Company Description

OccuFit has provided workplace occupational health screenings, data management, and other services to hundreds of clients operating across a variety of industries since 1995. The company’s CAOHC-certified technicians operate a fleet of mobile testing units, providing audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing, vision testing, and drug testing. The company also provides sound level surveys utilizing noise dosimeters throughout the client’s facility. OccuFit manages and maintains clients’ testing data, provides reports with the critical information needed to maintain compliance with regulators, and consults with clients on ways to reduce recordable incidents. The company also provides drug test collection services at the main office or at the customer’s location, and drug test third-party administrative services.

OccuFit is strategically located in Ringgold, Georgia (near Chattanooga, Tennessee), allowing technicians to transport mobile units to most of its customers in less than a day’s drive. The company provides annual occupational health screening to customers in over 20 states.

The company serves large customers that operate multiple locations with non-stop shift production, but also can accommodate single-location plants with smaller workforces at reasonable price points. OccuFit’s mobile units range in size and capacity so that services are customized to meet the client’s needs. OccuFit is the lone provider of audiometric testing, dosimetry monitoring, and third-party drug testing services to one of the nation’s largest food processor with approximately 30 locations across the U.S. It also serves multiple manufacturers in the automotive and automotive supplier industries.

OccuFit’s primary goal is to keep the client compliant with regulators through an organized, efficient, accurate, and seamless testing process. The staff at OccuFit understands that clients want to focus on operations, not regulatory compliance. As a result, the company provides an end-to-end solution for health and safety managers to get employees tested and have the data securely recorded and prepared in a comprehensive report format.

Flexibility is paramount when providing mobile testing services. Annual testing is typically scheduled months in advance; however, clients often need to make changes to the schedule. OccuFit’s logistics team utilizes a system that maximizes schedule flexibility so that the company can make schedule adjustments to accommodate the needs of its clients. When schedules change, the company’s logistics team works closely with each client to ensure testing gets done and reports are issued in a timely manner.

Hearing Conservation/Audio Testing
OccuFit provides a hearing conservation program that gives clients the ability to maintain worker productivity by minimizing time away from production. OccuFit’s technicians are certified (or are in the process of becoming certified) occupational hearing conservationists by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). All of the mobile units are modern, clean, air conditioned, and maintained for comfort. In addition to encapsulating multiple sound booths, each unit is reinforced with insulation to ensure added quality to the test.

OccuFit’s audiometric screening is performed using a mobile unit with four, six, or eight individual sound booths and computer-operated Benson audiometers, maintained and calibrated in accordance with OSHA specifications. This system allows screening of up to 16/24/32 an hour.

OccuFit’s exam reporting software enables technicians to monitor audiograms being performed and compare results to the baseline at the time of the test. Preliminary notification letters are given to employees immediately following tests and a report of all results can be given to the client at completion, upon request.
The company’s audiometric testing instructions are available to employees in 19 different languages. OccuFit will furnish a complete easy-to-read bound report of all audiograms after interpretation by the company’s audiologist.

Hearing conservation training for hearing protection is available to OccuFit clients. The company utilizes a brief OSHA-approved video or an eight-page booklet. Both the video and the booklets are available in English or Spanish.

After the tests are performed and the data analyzed, OccuFit consults with clients on the determination of workplace-related hearing loss. This service is highly recommended to reduce the number of recordable incidents.

Pulmonary Function Testing
OccuFit’s pulmonary function screening is performed by technicians. Approximately four screens can be performed each hour, per technician. Clients are provided with questionnaires for pulmonary function screening in English or Spanish. OccuFit provides the client with a report of all pulmonary screens after interpretation by a board-certified occupational health physician. All reports will include notification letters and interpretations.

Noise Surveys
OccuFit provides noise level mapping of a client’s facility, showing areas that exceed the OSHA action level of 85dBA over an eight-hour time weighted average. The company utilizes dosimeters to attach to employees during their shifts that are small and light-weight so participation in the study does not interfere with the employee’s job function.

If requested, OccuFit provides a laminated map of the client’s facility indicating the areas where employees are required to wear hearing protection.
Other Services

Respirator Fit Testing
OccuFit offers quantitative and qualitative respirator fit testing in compliance with Department of Labor Federal Register Respiratory Protection Protocol.

Vision
OccuFit provides Titmus vision or chart screening.

Drug Testing Collection
OccuFit offers drug test collection services performed by DOT-certified collectors. Collections are taken at the OccuFit office in Ringgold, Georgia.
Third-party Administration of Drug Screen Program

OccuFit provides third-party administration of drug screen programs to clients. Clients with drug screen programs utilize this service to alleviate the burden of paperwork and chain of custody procedures involved with managing drug screen results, medical reviews, and random drug screen selection.

OccuFit offers “instant” drug testing, where permitted by state and federal law. The “ToxCup” is a rapid screening product allowing results to be available within 3 - 8 minutes. Complete packages are available and include specimen collection documentation, test confirmation and medical review services. All packages are tailor fitted to meet the client’s needs.
