We are looking for a relationship with a journeyman electrician with experience. Licensed or working on License is OK. Working with our small Team means that honesty, integrity, good communication skills, attention to detail and health and safety consciousness are a must. Must be able to take instruction and learn on the job. 

 

Applicant MUST be knowledgeable in Electrical Theory, Codes and Practice relating to residential and light commercial work. Must be proficient in the use of romex, MC cable, flexible metal conduit EMT and Rigid conduit (up to 2”). Also including ability to “cut-in” receptacles, lighting outlets and switches, plan and do Service changes, sub panel installation, kitchen and bath remodels, lighting and power outlets, A/C and EV, etc. as well as Troubleshooting and repair. We often deal with old knob and tube wiring and Low voltage wiring including phone, CATV and Ethernet. Will need tools, vehicle and phone. 

Hourly wages for P/T, F/T based on experience (typically $35-$50).

SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday, 7:45 AM - 6 PM. Occasional shift change or O/T required at times.

Description


  • Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, drains, water supply and gas equipment

  • Replace new fixtures, faucets and equipment as needed

  • Snake drains and make repairs to systems both inside and exterior of the building

  • Repair gas, water and drain leaks in a professional manner for long lasting results

  • Present options and pricing to customers 

  • Complete approved repairs/improvements in a timely manner and collect payment

Hours & Working Conditions

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot plumbing equipment including toilets, shower and bath valves, disposals, instant hot water dispensers, water heaters, tankless water heaters, drain, water supply and gas piping

  • Present findings and options to customers, providing advise as needed/requested

  • Complete approved repairs, improvements, or installations within industry standard hours per repair pricing guide

  • Clean equipment/work area

  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion of work

  • Complete all paperwork required by management, collect for work performed

  • Maintain truck inventory, keep assigned service vehicle organized and clean

  • Track vehicle maintenance and alert management when maintenance is necessary

  • Contact the office following the completion of each call, providing requested information regarding the work completed, and receiving dispatch instructions for the next call

  • Provide customers with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements

  • Provide customers with information on new equipment when repairs exceed a pre-determined cost and/or existing equipment exceeds 10 years of age

  • Perform equipment installations if needed

  • Perform maintenance work if needed

  • Identify and suggest opportunities for quality and cost improvements

  • Other duties as needed 

Job Requirements


  • Journeyman license or equivalent

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

  • Valid drivers license

  • Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide repairs at the service technician level

  • Two or more years of experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, or service technician

To meet the demands of our rapidly growing base of satisfied customers, Handyman Connection of Indianapolis is seeking an experienced INDEPENDENT Handyman.  This skilled craftsman would ideally have a variety of home improvement skills to support the growth of our business.  Handyman Connection is a locally owned and operated, well established Home Improvement Company dedicated to excellent customer service and quality work.  Our customers love us!  We have over 50% repeat/referral customer base and our business is growing!

Requirements

Must be interested in being a independent contractor



  • Must have current Driver's License and Insurance

  • Must have tools, work vehicle and good references

  • Must have experience in the remodeling or home repair trades

  • Must pass screening process which includes a background check

  • Independent Contractors must carry liability insurance and workers comp

  • Must have a smart phone and access to the internet

What You Will Receive

Responsibilities

The handyman will need to have expertise in multiple types of home repair, maintenance and remodeling. You must have basic construction skills, be organized, and effectively communicate with others with a positive attitude.  We are looking for a craftsman or craftswoman who can bid work and produce it.  If you have at least 3 of the following skill areas, you're the kind of person we need to add to our team:



  • General Carpentry - Rough and Finish

  • Bathroom Upgrades / Remodel

  • Kitchen Refresh / Remodel

  • Painting Interior and Exterior

  • Drywall Repair / Patching / Caulking

  • Minor Plumbing and Minor Electrical Knowledge

  • Flooring Repair and Installation
