Job Description


As a Security Officer with Metro Enforcement, you will be responsible for the security and safety of residents, visitors, and client representatives. You will be responsible to write thorough, clear, concise reports, which may include daily activities and incidents


Duty may include:



  • Conducting Patrols (walking & vehicular)

  • Preforming routine duties such as lockups and unlocks

  • Stationed at fixed posts

  • Monitoring access to secured areas

  • Respond to alarms


Coverage areas may include:



  • Corporate, industrial and retail, security for hospitals, hotels, educational government, and other facilities

  • Special Event staffing

  • Vehicle patrol

  • Labor protests or work stoppages, including strikes

  • Emergencies and disasters

  • Armed escorts and special couriers

  • Vehicle patrol

  • Tactical armed officers for high-crime areas

  • Alarm response officers


Qualifications :



  • Must have 20 hour Basic Security Training Certification or be willing to obtain one (training available through Metro Enforcement)

  • Must be at least 20 years of age

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Must have valid PERC card, assistance in applying for PERC available at Metro Enforcement

  • Must be a team player with good written and oral communication skills

Unity College is seeking an Open Rank Professor of Conservation Law Enforcement (CLE) to support instructional and disciplinary expertise in the Conservation Law Enforcement Program on Unity College's Flagship campus. This position will support transdisciplinary thought and contribute to the foundational support of our transdisciplinary approach to education. Teaching includes 21 course credits annually, consisting of a combination of classes such as Courtroom Procedure and Evidence, Criminology, Natural Resource Law, Environmental Enforcement, Environmental Law and/or the Conservation Law Capstone. Contribution to an immersive semester and/or expeditionary learning model will be expected. Other duties include advising, scholarship, professional development and college service. This position will support the sustainability science framework embedded in the Unity College mission.


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related field/Juris Doctor plus:

  • Credentials appropriate to the discipline, such as but not limited to professional certifications and/or licenses.

  • Experience working in the field of conservation law enforcement at the state or federal level

  • Experience with procedures of criminal law

  • Experience interacting with and/or supervising law enforcement officers

  • Experience with formal teaching in an institutional setting or police academy

An Auxiliary Officer is a sworn volunteer who holds an auxiliary law enforcement Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission certification. Although Auxiliary Officers have the same application process as full-time and reserve deputies, the auxiliary academy itself is just under 40% of the total full time law enforcement academy. Auxiliary Officers have the authority to arrest and perform law enforcement functions ONLY while under the direct supervision, accountability, and control of a full time or Reserve Deputy Sheriff. The position requires considerable knowledge of modern principles and practices of police work including: knowledge of first-aid methods, ability to act reasonably with the ability to observe situations analytically and objectively, ability to report and record situations clearly and completely, ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and a demographically diverse public while under the direct supervision, accountability, and control of a fully certified law enforcement deputy.


Job Requirements:


• Must meet all Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) requirements.
• Must meet all PBSO requirements specified in the online assessment.
• 21 years of age
• High School Graduate or GED
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job for which applying with or without reasonable accommodation.

Civilian and Non Specialty Units - An eligibility list generally has a life of one year or until exhausted, whichever is sooner, based on the date Human Resources certifies it is effective. The commander may select any qualified candidate appearing on the list for the vacant position. A Reserve Deputy Sheriff is a commissioned sworn volunteer law enforcement officer who holds a Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission certification. • Must meet all Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) requirements.
