The Junior Design Assistant is a dynamic and self-motivated individual that contributes to the success of Amato Architecture by supporting the design process to create outstanding designs that uphold our firm’s vision. The Amato Architecture process is inclusive of all phases of design from schematic through construction documents and administration while honoring budget, schedule, and operational requirements. The Junior Design Assistant reports to the Principal Architect.    

  · 3-5 yrs. WHO YOU ARE: We are looking for a paid intern with the availability to start working 2 full days a week with the possibility for growth. Our schedule is flexible so we are willing to work around your needs. No formal experience necessary, but you must have a background in design. We are looking for someone completing their studies in Interior Design. This role would give you great exposure to SF’s design community and has the possibility for a full-time hire.

You must be proficient in Sketchup and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Studio Designer is a plus.


  • Maintain samples library (fabric, metals, finishes, etc).

  • Correspond with showrooms for pricing, samples, and product information.

  • Follow up on vendor estimates.

  • Assist in managing inventory and product inspection. 

  • Assist in installations and photoshoots.

Síol is a San Francisco integral design practice, seamlessly melding architecture, landscape, and interior design. Our firm is seeking a full time member to join our fast paced office. Our current project roster includes high-end residential work, commercial and art related spaces. 

We are a small tightly knit team that supports each other’s professional growth. Our shared workspace demands a collaborative nature, however being independently motivated is essential as well.   • Work closely with the principal interior designer and/or project manager on projects in all phases including but not limited to conceptual design, design development, specifying, purchasing, and installation

  • Assist and oversee the production of presentation materials, maintenance of specification sheets, and purchase logs

  • Coordinate and communicate between several different teams within Síol and within each project

  • Manage communication with various vendors from specifying through purchasing and installation/delivery

  • Effectively and accurately report client purchasing to bookkeeper for invoicing

  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment including provision of contract documentation to facilitate pricing, procurement, and installation of items.

  • Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting, and finishes.

  • Prepare construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details, and specifications, to illustrate structural and non-structural elements, power locations, reflected ceiling plans and lighting designs; materials and finishes; and furniture layouts. Ability to field measure and document building condition.

  • Oversee on site installations with movers and subcontractors at the direction of the principal.

  • Coordination and collaboration with other design professionals who may be retained to provide professional services, including but not limited to upholstery, drapery, painters, cabinetmakers, and wallpaper installers.

  • Organize work flows in accordance with timelines/schedules developed with the principal and/or project manager

  • Participate in meetings and presentations


  • 3-5 years experience in high-end residential design

  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites, G Suite

  • Rhino modeling skills are a plus, hand rendering skills are even better

  • Experience with Studio Designer a plus

  • Experience in architectural construction documents a plus

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Relationships with furniture makers, showrooms, and local vendors/trades a plus

  • Self-motivated and very detail oriented

LDG is currently searching for a talented Junior Interior Designer to join our established and dynamic interior design firm. The job opening is a full time, permanent position at our office located near the San Francisco Design Center (SFDC) in San Francisco, CA.

Candidates must minimally have a bachelor’s degree or, a certificate in interior design from an accredited school or university, and at least two years of experience in a professional design environment. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, and experience with Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus.

Candidates must live in the San Francisco Bay Area to be considered for the position. For safety reasons, both on jobsites and in the office, applicants must speak and write in fluent English.

The qualified candidate will be expected to:

  • Create working floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and sections. Develop space planning concepts and generate required construction documents using AutoCad or AutoCAD LT, annotate and detail.

  • Edit or add to architectural plan sets provided by design professionals.
