BreakoutIQ is looking for virtual event hosts to lead our corporate team-building events. 

Our activities currently include virtual puzzle-based escape room games, scavenger hunts, trivia nights, and pitch competitions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:


  • Enthusiasm and an engaging communication style

  • Experience with event facilitation and comfort working with large groups

  • Host and facilitate lively team-building activities - almost always with one or more co-hosts

  • Manage Zoom and other video conferencing tools to welcome attendees, manage their movement between Breakout Rooms and main sessions, and screenshare presentations

  • Be a lively host during sign on and recap times, engaging participants and making sure they understand and enjoy the activity

  • Monitor our scoreboards and facilitator tools to provide personalized hints and support to teams during gameplay

  • Works with stable internet connection in a quiet, distraction free environment

JOB DETAILS:


  • Time Frame: Immediate Start

  • Commitment: 5-10 events per month; events are 1-1.5 hours each; you will be staffed on events as needed. Some months have significant increases in event hours, including November and December

  • Schedule: All events are on weekdays. Most events are between 12 pm PT and 6 pm PT, with occasional events falling outside of these hours

  • Occasional non-event hours, including 1:1s, training, testing new activities, and more

  • Compensation: $25 - 30 / Hr (based on experience) with opportunity for increases

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed our guests’ expectations.
- Demonstrates an understanding of menu, passing the menu test with a 75% or better, and accurately explains the menu to customers.
- Checks table settings for proper presentation and completeness, and checks host station for adequacy of supplies used to refill or for replacement purposes.
- Graciously greets guests within 20 seconds of their arrival and escorts them to a table, balancing the customer flow among service stations, taking into account requests for a particular table or server, depending upon availability.
- Accurately utilizes the seating chart and knows table numbers and sections to ensure proper seating rotation and communication between servers.
- Seats guests as appropriate and, once seated, provides guests with menus and informs them of their server’s name. Supplies children with proper menu, appetizer and activity.
- Facilitates the general functioning of the dining room during the meal service period, relaying information to service personnel, requesting feedback from guests as to their satisfaction, making adjustments when and where necessary.
- Informs the Manager on Duty of service bottlenecks and works to keep dining room service fast and efficient.
- Assists with the duties of servers such as securing food or beverage items for patrons or clearing, cleaning, sanitizing and resetting tables for reuse, etc., as the customer traffic flow allows.
- Maintains cleanliness of the customer restroom and dining room floor throughout shift.
- Accurately handles guest check payment and cash transactions, as required.
- Interacts with guests within, and as they leave, the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience. Handles customer complaints professionally and appropriately.
- Assists with tasks throughout the restaurant, such as takeout or dishwashing, as needed or requested by the Manager on Duty.
- Thanks all customers as they leave and invites them to return.
- Assists trash removal (and recycling bins where appropriate) from restaurant and replace with new bags.
- Responsible for assisting with daily and weekly cleaning and side work jobs throughout the restaurant.
- Informs Manager on Duty of inventory supplies needed.
- Actively participates in food and labor cost control.
- Maintains professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed per Isaac’s standards.
- Abides by all policies, procedures and dress requirements established by Isaac’s.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:
Some high school. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location. Must be able to speak and understand the primary languages of the guests who typically visit the work location. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.

Experience:
No previous foodservice experience is needed, though it is helpful. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work with others. Must exhibit the ability to make decisions and solve problems rapidly and fairly. Must be sensitive to the needs of customers.

As a Host, we would love you to have:
At least 1-2 years of experience in as a host or in customer service in a related field, preferably in hotels or restaurants
Convey information and ideas with clarity and genuine warmth and hospitality
Able to perform in a team serving environment
Must have a working knowledge of OpenTable or other reservation service program
High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred

You are the Ringmaster, the Crowd Control, the Maitre D’ for each Guest’s breakfast experience! You, my friend, monitor the all sections of the restaurant for empty and clean tables, estimate wait times for Guests, monitor the wait list, and ensure that all the needs of the Guests are met while they are spending time with you up front! The Snooze experience starts and ends with you!
What will your character be responsible for bringing to the stage?
●Maintain host stand, coffee station, and outside patio area
●In order to seat parties in a timely manner, help bus tables when needed. Making sure that each table is 100% ready for the next Guests
●Help with answering phones, placing to-go orders, and entering them into the POS system
●Inspect and refresh restrooms every 30 minutes
●Respond appropriately to Guest requests. Communicate Guest requests to Server as needed
●Assist teammates as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods
●Be an adaptable member of the team-continually communicate and assist FOH and HOH
