    Job Description

3225 North Colorado Street, Chandler, AZ 85225

    Safety Manager
    Commercial & Residential Solar

Competitive Pay Plan + Great Benefits!

The Safety Manager will report directly to our Commercial General Manager and work closely with our CTO, CEO and other senior staff to guide and contribute to the ongoing growth of Sun Valley Solar Solutions. On day one you will join a company with a strong safety program, an active safety committee, deployed COVID-19 safety measures and two owners who view safety as our absolute top priority. Even with all this, we strongly believe there is plenty of room for improvement.

The mission for this role is simple: proactively plan, direct and implement the Company's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident free work environment. This role would be a subject matter expert in all applicable governmental safety regulations and risk management. Your focus would be working with our field teams in ensuring each construction project is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the general public.

We hope you will join us in our vision to change the world by engineering and building the future of energy in the safest way possible! Please apply online, upload your resume, and complete the online assessment for immediate consideration. Click here to visit our careers page and to learn more about us.

    Culture & our Ideal Candidate:

To be successful at Sun Valley Solar Solutions, you should be a dynamic and interactive member of our leadership team. Even as we’ve grown, we’ve worked hard to maintain the tight-knit family feel of a smaller company, while at the same time, adding many of the perks and benefits of a larger one. We welcome someone who can be both formal and relaxed with their communication style while possessing the sensitivity and experience to know which is appropriate in any given situation.

The perfect fit for this role would enjoy strategizing with senior leadership while also being boots on the ground in the field engaging with our installers and earning their respect. If you are looking for strictly a 'desk job' then we aren't the right fit for you as this is a hands-on role with at least 50% of the day spent in the field accessing residential and commercial rooftops. This means that prior related residential or commercial electrical, roofing or solar experience is required in order to bridge the gap between the WHY (safety) with the HOW (get the job done).

As a young company, we are very open to process refinement as a mechanism to achieve our goals. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced leader and mentor who can help us build the safety processes we need to take our successful solar business to the next level. Having your CHST or any related BCSP certification is required. We will also consider candidates who have the ability to obtain their certification within 90 days of hire. Once fully up to speed, your critical success factors will be building relationships, developing safe practices which also effectively get the job done, teaching people and leading by example.

    Summary:

As climate change places financial and health burdens on families and businesses around the globe, Sun Valley Solar Solutions is part of the storm that’s pushing back. In just over 14 years, we have grown from humble beginnings to expand across four divisions, including Commercial and Residential Solar, Service, O&M, and our sister company, Azul Roofing Solutions.

In the past three years, we have become Arizona’s go-to contractor for medium and large-scale commercial solar projects, while our commercial revenue has grown by more than 300%. Our backlog of commercial projects continues to form even in the wake of the current crisis. We have proudly helped organizations such as Target, Pepsi, Sub Zero and many others turn Arizona’s most abundant natural resource into cleaner communities and a more stable tomorrow.
