You would lead our team of 9 walkers and engage with our 150+ clients while working directly with the owner and business manager to ensure the company runs smoothly. ○ Responsible for Dog Care in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
Facilities & Safety
○ Ensure cleanliness of all rescue spaces, particularly kennels and dog-related areas, this includes deep cleaning kennels
○ Human Safety (Volunteers, Staff, Adopters, etc.): follow safety protocols throughout our spaces
○ Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of dogs under our care
○ Feed and care for the dogs on a daily basis
○ Document behavior and conduct behavioral assessment of dogs
○ Track incident reports, ensure they’re written and that reporting forms are available for all volunteers, adopters, and staff onsite
○ Match dogs and assignment into kennel areas
○ Keep track of dogs and where they’re allocated
○ Grade dogs for our volunteers and keep it up-to-date
○ Ensure dogs receive medical attention, when needed
○ Responsible for intake of animals - ensuring space and medical supplies are prepared for intakes

○ Support & collaborate with teams within Family Dog Rescue (Adoptions, Volunteer, & Corporate Engagement)

To excel at this position you will need to be outgoing. We show up to 3 dogs per appointment. You’ll spend your day at the shelter. Most shifts run for 6 or 8 hours.
There is an administrative component to this as you will process the adoption paperwork during and after a successful adoption. In addition to that we respond to emails and schedule appointments.

Job Description and Responsibilities – Pet Stylist

The role of Pet Stylist is a very important component to the overall guest experience. The Pet Stylist will assume complete responsibility for the grooming or bathing of our guest, either while a guest at PETSuites or as a walk-in appointment. The Pet Stylist must be dependable, caring and pay attention to detail. He or she must have experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats. We believe in patience, kind and caring handling of all pets while here at PETSuites.
PET STYLIST RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that each guest is treated with respect and dignity
Ensure that all guests are groomed or bathed (depending on owner’s requests) to the owner’s specifications. Grooms/Baths must be completed on time.
Properly maintain all grooming tools to insure quality of grooms.
Promptly notify manager if PETSpa supplies are needed (bandana, shampoos, etc)
Maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following PETSuites standards of cleaning and disinfecting PETSpa. See below for details.
Cleaning is essential: All hair must be swept off floor in a timely manner. Bathing and drying rooms must be cleaned before going home. Grooming area must be tidy (windows cleaned, floor mopped, computer station cleaned.)
Disinfecting of drying rooms is crucial. Use Envirosol disinfectant daily and bleach weekly on all drying rooms.
Monitor guest’s health while grooming or bathing. Report any unusual concerns to the general manager or senior supervisor.
Ensure the guest has water and a chance to “go potty” if he or she is in the PETSpa for over 2 hours.
Follow all PETSuites standards of safety with regards to handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists
Pay specific attention to kennel tags, (Meds Person to Feed, Aggressive, Separate for Feeding, etc.)
Adhere to PETSuites pricing guidelines. Get prior approval from manager or pet’s owner before any additional costs are added to service.
Effectively communicate to pet care staff that guest is in the PETSpa (use PETSpa tags).
Adhere to procedures in identifying pets while they are in the PETSpa (groom cards, name bands.)
Promptly give any laundry to pet care so that it can be cleaned.
Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping.
Talking and hearing to effectively convey information and understand instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members.
