Job Description Essential Functions: 1. Maintains turf, plantings and trees in common landscape at Sun City Roseville. 2. Performs the annual flower color change of plants. 3. Assists in the installation of new plantings and irrigation for landscape areas. 4. Performs regular and seasonal pruning of plants and trees. 5. Assists the Landscape Irrigation Technician with the troubleshooting of irrigation issues. 6. Performs regular mulch applications. 7. Performs regular weeding of the existing landscape beds. Clean up of debris. 8. Assists in the application of fertilizer and chemicals of the common landscape areas.   

Educational Experience Required: High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent experience. 2 years previous landscape experience. Previous knowledge of small landscape equipment. Knowledge of landscape planting, pruning, fertility and pest control and irrigation practices and repair. Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of native plants.   Able to stand for long periods of time in outside exposure to wind, rain, cold extreme heat and humidity. Able to kneel, stoop, bend, push, pull, reach, lift, carry and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing post-construction maintenance periods and maintenance accounts.


Responsibilities will include:



  • Enforce all Company policies and procedures, including safety regulations


  • Manage post-construction and plant establishment maintenance periods


  • Routinely communicate with interested parties and attend job site meetings to determine project priorities, communicate work activities and schedule, and ensure quality of work


  • Prepare additional work proposals for pricing and complete all jobs within established budgets


  • Plan, prioritize, schedule, and organize work for reporting crewmembers


  • Train, supervise, and assist crewmembers with best practices in irrigation, maintenance, and horticulture


  • Order materials and equipment within budget parameters to complete jobs and maintain inventory

  • Professional attitude and appearance with excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships


  • Ability to use both technical knowledge and common sense in solving problems and negotiating

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Takehara Landscape, Inc. seeks an Estimator to join our Sacramento office. We are an established landscape company specializing in commercial construction who takes pride in its family atmosphere, professionalism, and superior ability to perform. The position will involve typical estimating and project management duties. The extent of such duties will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, but the ultimate goal is to retain someone who can eventually manage all facets of a project from bid to closeout.


Candidates of all experiences and background are encouraged to apply. This is a salaried position with a typical work week consisting of more than 40 hours.


Responsibilities will include:



  • Manage bid schedule and calendar, and meet all relevant deadlines


  • Procure, organize, and review project documents


  • Attend pre-bid conferences and site visits


  • Perform accurate quantity and material takeoffs


  • Solicit and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes/bids


  • Define and outline risks, opportunities, and challenges for each project bid


  • Prepare estimates and budgets; draft and send bid proposals; track bid results


  • Build and retain relationships with owners, architects, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors



Required qualifications:



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Overview

As a Landscaper you will provide landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. Landscape maintenance support includes the safe operation of commercial grade landscaping equipment and upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.

How You Will Make an Impact

It is essential to:


  • Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas powered blower


  • Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches


  • Plant and maintain flower beds


  • Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences and other objects


  • Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.


  • Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe


  • Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers


  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years old, enthusiastic and dependable, and able to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in achieving excellence in all facets of branch operations including inventory management, team development, customer value, and overall financial performance and growth.
