Our Sales Specialists are passionately interested in the study of horticulture, design and people. We’re looking for applicants who will collaborate with our customers to create beautiful and sustainable gardens all day, every day.

Sales Specialists spend most of their time outside in our garden-like nursery providing a warm welcome to all who enter the store. Our customers are happy to be here, and working with them is a pleasure. Our style is to be ready and available to them when needed and otherwise unobtrusive. We are passionate about plants, and it’s our mission to share our inspiration and enthusiasm with our customers. We’re experts in directing customers to the plants and other garden amenities that best match their hopes and dreams for their garden space.

In addition to designing gardens with our customers, Sales Specialists are responsible for communicating about all products and services offered by Flora Grubb Gardens. They help our customers through the whole FGG experience, from greeting to check-out, and also support customers on the phone and via email.

To be successful in this role, an applicant should be a lover of plants and gardens and an outstanding communicator who thrives in a busy retail environment and works well with others to achieve shared goals.

Candidates must have at least one year of professional experience working with plants in either a garden nursery setting or in garden design or maintenance. Some formal horticultural study is preferred. Professional experience with staff supervision will be highly valued as well.

Through formal training, camaraderie with other plant experts, and time spent surrounded by plants here at the nursery, Sales Specialists can expect to consistently improve their skills in garden design, plant identification, and plant care.  Ouroboros Farms, a leader in aquaponic farming, is currently looking for full and part-time farm hands to join our passionate and knowledgeable team in Half Moon Bay.

Experts in Aquaponics, Ouroboros Farms and Education Center is one of the largest commercial aquaponic farms in the U.S. We offer farm tours, aquaponics classes, produce and aquaponics supplies. We believe in growing food sustainably, raising fish humanely, and teaching the community about the benefits of growing aquaponically.

We are seeking hard working individuals interested in learning, hands-on, the day to day operations of a commercial aquaponic facility. Responsibilities include participating in daily harvest of lettuce, leafy greens, and herbs, as well as cleaning and maintaining our facilities and fish tanks. Benefits include free veggies and farming courses.

Requirements:


  • Strong work ethic, and the willingness to take on tasks as they arise

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Experience Gardening or Farming

Not required, but preferred:


  • Experience in Hydroponics, Aquaponics, or Aquaculture

  • Fish Farming or Breeding

We are looking for someone who takes great joy in making things beautiful and loves working with plants. You will work with a small team that takes all of the merchandise that arrives at our door and turns it into the wonderland that is Flora Grubb Gardens. You will move a lot of heavy merchandise around all day, both indoors and outside. You will interact with our customers, make sure they feel welcome, and connect them to a more experienced salesperson when necessary.

Part of the magic of Flora Grubb Gardens is in the beauty of how everything is displayed. Your job will be to make that magic happen, over and over again. Because the media we work with are garden plants, pottery, and furniture, you’ll need to be strong, fit, and enthusiastic about working on your feet much of the time.

It would be great if you have experience building displays in any retail environment. You’ll need to have had some plant and garden experience and a passion for gaining more. We’re looking for someone who wants to learn!

Many people have excelled in this job who have a background in design or art. It would be a huge plus if you have a passion of horticulture and a strong interest in garden design. You’ll be in a great position to learn from the skilled horticulturalists and garden designers who work here.

This position operates machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner. Qualifications

To be a Backup Receiver at Sprouts Farmers Market you must:


  • Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; weekends and holidays

  • Report any receiving discrepancies to Managers and Buyer(s) to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications, examines contents and compares with records, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy equipment

  • Attends all applicable trainings, and be able to use or be certified in the use of appropriate equipment needed for store or facility, is able to comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices

  • Ability to work independently yet have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other team members and Store leadership and is able to knowledgeably communicate with service vendors

  • Are you willing to put those muscles to the test? This position requires moving/transferring product weighing up to 60 lbs., from 5" to 56", for up to 30 feet for up to 30 hours without mechanical assistance. Crazy right!

  • Must use pallet jack to horizontally transfer product weighing up to 1000 lbs., requiring a force up to 50 lbs., for a distance up to 150 feet for up to 40 hours.

  • Vision required for reviewing invoices and monitoring incoming product.

  • Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) ability to multi-task, ability to understand proper retail receiving, and basic computer knowledge

  • Is able to execute other duties as needed
