Judys past experience includes her work at Stanford Hospital where she was part of and managed multidisciplinary teams (Speech, OT, PT), a  lecturer for graduate SLP students at San Jose State University and San Francisco State University , and running a successful private practice for 11 years.

As the parent of an adult child with Autism, sensory processing disorder, and ADHD, she provides therapists with unique and functional suggestions and strategies for therapy, home, and the community.

Keiko is a Bay Area native with over 25 years of experience in the field of speech pathology ranging from infants to adults. She obtained her undergraduate and Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from San Jose State University and holds a California State License and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.

Job Purpose
Opyas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Clinical Fellows and RPE candidates provide speech, language and feeding services to our clients in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary practice for children ages 3 to 21. Fellows and RPE candidates will have the opportunity to co-treat with other therapeutic disciplines and be a part of Opyas continued vision to blend treatment and technology in order to enable families and therapists to reach their full potential.

SLP Clinical Fellows & RPE candidates will join our growing team of pioneering and passionate multidisciplinary clinicians comprised of Feeding Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Intervention Specialists, and Behavior Technicians.

They will receive direct supervision and training from supervising SLPs with 25-years and 30-years of clinical experience across various settings.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and social communication

  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans for children diagnosed with ASD and other developmental disorders

  • Implement 1:1 and group interventions in the clinic and home settings

  • Provide multidisciplinary treatment plans to address individual needs for skill development

  • Produce progress reports and treatment plans to meet the requirements and submission timelines of regulatory agencies and funding sources

  • Provide parent education and strategies on how to implement therapy goals in the home and community settings

  • Collect and analyze session data as well as review and adjust treatment goals when required, to ensure appropriate client progress is being made

  • Maintain accurate documentation of sessions that meet the requirements of regulatory agencies and funding sources and aligns with HIPAA

  • Communicate clearly, respectfully and openly with all team members, associated providers, clients, and their parents

  • Use the companys scheduling and billing system to ensure timely billing practices

  • Attend parent, staff and team meetings and training as requested

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned

Qualifications


  • Familiarity with approaches used with ASD and other developmental disabilities

  • Early intervention experience and/or experience with Autism preferred

  • Must be positive, energetic and creative

  • Timely, reliable, and committed 

  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Google Docs

The Senior Speech Language Pathologist will conduct clinical speech and language pathology services including patient evaluation, interpretation of evaluation results and intervention relating to various diagnoses for pediatric, child, adult and geriatric patients. The Senior Speech Language Therapist will accurately assess and treat language/speech and swallowing impairments resulting from neurological insult/disease, developmental disabilities and delays, impaired oral motor abilities or laryngeal functions, dehydration/malnutrition or change in anatomy secondary to trauma or surgery.


The Senior Speech Language Pathologist will communicate with physicians and other referral sources, and provides clinical guidance to non-licensed personnel. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist will work with various healthcare team members. The Sr Speech Therapist will administer contrast media, under the direct supervision of the attending radiologist, during videofluoroscopy in order to observe, collect data, and measure parameters of swallowing. Individual Therapists are assigned age population as per training.


The ideal candidate for Senior Speech Language Pathologist should have five years of active licensed clinical SLP experience is required. Competent in 2- 3 of the following areas: Bedside Swallow Evaluation, Videofluoroscopy, Blue Dye Swallow Evaluation.  Current California licensure as an Speech Language Pathologist. BLS Required. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) through ASHA. Certifications required for specific procedures.  Under extenuating circumstances, a grace period of no more than one month will be allowed for ASHA Certification of Clinical Competency renewals. LSVT certification preferred.

Requirements:
?Current Active State SLP License
?Prefer Candidates with their ASHA CCC?s
?1-year prior school experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply
? Master?s in Speech-Language Pathology
?Must be able to work with populations with autism as well as behavioral and cognitive impairments.

Responsibilities:
?Will assess and provide speech and language therapy for students
?Write IEPs
?Ability to supervise SLPAs
?Write and submit reports according to state standards
?Collaborate with school personnel, such as teachers and psychologists, to best meet the needs of all students
?Provide feedback and reinforcement for student
?Choose materials that are appropriate for the student

We need an exceptional school-based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time position in San Lorenzo, CA. We're looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who can start immediately and work from February 25th to April 3rd. This role will provide the opportunity to engage with a wonderful district with passionate educators, engaged and supportive parents, and dozens of children who are in desperate need of your gifts! This therapist will work 40 hours per week covering resource students and mild-moderate students in grades 6th through 8th. Caseload is 50 students.
