The General Manager will share our passion for local, hand-made foods using high-quality, vegan ingredients, and working closely with the CEO will oversee operations at our bakery in San Rafael, CA and support the growth of the business.

Responsibilities


  • Under the supervision of the CEO, work with and/or supervise administration, bakery and distribution staff to ensure financial, marketing, production, sanitation, and distribution goals and standards are met.

  • Interface with customers regarding new accounts, existing accounts and oversee the onboarding process for new accounts.

  • Oversee and lead kitchen & distribution personnel. This is to include hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, career development and coaching with approval of the CEO.

  • Help ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), federal and state regulations and safety standards are up to date and documented. Assist in developing new programs and SOP documents.

  • Assist in product development processes and oversee the successful commercialization of new items.

  • Prepare & participate in any audits

  • Regular walk-through of the facility to determine which areas need attention, maintenance or repair.

  • Ability to lift and move up to (60lbs) and spend prolonged periods standing.

  • Participate in any future projects of the business.

  • Ability to assist in the bakery, deliver products, and visit stores as needed

  • 45-50 hours/week required including weekends as needed

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in management of a professional, high-volume food facility, with food distribution, manufacturing or other business characteristics similar to Judy’s Breadsticks.

  • Background in wholesale food production, equipment maintenance, sanitation, staffing/scheduling, and quality control. Bakery/Food experience is required! 

  • Bilingual - English and Spanish is a plus.

  • Understanding food production processes and proper record keeping (including food processing and sanitation) for regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Dependable and self-motivated team player able to own responsibility.

  • Assist in overseeing food safety including GMP’s, facility security, and HACCP.

  • Assist in overseeing the maintenance of the facility and equipment to meet company standards.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Fist of flour is hiring!

We are a small catering company specializing in artisinal Wood fired pizza. We have been operating in the Bay Area for over eight years now as a mobile operation, and our first take-away brick and mortar location is celebrating over 6 years in the Laurel District.

We are currently collecting resumes, and are looking for full and part time workers to join our team right away! Specifically we're looking for experienced Pizza makers (hand tossed), Front of house/sales, and part time Prep shifts.

We will be hiring the right candidates right away.

Minimum 20-40 hours a week in a fast paced and constantly changing environment. From street festivals to house parties, we have gigs all over the Bay Area, and are looking for the right people to get the job done. Storefront shifts will be Tuesdays through Sundays with 6-8 hours shifts (open from 12-9pm each day), Catering shifts generally run from Thursday through Sunday, but our catering schedule is always changing. Hours vary from day to day, so you must be flexible to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

You should possess a strong passion for Pizza and street food. Candidates with proven Pizza restaurant experience will be given priority, though it is not necessary. You will be trained on the job in the ways of the Fist. If this sounds like you then read on!

  • Maintain knowledge of product quality plans; check for flaws, blemishes, discoloration, burn marks and warping.

  • Start and stop machine and read dials to ensure the machine is running properly.

  • Trimming excess plastic from product after molded.

  • Assemble product in accordance with quality plan.

  • Emboss product when required; ensure a quality embossing stamp.

Reichel Foods manufactures various snack trays such as Dippin' Stix at our South plant, which are sold nationwide from global chains to domestic companies.

These are permanent positions starting at $10.00

1st shift - 530am - 2pm (depending on plant needs)
2nd shift- 2:30pm - 11:30pm (depending on plant needs)

Responsibilities:
•Visually check for correct card placement and code date on trays.
•Place the appropriate amount of finished product trays into the correct display box.
•Lift flat corrugated shippers onto the table as needed.
•Assemble display boxes as needed.
•Place display box into a corrugated shipper if needed.
•Place finished box on the conveyor.
•Insure the correct components are being used in production. Required materials can be referenced on Hormel Operational Product Specifications according to item number.
•Report any defects (leakers, foreign material, light weight, or discoloration) of components to the Line Lead, Production Supervisor, or QA Technician and place in marked containers.
•Place component in the correct position on the tray.
•Press pouches down in black bins to insure they are flat and to prepare for the Product •Bin Filler to supply additional component pouches.

All position will ensure that the tortillas are stacked, packed and is of the best quality to produce a safe, wholesome, quality product for packing for delivery. Position’s will manage and pack quality product for delivery as well as inventory in a FIFO order.


All position will ensure that they are following La Canasta’s GMP policy and are organized and clean area as they go. All positions are responsible to report any food safety or quality issue to supervisor or upper management with the ability to initiate action.

  • must be on time and at their work stations at the scheduled time of your assigned work day shift so that production is not delayed.

  • needs to insure that all safety procedures and guidelines are being practiced at all times. If any safety or mechanical issues arise it is your responsibility to notify your supervisor or manager.

  • Maintain personal appearance in accordance with good manufacturing practices.

  • Since the tortilla quality is so important to the packing process, you are responsible for immediately communicating poor tortilla quality to the supervisor. For example: Tortillas, folded tortillas, undercooked tortillas, dry, over cooked and under or overweight tortillas.

  • must insure packing the correct amount of tortillas in designated bags, label with date code and seal while taking as much air out of bag as possible according to process specs

  • responsible for understanding the operating functions of the counter stacker equipment as it relates to troubleshooting. Resetting the piston button for product jams, photo eye clearance, and on and of function

  • needs to place tortilla packs on conveyor for boxer

  • needs to assist in collecting rejects and place in designated tubs

  • responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of his area and at the end of the shift.

  • Sort tortillas on vision system when needed

  • Rotate positions with others on line

  • Ensure that all tools are returned to their assigned location at end of shift

Job Description


 Place dough coming off the production machines onto baking boards, maintaining proper shape, size and placement on boards as specified on production sheets particular to bread type.


 Constant communication with machine operators reporting issues with machine output and production.


 Place loaded boards onto carts and transport to proofers. Maintain constant communication with head baker for correct proofer box sequence.


  Refill wooden boards on production line.


  Refill flour dusters as required.


  Complete accurate dough weight sheets and proofer log as required.   Track number of boards and carts that are being filled throughout the process.


 Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.  


 Perform work as assigned by department supervisor, rotating tasks as requested on both production lines.


 Maintain a clean and safe work area including all ancillary equipment.  


 Record lot #’s of all toppings used in production process  


 Wipe delaminated boards from Gemini oven and stack appropriately on cart.

Overview:

CVFF s Sow Production team is excited to offer a summer internship program for the summer of 2020. This position will work closely with our team and learn about our hog production practices. The internship will take place in Indiana. The individual will work with CVFF to complete tasks such as but not limited to the following:

    • Training and certification of basic processes and procedures at a commercial sow farm.

    • Work with our farm team to complete daily tasks and implement learned skills.

    • Complete certification in basic skills in both our breeding and farrowing departments.

    • Participate in leadership activities both on & off farm

    • Gain a perspective of entire business from farm to fork through tours, meetings and trainings throughout the summer.

Expectations:

  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • This is a full time, paid, 10-12 week position (35-40 hours per week) for summer of 2020.
  • Work will be completed primarily on farm, with additional hands on experiences at our CVFF office and in the field.
  • Intern will work on various projects both with and without supervision following training.
  • Intern will be responsible for completing an assigned project(s) and presenting this to senior leadership at the conclusion of the summer.
  • Start date will be Mid-May to Early June.

Qualifications

Qualities of Ideal Candidate:

  • Interest in pursuing a career or gaining experience in a real-world swine production position
  • Junior/Senior. Sophomores may be considered.
  • Organized

  • Good communicator
