Job Title: Brewhouse Product Technician   

Department: Brewhouse 

Reports to: Director of Production   

Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly 

Full-time: 40 hrs/ week 

Hours of Operation: A typical shift is 8 hrs and will be scheduled Monday Thru Saturday between the hours of 5AM to 6PM

JOB DESCRIPTION   

Summary/Objective:    Revive Kombucha was founded in 2010 in Sonoma County California. We are dynamic and innovative kombucha brand with an incredibly dedicated team of people who love what we do and our community culture.   

The Brewhouse Product Technician at Revive Kombucha is responsible for the blending and production of quality kombucha. They participate in all Brewhouse functions including but not limited to ingredient batching, operation of processing equipment, carbonation, CIP, packaging and warehouse duties.    Essential Functions:    


  • Produce kombucha in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) including brewing, blending, product processing, and product carbonation

  • Participate in the execution of all Brewhouse activities including daily and weekly sanitation, raw material production, and all other production activities in the Brewhouse

  • Ensure all process paperwork is properly completed and turned into Compliance daily

  • Operation of all Brewhouse equipment including operation of CIP system

  • Provide coverage for packaging tasks as necessary, including but not limited to bottling and canning line support, pre and post operational set up/breakdown of packaging equipment

  • Maintain proper rotation and usage requirements of juices and ingredients in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and complete weekly inventories

  • Perform routine maintenance on blending vessels, product pumps and other Brewhouse equipment

  • Exercise extreme discretion when dealing with all privileged information at all times

  • Adherence to and compliance with food safety plan

  • Adherence to and compliance with GMP policies

Qualifications:  


  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Brewery, Food Manufacturing, and or Winery setting required

  • Familiarity with various analytical tools and lab devices preferred i.e. pH, alcohol and dissolved oxygen measuring

  • Bottling and Canning experience preferred

  • HACCP trained and knowledgeable preferred

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English

  • Must be able to measure precisely and count accurately

  • Adept at performing a variety of blending calculations

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Ability to collaborate, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and strong communications among fellow crew members

  • Forklift experience desired but required

Physical Demands:     


  • Regularly required to talk and hear

  • Frequent standing for periods up to 2 hours; walking; sitting; and reaching with hands and arms 

  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pulling, pushing and fine manipulation

  • Regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly use angle rolling ladders

  • Work in wet and cold or hot environments and subject to noise

Work Environment:   This job is in a manufacturing/brewery environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor-lifts, power tools and various pneumatic and electric machines in addition to safety boots, protective eyewear, and hearing protection. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 1st Shift (5:30 am - 2:00 pm), 2nd Shift (1:00 pm - 9:00 pm), and 3rd Shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am)


GRADING DEPARTMENT


The Grading Operator are responsible for extraction slabs from cure ovens, performing quality inspections on cast product, and following process and safety policies and procedures.


Primary Responsibilities:


Extractor & Anver Lift:



  • Extraction of epoxy-resin slabs from cure ovens using extractor hoist Wipe down cured slabs with TABC thinner for removal of mold release

  • Stacks graded epoxy slabs in correct locations using an Anver lift

  • Performs daily safety checklists of designated equipment

  • Stocks material such as paper, thinner, and plywood for process use

  • Empty thinner rag containers in designated barrels

  • Identify defects in epoxy-resin slabs

  • Keep work area clean and free of hazards


Grader Data Entry:



  • Performs gloss and/or color readings using a colorimeter

  • Basic Knowledge of the IPAD data collection tablet

  • Log all required information into Casting Data base

  • Apply material identification stickers to every slab

  • Use calibrated measuring devices to check material thickness and warpage

  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs


Qualifications/Requirements:



  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions

  • Capable of becoming forklift certified

  • Able to work overtime including weekends

  • Capable of operating Anver lifts


EducationalfTraining/ Experience:



  • Less than high school education

  • Experience working a manufacturing environment preferred


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to perform mechanically assisted pushing/pulling of 500 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead repetitively during a 10 to 12-hour day

CASTING DEPARTMENT


Bucket Support



  • Extract heated mix from mix tank into a pour barrel by weight and add additional components as required

  • Draw pigment and master batch from R&D area


Pouring



  • Pour heated mix into slab and sink aluminum molds using overhead hoist

  • Extract cast sink parts from aluminum molds (sink department only)

  • Assure molds are free of contaminants

  • Operate Gel Oven for heated mixture insertion

  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Capable of becoming forklift certified

  • Able to work overtime including weekends

  • Measure by weight (g/lb.) using scales and basic math

  • Required to wear a full face respirator

  • Performs tube/frame assembly, filling, labeling and pouching operations consistent with quality standards.

  • Communicates and interfaces directly with internal groups to ensure that laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration are completed as scheduled.

