Our Montessori School located in Northbrook, IL has part and full-time (5-8 hours/day, 5 days/week (M-F)) openings for Assistant Montessori Teachers for our toddler and primary classrooms (15mos to 6 yrs)!

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in teaching in a high quality Montessori environment.

For Assistant Teachers:

Montessori Experience of any kind is a plus but not required.

Experience working and/or caring for children in some capacity is required.

Experience working with children under the age of 6 required for this position.

Background in special needs, yoga, art, music, dance, etc. is also a plus.

Being reliable and approaching work with integrity, enthusiasm and dedication.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS


·       Bachelors, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, or CDA 


·       At least 1 year teaching in a classroom setting as a lead teacher


·       At least 2 years in an infant / toddler classroom


·       Infant CPR & 1st Aid (or willingness to become certified within 5 days)


·       Strong written and verbal communication skills


·       Knowledge about the principals of early child development


·       Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat, and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds


·       Must be dependable and a self-starter


·       Microsoft Office & internet literate


·       Must pass a background check and be up to date with vaccinations


RESPONSIBILITIES


·       Plan and implement activities and lessons to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program

Summary:


The Infant Toddler Lead Teacher has primary responsibility for planning and conducting age-appropriate and curriculum appropriate activities for an assigned group of young children. Infant/Toddler Lead Teachers also instructs children in activities designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development by performing the following duties.
