Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 6-12 ECE units from an accredited college and a commitment to continue education to obtain a BA in ECE or a related field (AA minimum for associate teachers) At least 18 years of age.

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications are current. Safety and Child Abuse Prevention training are completed within 30 days of hire.

Up-to-date TB test every two years. If you have a chest x-ray on file, a TB test is no longer required.

Must have a current Livescan active on file.

Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
program activities.

Infant and toddler teachers are required to have completed an infant and toddler class from an accredited college with a "C" grade or better.

Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Child Development Director, Master Lead Infant Teacher and the Lead Infant Teacher. This position is responsible for the supervision and care of children in the Infant program and aiding the team of teachers in general supervision and management of a class of Infant aged children. Provides direction for the program and classroom, assists in planning and implements age-appropriate program curriculum. This position is also responsible for helping recordkeeping, inventory of supplies in the classroom and any safety issues. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that is in accordance with the association's policies and procedures that focus on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