  • Performs material handling activities according to defined procedures, which includes picking, issuing, stock transfer and receipt transactions.


Required Skills:



  • Preferred: 3 years manufacturing experience, preferably with liquid filling in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

Role Summary:


Responsible for measuring, threading adjusting flange fit, and facing the flange on piece of pipe. Work also includes operation of the machine and a crane to move pipe in and out of machine.


Essential DUties and Responsibilities:



  • Identify fabrication requirments written on each piece of pipe (5%)

  • Place pipe in machine, center the pipe, and tighten for work. After the pipe is in place, the operator will machine tapered threads into the pipe. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper (30%)

  • After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Adjustments are made to the threads if an issue occurs (10%)

  • Applies glue on pipe and flange and uses the machine to tighten the flange onto the pipe (20%)

  • Runs the cutting tool across the surface of the face of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe (30%)

  • Remove pipe from machine and place on boards (5%)

  • Good with math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer

  • Ability to understand machinery processes

  • Consistant attendance, ability to get to work on time, every day

  • Team player, willingness to work when needed, help out and volunteer for extras

A non-exempt hourly position in which the individual will assist the Production Department in producing and assembling vinyl building products, i.e., windows and doors. This position requires Automotive Manufacturing with plastics and assembly experience.


Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Ensures that Safety, Quality and Production standards are maintained
• Compares actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved
• Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient matter

• Deals with personnel concerns

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3+ years Hands-on automotive manufacturing supervisory experience with plastics, assembly and lean knowledge/experience.

• Must have computer skills
• Ability to use test instruments
• Ability to communicate effectively with others

This position requires auto parts manufacturing experience and permanent United States Citizenship.


The Lean Process Engineer develops programs to support high volume machining for the automotive industry and implements manufacturing processes, procedures, and techniques including process improvement activities to improve overall efficiency, product quality, productivity, and profitability in accordance with company and customer requirements. Controls programing knowledge to modify and develop better process on production systems.


Lean Process Engineer Responsibilities:


· Participate in process review for new product quotation process: estimate cycle time and cutting tool cost


· Assist setup personnel in startup of new product


· Assist in measuring development parts and operating equipment as necessary to achieve engineering goals and project timing


· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the assigned department, including capital and expense plans and equipment utilization studies.


· Prepare and review feasibility of capital appropriation requests for equipment, tools, new facilities and refurbishment of existing facilities. Negotiate and evaluate equipment cost reductions with equipment supplier.


· Includes planning for new equipment, jigs and fixtures, developing specifications, obtaining quotes, purchasing and assisting with the installation by in-house or outside personnel.


· Prepare and update plant layout/process flow as needed for new equipment, new/modified processes and new/revised products, using both manual and automated drafting techniques.


· Set up of equipment, train manufacturing, maintenance staff, and hand over completed process to manufacturing teams.


· Assist in the selection of new processes and equipment for CNC machining


· Contribute to and recommend continuous improvement projects: investigate and implement process changes for cost and quality improvement; monitor program cycle times against standard and pursue efficiency improvements; investigate alternative cutting tools and coatings; track/record savings realized on implemented projects


· Troubleshoot production tooling problems


· Direct plant side activities in conjunction with corporate PE department for new equipment.


· Communicate project status to other departments and manufacturing plants.


· Perform defect reduction investigations making recommendations for equipment modifications, trailing and qualifications.


· Create, modify, and review process control details relating to new products or product design changes.


· Complete test runs, adjustments, safety checks and capability studies for new/revised equipment, products and processes required by company quality and safety standards.


· Test cost reduction ideas to ensure no compromises are made in product/process quality, safety or workability - develop countermeasures if necessary.


· Evaluate and analyze costs and techniques of new concepts or applications for manufacturing processes and present relevant data to management for further study.


· Establish preventive maintenance items and frequency.


· Guide and direct implementation of kaizen and cost reduction improvements.


· Provides technical support to all departments to implement improvements, installations and repairs to ensure safety guidelines and ergonomic principles are observed.


· Maintains specified records, files and documentation.


Lean Process Engineer Qualifications:


· 3+ years of auto parts manufacturing experience.


· BS degree


· Extensive experience with robotics tuning, electrical and PLC trouble-shooting.


· Able to read component, assembly, and equipment drawings.


· Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and theories of manufacturing and industrial engineering.


· Must have an understanding of ergonomic principles and company safety procedures, regulations and requirements.


· Must know the requirements and procedures for the start up and introduction of new products into the manufacturing process.


· Thorough understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants and processes/principles, company products, trade terminology, manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, and machine operation.


· Able to work in a fast paced, multicultural work environment.


· Strong organization, planning, scheduling, and analytical skills.


· Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization.


· Ability to multitask and facilitate problem solving and resolution.


· Active listener with effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
