Communicate data management status, progress and success

What You Bring To The Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science or Business with 5-10 years related data management leadership experience
  • Proven experience driving data quality initiatives, joining data from disparate systems and finding new ways to enable and empower a data-driven marketing organization
  • Experience with B2B data platforms such as ABM, DMP, or CDP, plus Marketing systems such as SalesForce and Marketo.
  • Ability to work with business owners and data consumers to define KPI and reporting requirements
  • A bility to provide a vision and act as an advocate for data management
  • Roadmapping, prioritization and business alignment to ensure the right strategy is defined
  • Creative problem solver, customer focus, process oriented, strong leader, high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels inside and outside the company, across functions and time-zones

  • Technical skills such as SQL, Python, R/SAS/Stata are a plus, but must be very experienced with XLS.
