At Sunrise, our Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards.


Responsibilities
 


Responsibilities:
- Properly preparing dining set-up
- Providing meal and dining services and cleaning the dining rooms
- Taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines
- Handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service
- Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations

 

 


Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full service senior living preferred
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational, time management skills
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work weekends and flexible hours

Server - Skilled Nursing Floor Part Time Position

The Skilled Nursing Server is responsible for providing the highest level of dining and beverage service to members of The Garlands. We work to build trust and build relationships with the members by providing services that meet and exceed their expectations.


Job responsibilities can include tasks such as:



  • Ensures that the dining room is set appropriately before/after each meal period. (Tables set, glassware shined, napkins, Etc.)

  • Transport food in meal cart from the main kitchen

  • Properly take temps of food items and record as necessary, per regulations

  • Know all members diets orders and ensure all members receive appropriate food as ordered

  • Ensure food is provided in appropriate sequencing per members preferences

  • Provide food according to Diet Ordered (texture/liquid) as applicable

  • Provides additional assistance to customers as needed (e.g., walk Member back to their apartment, bring food to them when they are not feeling well, etc.).

  • Be able to describe menu selections, answers questions and seeks additional information

  • Input data into POS system as applicable.

  • Assist filling out paper meal tickets as applicable.

  • Maintains cleanliness of dining rooms by mopping, dusting, etc.

  • Communicate with Managers while observing member dining related concerns (not eating, difficulty making meal choices, increased meal set up assistance, etc.)

  • Cleans maintains and restocks snack stations throughout the workday and at the end of the shift.

  • Transport dirty dishes to the main kitchen for a dishwasher to clean/transport clean dishes back to the skilled nursing unit.


Additional Requirements Include:



  • Able to lift items up to 50 lb.

  • Must be able to lift and move tables and chairs, boxes and other containers.

  • Must be able to move arms and hands in various directions to clean tables and workstations.

  • Able to tolerate long periods of walking, bending, stooping and standing.

  • C.N.A. license strongly preferred. (Complete C.N.A. program within one year of the date of hire)

  • Maintain a current State of Illinois Sanitation Licensed/Food Handlers (This can be provided by The Garlands).

  • The ability to learn and use the computerized ordering and billing system.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Conversational English required.

Assist in opening and closing a bar/restaurant, serving food and beverages (alcohol and non-alcoholic) to customers, needs money handling skills and ability to use pos system, help stock food and beverages in restaurant, sales motivated and customer service driven.



Job Qualifications

  • Money handling skills

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • At least 1 year of experience as a bartender

  • BASSET Certified

  • Can lift 50lbs

  • Able to work standing for at least 10 hours

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Works with speed, consistency and organization

  • Comprehension of English language and good communication skills

  • Comfortable in very busy environments


Job Expectations



  • Reports to scheduled shift on time and in full, proper uniform as outlined by the FFT employee handbook

  • Assumes bar set up duties as delegated by the GM

  • Sets up service bar tables according to FFT standards ensuring that correct stemware and glassware is properly cleaned and stacked, linens are correctly laid, bar equipment is cleaned and working and ice is correctly stored

  • Maintains appearance and efficiency of the bar according to FFT standards while tending bar during scheduled shift

  • Evaluates guests as to ensure that no State and Local Dram shop laws are being violated as it relates to ages and over consumption

  • Serves beverages requested by guests in accordance to standard recipes, specialty recipes and special requests. All drinks are well-poured and presented in accordance to State and Local regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages

  • Maintains and develops relationships with clients, guests, and staff during events by using their names whenever possible and anticipating their needs

  • Assists in completion of liquor inventory sheet at the end of every shift by reporting individual inventory to the GM

  • Receiving and unloading trucks, requiring the lifting of boxes, ice, liquor and other supplies

  • Other duties as assigned ​
