Duties and Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, building comfort, energy efficiency, and related problems

  • Present findings and options to customers, providing advise as needed/requested

  • Complete approved repairs, improvements, or installations within industry standard hours per repair pricing guide

  • Clean equipment/work area

  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion of work

  • Complete all paperwork required by management. Collect for work performed

  • Maintain truck inventory

  • Keep assigned service vehicle organized and clean

  • Contact the office following the completion of each call, providing requested information regarding the work completed, and receiving dispatch instructions for the next call

  • Provide customers with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements

  • Perform equipment installations if needed

  • Perform maintenance work if needed

  • Identify and suggest opportunities for quality and cost improvements

Job Requirements


  • EPA Universal Certification

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Valid drivers license

  • Clean driving and criminal records as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide repairs at the service technician level

  • Two or more years of experience as an HVAC installation, maintenance, or service technician

  • Ability to follow controls/wiring schematic

  • Ability to braze/solder/weld 

  • Standard technician tools

  • Neat, clean, professional appearance

We are looking for a relationship with a journeyman electrician with experience. Licensed or working on License is OK. Working with our small Team means that honesty, integrity, good communication skills, attention to detail and health and safety consciousness are a must. Must be able to take instruction and learn on the job. 

 

Applicant MUST be knowledgeable in Electrical Theory, Codes and Practice relating to residential and light commercial work. Must be proficient in the use of romex, MC cable, flexible metal conduit EMT and Rigid conduit (up to 2”). Also including ability to “cut-in” receptacles, lighting outlets and switches, plan and do Service changes, sub panel installation, kitchen and bath remodels, lighting and power outlets, A/C and EV, etc. as well as Troubleshooting and repair. We often deal with old knob and tube wiring and Low voltage wiring including phone, CATV and Ethernet. Will need tools, vehicle and phone. 

Hourly wages for P/T, F/T based on experience (typically $35-$50).

We are a non union commercial contractor looking for an Estimator / Asst Project Manager with detail knowledge of Carpentry & Drywall trade to join our team.


This position will be responsible for supporting our Project Management from pre con throughout the estimating, bidding and project management process.


The Person will perform the take-off process. This process includes reviewing blueprints, estimating costs associated with the scope of work, and producing an accurate job bid proposal. This role also demands strong attention to detail. Estimators use On Center Computer Software, OST and Quick Bid, to perform essential daily job functions.


Job Duties:


Take-offs



  1. Gather information from bid invitations necessary in order to produce an accurate job bid. This may include reaching out to customers to ask questions about materials and services needed.

  2. Review all specifications. This will determine products necessary to bid. Also, if there are specialty products/wall covering, then pricing will need to be requested prior to the Project Manager putting the proposal together.

  3. Review blue prints electronically on On-Screen Take-off Software.

  4. Production rates of completed accurate take-offs will continue to be monitored and should increase over time.


Estimating



  1. Accurately prepares estimates based on material usage, manpower, equipment, and general conditions as required for the job.

  2. Estimate costs associated with the scope of work by breaking down each phase and category as outlined on the print.

  3. Generate detailed proposals that accurately define scope of work and job costs.


Job Bidding



  1. Submit job bids using On Center Software, Quick Bid before the invitation to bid deadlines expire.

  2. Work on multiple assignments using time-management skills to complete all tasks before deadlines.


Project Management Support



  1. Perform the job estimation and job bidding process and revisions.

  2. Document Processing, coordinating, tracking & scheduling.

  3. Tracking Men, Subs, % complete

  4. Coordinate Weekly Labor

  5. Communicate with customers when necessary.

  6. Create and Track Change Orders

  7. Create, Track and submit Submittals and any other documents.

  8. Monthly Workforce time

  9. Collaborate and support office in any other tasks to improve efficiency not only including estimating and project management.


Communication Skills



  1. Strong verbal communication skills when communicating with customers in-person and over the phone.

  • Builds productive relationships within the team and community to minimize project obstacles or issues; proactively communicates project requirements and/or changes and works to resolve any conflicts.

  • Develops strong personal and professional relationships with potential and current customers and contractors to establish long-term, ongoing relationships.

  • Networks within the region and industry to identify and create a contractor pool to meet the organization's needs and identify new business opportunities.

  • Collaborates with manufacturers/distributors in the development of new products, enhancement of existing ones, provide feedback, and resolve quality or delivery issues.

  • Participates in pre-bid and progress meetings, providing input as needed and communicating outcomes to Estimators or management.

REQUIREMENTS:




  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience; Construction background strongly preferred.

  • Learns and performs interior demolitions, as part of a team. Interior demolitions may include structural teardowns, removal of plumbing/electrical/lighting fixtures, removal of counter tops, backsplash, cabinets and/or cabinet door/drawer fronts, removal of appliances and other demolition duties as assigned.
