Position Overview

As a Kitchen Team Member, you will be an ambassador of the sweetlife and sweetgreen's core values. You will be an integral part of the guest experience, through the creation of healthy, transparent, and delicious food. It’s your job to ensure that we’re serving our guests products that live up to the quality and food safety standards that we pride ourselves on. You will report to the Head Coach (General Manager) and Store Lead (Assistant General Manager).You must be a true team player, willing to get your hands dirty and do whatever it takes to keep your store running smoothly. Responsibilities

Kitchen Team Member Responsibilities include and are not limited to:


  • Ensure all food meets food safety and quality standards to eliminate cross-contamination on the front line

  • Prep all cold and hot food items using prep worksheets

  • Follow proper knife safety procedures

  • Operate oven and hot prep equipment, ensure proper time/temp of all hot and cooked foods

  • Operate fit-wash, robot coupe and all other cold prep equipment

  • Maintain clean, food-safe dish and prep stations throughout shift

  • Set up and break down oven station, maintain clean and organized hot prep zone and equipment

  • Manage communication between Service Team Members and Kitchen, inventory front line, prep zones, oven and walk-in to determine needs. Ensure areas are always stocked

  • Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing salad menu + ingredients

  • Put received orders away

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Teaches and adheres to our philosophy, culture and commitment to quality food and exemplary service.

  • Supports the Chef in having ownership of the restaurant

  • Has a Passion for food.

  • Ensures all products and purchases meet our guidelines

  • Hires, trains and supervises the daily conduct of the staff in the kitchen

  • Supervises the adherence to proper uniform standards following the employee handbook and established account guidelines

  • Helps develop and revise job descriptions

  • Helps  Chef conducts staff reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions

  • Ensures that all Hiring and Training standards are met, assists in upholding and training all SOPs 

  • Oversees that all menus, programs, concepts, challenges and tasks are carried out in a time effective manner

  • Ensures that high quality food items are creatively well prepared and presented in a cost effective manner

  • Makes sure all kitchen waste is disposed of properly

  • Ensures that all culinary personnel follow the proper time and attendance policy

  • Assists  Chef with placing proper orders, sourcing the best local and seasonal foods, and following purchasing expectations

  • Completes inventory on an appropriate schedule

  • Assists Chef with special events as needed with staff, culinary support

  • Works with Chef to plan seasonal tastings of new menu items

  • Expedite food

Note: Job duties are subject to change as needed.FOOD AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Adheres to all Health Department, OSHA and ADA regulations.

  • Follows all SOP and safety guidelines

  • Develops and revises station specific daily and weekly cleaning checklists and oversees their accomplishment

  • Reports any injury, accident and/or food borne illness incident for customers and/or staff accurately and in a timely manner to the Chef or General Manager

  • Trains all personnel in safe operating procedures of all equipment, utensils and machinery

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Has a minimum of 2 years kitchen supervisory experience or applicable culinary experience

  • Experience in Asian cuisines, especially Cambodian a plus

  • Has the ability to operate Web based ordering systems, process customer requests, changes to orders, menu updates and client profiles.

  • Proficient with word processing and compose basic email memos

  • ServSafe certified

We are a small business that specializes in handcrafted bath/body products. Founded in 2016, our business has grown quickly and our products are currently available in 1000+ retail locations (gift shops, hotels, spas, boutiques). We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Packaging/Production Assistant for the holiday season (now - Dec 2020), with potential to extend to a permanent role if performance meets expectations. 

This role will include involvement in an assortment of tasks – making products, packaging products and/or shipping products. No prior experience required (training will be provided). Bonus if you have experience in any manual labor roles (e.g. bakeries/kitchens, production warehouses).

Our standard business days are M-F, but we also have holiday shifts available on Sat/Sun. Full-time or part-time candidates OK. 

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Weekdays 10AM – 6:30PM, Sat 10AM - 6:30PM

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay: Hourly DOE

Job Responsibilities


  • Make bath/body products according to defined recipes and instructions. Products can include soaps, bath bombs, balms and more. This production role involves working with different types of light machinery/equipment (e.g. Kitchen Aid mixer, air compressor, press, humidifier, etc.)

  • Package bath/body products with a great attention to detail. This can include filling bottles, labeling products

  • Prepare and pack outgoing shipments

  • Perform quality control assessments on finished goods

  • Maintain work environment cleanliness, including but not limited to cleaning equipment/tables, organizing supplies, removing trash, etc.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads Team Members and directs all daily operations of the restaurant in the absence of both the General and Assistant Managers including supervising and training employees, opening and closing the store, ensuring all food preparation is complete, managing employee breaks and shift changes, and completing shift summary reports. 

  • Makes sure the restaurant is up to company standards with regards to cleanliness, neatness, and customer accessibility.

Compensation: $19/hour plus tips. Health insurance included.

Hours: This position is 2:30pm-11pm, Friday-Tuesday
